Definitely a much needed video. Great content!! Stay in compliance so that you can stay making money!!! 💯✌🏽
Exactly!!
What a blessing to have an FMCA employee on ur channel to clear up the ELD rules for box trucks. I have Keep Truckin as well and I have been having my driver go in personal conveyance if he is headed to the hotel, to the store, ect wen he has a load on the truck that doesnt have to be delivered until the next day. Keep Truckin told me to go into personal conveyance. Im definitely going to share this with other owners I know
I was use PC to move from pumps to get parking to get some food at the truck stop
parking is crazy at trucks stops
Great information to have. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks
this was helpful and informative

I appreciate this information.
Im a owner/operator and just was not clear on all the points mentioned. Thank you so much for having a member of the FMSCA to officially answer these vital questions. This was so so awesome. Congratulations!
Thanks for making this video. Thanks again for listing the things we need to do to operate a box truck.
Yes! We all needed this.
Good morning! Great content and video.
Great video. We the trucking community are greatfull to you for the content.
That was great! We are new to the logistics world, and one of my biggest concerns is being compliant. Education is it. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the education. It’s all about helping one another. Thank you!
Great comment, trying to stay safe and keep trucking 😅😅😅👍🏾
Thank you for info
Great video!!!!
Thank you guys for this video you always Bless us with such wonderful information! Question, my husband and I have Differ clock's no sleeperberth, do we need to redo and log inspection again if we are just switching drivers to fulfill the remaining 3hrs in the 14 hour shift?
Thanks again!
Is a dashcam recommended as well?
Yes. Even in your personal vehicle 😉
Great info. As a young black man both of you have motivated me.
This was much needed! Great content!
co driver is the biggest surprise....this is a great video
gem= with a co driver both of you can drive a sum of 14hours together(14hrs split between both drivers)
The problem is when your headed to pick up the load you have to go on duty, so that starts your clock. So hopefully you would have Enough time to go back off duty for 10 hours again before actually dropping that load off because then you looking at a short day cuz you’ll be running low on hours. Good info I’m happy you guys corrected yourself because the fmcsa don’t play 😂
Thanks for the positive comment my friend, and I do agree once that clock starts there’s no reset until 10 hrs has pass , it’s one of the Inconveniences we face, we try to do careful planning schedules. That’s about all that I can say concerning that rule as for now. Great comment keep the comments coming, stay safe out there :-)
WHAT IF THE DRIVER DRIVES 8 DAYS OR LESS IN A 30 DAY PERIOD BUT DRIVES INTRASTATE 187 AIR MILES
Hey Walter, I know where your other pair of glasses are😆😆
You can split the clock if you're at a hotel or home...just gotta notate you're at a hotel and best to have a receipt...eld will show you're at home/in your home city.
Facts i was about to say that and i think dude was to but they kept cutting him off when he was trying to future explain his answer
I don't think that is allowed. Only sleeping berth
If you have been off duty 10 hours prior to picking up a load, do you still have to go on-duty to pick up another load?
Yes. If your picking up a load to make money for the business you should be on duty driving
What about when you are empty?? Do you stay on duty until you’re home?? Or once empty, if going home go off duty? @Box Truck Couple.
To clarify,as a local box truck owner operator,as long as I stay within 150 air miles (172 land miles) I'm good with a time sheet, even if I cross a state border, right??
Hello there. Please review the policy for yourself. Click on this link. It’s part 395 - Hours of service. Once you click on 395 , short haul exception is section E
www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-III/subchapter-B
Yes, you can go over state lines if you are interstate or have a MC#
So if your spouse NEVER drives, are they supposed to even be mentioned in the ELD? If the spouse SOMETIMES drive should the have their own ELD
This is for co-drivers. If they never drive it’s not applicable
Question what if Walter takes a Amazon load in the middle of the night and you do mothership in the morning and Walter decides to ride with you do you guys still work off his time clock?
Yes, because Walter is still in the truck. Now, if Walter somehow got his 10 hours of rest, then he reset himself
What if your box truck gvw is 26000 but you pass through the weigh station and your load is 26500, would you be penalized? I do have a class B cdl!?
Yes, I think because the truck placard and registration is good for 26k lbs only.
Aow about if you dropped a load and is dead heading home empty for the day and not making any money how you set that in the eld
You should be on duty driving until you return home eld.fmcsa.dot.gov/FAQ
My spouse has a CDL & a 24ft box truck 13 ft height, due to him having his CDL is he still required to not exceed 26000 weight as a non CDL driver in his box truck ?
If the box trucks allows it yes, how many axles ?
If your box truck is register and inside placard is at 26k, you can't go over that weight.
If you have a 16 foot box truck (non-CDL) & travel only 500 mile radius are you still subjected to ELD
Great question, I am sorry I don't know the answer. I would suggest calling FMCSA customer service. They are really helpful
@@TheBoxtruckCouple Ok Thanks
Yes, if you are over 10,001 gvw
Hmmm yeah co driver split driver shift for a none sleeper berth is unfair
Safety 1st!
Well the co driver can't sleep or rest properly. I say that is fair.
Great content!
Hello, great channel. Quick question, so if I have a 100 mile deadhead to pick up a load I have to be on duty and not personal conveyance? Thanks
If you’re moving in the direction to pickup the load, you’re considered on-duty driving..
Yes , if your headed to pick up a commercial load you should be on duty driving.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That's so hard to truck with that dumb ELD. If I have to drop off 3 loads but my time only has an hour left But im waiting to be unloaded im just suppose to stop even if im close. I'm goin to make my drop! They over doing it!
Hey that is the risk you take. I wouldn't want the fine that goes along with that or if you got into a accident.
