    Actually all the amazing things you mentioned I learned from letting my dog run freely and following him by the barefoot running technique and see everything from his eyes rather than from a city-boy perspective... today I can track down animals, find natural shelters, water in the middle of a Forrest from just having silently observed my dog in detail... I love this film! Am just about starting with bow hunting ! Thanks for a beautiful film :)

      @InstinctiveAdventures  5 лет назад +2

      It’s funny you mention that, and I kinda skim over it in the film but I scout with my dog for the same reason. He will naturally use Game trails and he notices critters far more than I do sometimes, valuable resource for sure.

      It was really rough when I got it. It was 80% covered in camo tape from the decade which was extremely difficult to get off. Lots of elbow grease and I made it happen. The only true blemish the bow has are the two holes they made to mouth the sights they had on this bow when I got it. Other than that its pretty much perfect!

    I have harvested hundreds of deer with bows but not one with a crossbow, the first thing I learned about bow hunting is success is very hard to achieve once the leaves have fallen from the trees , another thing I learned is that any cover scent is better than none with the best being essence of fall brand , and it is expensive but it works. One more thing I will tell you ,,,you must practice shooting down just like while you are hunting deer from an elevated position, the slower the bow , the more critical this is ,,

    • @InstinctiveAdventures
      @InstinctiveAdventures  5 лет назад +1

      Thats a lot of sound advice. I'll have to look into the essence of fall. I'm storing my clothing in a tub with dirt wafers and I often use ever calm. As far as practice I shoot from a tree often. I think its just nerves. I've been bowhunting for over a decade, but in our little section of Maryland we have a much lower deer population. So I can count on one hand how many deer I've taken with a traditional bow. I've killed more squirrels than deer. I think it takes time to get those reactions under control.

      I lived in Washington for most of my life, now I’m just a few miles over the border into PA. We hunt Washington, Allegheny and Garrett. I tried for two days to kill a bear in Washington and the rest of bear season we hunted savage river. We have hunted savage for a long time so between all my bear encounters at home in our tiny mountains and all our bear encounters in savage we were torn. Dad saw a bear but it was on a roll wouldn’t have really had a shot with a rifle. This year we have both seen bears and I would have been able to kill the one I saw with the stick. It’s just a luck of the draw with bears in Maryland it seems. Any luck scouting up bears this year?

    • @davestot9370

      have a few on cam earlier in the year. with more invasion of people in the woods with archery season and such the pictures have slowed down but there still there. I was fortunate to kill one couple years ago with the rifle and a guy in the group killed one last year. hoping for a repeat again this year!

    I was really enjoying this till you said you were hunting bears? From the UK I understand shooting dear for meat but I can't see how you can take pride in shooting bears? That's not a sport it's sad

    • @InstinctiveAdventures
      @InstinctiveAdventures  4 года назад

      It’s not sport, never have I ever considered hunting a sport, it’s most certainly a way of life. Rant over, we still hunt bears for meat. If their population gets out of check we won’t have deer to hunt either so it’s a win win to hunt bears. The only reason we have bears now is because hunters agreed to a special tax that can only be used in conservation. Without hunters the state comes in and kills the problem bears and throws them in a dumpster where every hunter that takes a bear has to take the meat because that’s the law. Just some info on how we do things here in the states. Our specific licensing system is a lottery draw meaning I can’t hunt bears every single year in Maryland. The state tries to manage their population in a limited way. Cheers man.

    • @rcchronicles25
      @rcchronicles25 4 года назад

      @@InstinctiveAdventures I don't think hunting is a sport, it's a way of life, I get that. That's why I watch these channels, I understand it is key to people's lives there, for food and wellbeing. I'de be a happy man if I lived in say Idaho on a little farmstead with a bow to go out hunting for food! But I'm not buying that you need to hunt bears! As far as most people can see that is the sport of shooting down a big predator. And you eat Bear meat? Come on? When's the last time you had a bear sandwich? And hunters pay tax to save bears, by shooting bears? Haway that makes no sense? If your paying conservation tax it's a cost your willing to pay so you can shoot that's all. And I bet there's an awful lot more deers than bears! Anyway my sentence changes nothing, it still shocks me that people do this. In the UK we hunted all the bears and wolves till there was none. The only Predator we have left is a fox! Can u imagine that? And the fools still go out and hunt them with dogs, and they call it a way of life too. It's sad mate. Let them be
