Watching this episode when it aired, deeply affected my life and to this day I remember Alex Brown, although I never met her or her family, and from time to time she will just pop up in my head and I will check on the foundation. I don't know is they are active anymore, but I know that I will always remember this and tell her story. Like Emma Roberts said, nothing said over text is worth risking your life or other people's life.
Sadly, people who text and drive or drink and drive are playing 'Russian Roulette' with their lives and with other people lives too, thinking they are invincible to danger. As a Mother and Grandmother, I believe in the POWER of educating Pre-teens and Teens, the effects texting and drinking has when you are driving. There needs to be MORE people like the Browns, to bring the message across.. Thank you for bringing this show to air..
I love the way those guys go a step further from building a home to honoring a life and preventing the same thing from happening to them and helping families live with loss. God Bless them all!

As I watched the show it touched my heart!! I am a mother of 2 boys and I text and drive while my boys are in the car. Never long txts, just small ones. But I realize after seeing this show that it doesn't matter how long or short your text is!! I am putting my kids lives in danger..as well as my own or a stranger I may hit if I got in a wreck. Tonight after the show, I took the pledge!! I will no longer text and drive!! I will no longer have any distractions while I drive!!!
Thank you brown family for making such an impact in my life and all of my friends lives as well!! I know that Alex is shinning down y'all and watching as you all change the lives of the world. Please come to Back Elementary in Texas!!

Distractions kill. Just DRIVE! A sign in a local neighborhood where I live reads this. Not only in reference to phones, but anything that takes your eyes off of the road. It's not so important that it can't wait until you get where you're going, and if it is, then pull over and do it. Would you rather reach your destination, or have someone call whoever is waiting there to tell them you won't be there because you died? Think about that next time your eyes are anywhere but the road.
Alex was such a beautiful girl. I have lost several cousins and friends due to texting and driving. There's nothing worse than getting a phone call saying someone so close to you has been killed. I really hope this opens eyes to many, because texting and driving is just a wreck waiting to happen. You can be the best driver in the world, and it's still dangerous. May you rest in peace Alex, along with the others who have lost their lives.

I lost 2 of my best friends a month apart due to distracted drivers. They were not texting but the car behind them was the driver of that car walked away without a scratch so this is a big deal for me and my friends

I've watched 1 episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It's a joke... The families that are chosen for the home makeovers all have relitively small houses (1100 to 1400 sq ft). They end up getting New houses, that are in excess of 3000 sq ft. It's ridiculous.
I Think Taxes Go Up When They Enlarge The Home. But Their Needs Are Met For Their Families , Often The Mortgage Gets Paid Off , And They Usually Receive Other Donations That Will Help With Upkeep , Etc. I Think This Is A Great Thing ; Happy For All The Good Things Done For Others ♡
I see nothing wrong with helping someone in need... I try to help ppl whenever I can, but this goes beyond just help. This is pure greed. Helping a family would be to renovate their current house, or build them a new hous of roughly equal size... Taking someone from a 1200 sq ft home, and building them a 3000, or 4000 sq ft home is nothing short of stupid.
Kids Don't Stop Growing , And Some Are In Tight Sleeping Areas Of Inappropriateness . The Need For A Larger Home Is Already There. Kids Need Their Own Bed , To Share A Room Is Fine For Smaller Kids . So It Really Most Depends On The Dynamic Of The Family , Needs May Vary .
