    The man promised his wife that he would win a gold medal for her. But his wife died in a car accident july 16, 2007. That is the reason of his reaction after lifting that thing.

    This weight lifters may be fat but they have lots of muscle weight and also really know how to pick up weights. Olympics weight lifters have the same balance as ballerina

    • @HalifaxHercules
      @HalifaxHercules 10 лет назад +9

      Chigishev was definitely not fat.
      Even though he weighed around the 280-290 lb. range and had a lot of muscle, he was incredibly strong for a Super-Heavyweight Weightlifter pound for pound.

    • @lMobiuscidl
      @lMobiuscidl 10 лет назад +3

      Check out Li Xiaojun.
      Fat is only with the heaviest lifters, who dont have to be worried about fitting in the weight class

    • @TheLeviathar
      @TheLeviathar 9 лет назад +7

      Pablo Cid They still have to worry a bit about weight, gaining to much weight will make them slower, often causing problems in the snatch, look how Chingishev only weighted 125 kilos and could snatch 210, which is very near the snatch world record, but was a 13 kilos from the world record in Clean and jerk

  • @ajh2
    @ajh2 15 лет назад

    Rezazadeh had serious health problems and was not in shape to compete for gold, hardly even medals, on Beijing. Not a sportsman like him would skip the chance for 3rd Olympic gold in row if he thought he had any chance to make it. That doesn't however change the fact that he's still a living legend and one of the all-time best, even though his time on the top now is over.
    About Steiner, the way he just forced himself to make the last lift with an enormous effort is very impressive!

    I met steiner while been back home in Tenerife. Him and the rest of the German national team were training in my town this Summer and I have got to say that the guy is apretty top bloke (well they all were)...plus when you see him, you don't really think that you are talking to a man that can lift 258 kilos C+J
    I even drank beers and tequila shots with them...though towards the end of the night Matthias sort of wandered off and everyone was looking for him haha

    He doesn't hold the real world records though. He only has his records because the old ones were removed when the weight classes were restructured. His clean and jerk, snatch and total have all been beaten at Olympics during the 80s.
