Doesnt matter when you migrate you loose your family and friends, My parents Emigrated to Australia in 1972 with 5 children, they arrived with nothing and returned to UK 3 years later! It took 7 years to reunite all immediate family! I re emigrated to Australia at 20 years old in 1981. You will forever be split between 2 lives and 2 countries and be prepared to miss your grandparents aunts & uncles and first cousins until you are completely no longer a part of the extended family you may have grown up with. 13:53 Dodgey Aussies . I never have fear here. Those that think they can do harm hide in the shadows. Australia is a safe place and we better set a couple of extra places at the table as your parents will want to stay ;)
What’s a comfortable salary out in Sydney 30-40 aud an hour say? as a single lad planning on going out solo!? Heard cost of living is so high right now.
Snakes aren't really a thing in the cities it's only when you move out to the rural country areas that you might encounter one. Just need to stay away from long grassy areas.
Deaths in Australia by animals from 2001 - 2017: 172 - Horses 82 - Cows/bulls 53 - Dogs 37 - Snakes 37 - Kangaroos (but all as a result of a vehicle incident) 31 - Bees (but all as a result of anaphylactic shock ie. allergic reaction) 27 - Sharks 21 - Crocodiles 0 - Spiders One quarter of all the above fatalities were the result of a vehicle incident. That's a total of 460 deaths in 17 years (average 27 per year). For comparison, there were 1,123 road crash deaths in the year 2021 alone. In other words, you should be scared of cars, not spiders.
@@DaveWhoa honestly doesn’t make sense bees usually have the highest fatalities out of all our creatures by far because of the reason you stated don’t know where you got this from I’ve never heard of a horse killing anyone..
It's a good idea to travel around Australia BEFORE you decide WHERE to settle down. People move to OZ to one place and think the rest of Oz is like that. It is not ! Australia is a vast country with 6-8 climate zones. Every city has a different vibe and country areas are different, too. ( England can fit into the state of Victoria, regarding area size, which is the second smallest state, and second most populous one with the most populous city !) My parents moved here as 10 pound poms in the early 1950s and we children are so thankful that they did. We have so much 'elbow' room here and life is good. The extended family of three generations of Aussie descendants live spread across the four eastern states.
Australia is very much about not having family , its a huge loss., but life style and mental health is better here , family become strangers , lets hope the talk going around that a plane that takes an hour to get here from England comes true.
how did you start gymnastics coaching before you moved? i’m from UK and looking to move to Aus by the end of the year, i do adults gymnastics classes already but would love to get into coaching if u have any tips / advice on how to go about it!❤
So I started coaching when I was around 15 years old, my mom is also a gymnastics coach! I qualified as a level 1 coach at 16 and then as a level 2 at 18, a lot of clubs back home need coaches desperately so I’d reach out to some and ask about it!
@@victoriawhitehouse704 amazing thanks so much for replying! I’ll speak to my local club about it - are there specific skills you must be able to do in order to qualify for level 1 (front walkover etc)? and how long does it take to qualify? Just wondering if it’s something I can do alongside my current job ☺️
I live in inner Melbourne, and the last time I saw a snake was down by the local creek about 10 years ago. I called the snake catcher. The last time I saw a spider of any sort was.... I can't remember. The big Huntsman spiders (colloquially known as Daddy Long Legs spiders) that are often featured in the Aussie wildlife photos are basically harmless. These photos are designed to 'put the wind up' foreigners, which is something Aussies enjoy immensely. Huntsman spiders catch flies and insects and so, despite their scary appearance, are welcome in house. You get used to them. I haven't seen one in 20 years.
@@garyhankinson5695 Cheers, Gary! Hmmm, another false carry-over from my childhood. I thought Daddy Long Legs was slang for Huntsmans. But not so! Daddy Long Legs have spindly long legs, Huntsmans not so. Sometimes Daddy Long Legs eat Huntsmans.

Think about joining a house sitting website or pet sitting website.
I have no idea how people survive living in that cold little island off the coast of Europe, so welcome to the sunshine.

New York, London, Paris, Tokyo etc. are all way more expensive than Sydney or Melbourne.
If I was moving to Australia I think I would simply let the pilot steer and not need a quidebook.

There is a housing crisis so finding somewhere to live will be expensive.

What spiders, I haven't seen any for years
It’s a major exaggeration. Honestly it’s nothing to worry about

17:30 In Sydney you won't find the snakes. In the North you will see plenty each year. They are protected now so don't hurt them.
