The Tatra sheepdog isn’t used as a herding dog. It fulfils the same function as the Great Pyrenees - I.e. guarding livestock. In the same way Great Pyrenees are guarding sheepdogs and not herding
@2:34 Polish Hunting Dog went extinct in Poland during WWII. A couple of dogs were found at the house of an elderly Polish aristocrat in Belarus. In order to preserve the bread at their request, dogs were taken to Poland where the bread was reintroduced. Before WW II, Belarus was part of Poland.
While discribeing polish sighthound some other dogs appeared in the video! Especially Long haired russian sighthounds. This breed is not even considered as a close relative for polish sighthound. It is believed that persian saluki is the closest relative for polish sighthounds (at least untill genetic research would told us something different)
@@dogbreedsFAQ In the Chart Polski representation I see photos of Sloughi, Saluki mix, Russian Psovaya Borzoi and English Greyhound. If doing a dog breed representation, please even try to check that material is correct or don't do it at all. The world is already full of spam.
Hi. I'm from Poland and i have Polish hunting dog also name as ogar pawlusiewicza and you describd Polish hound as ogar pawlusiewicza. The seconda mistake is dog size. Polish hound is large breed and Polish hunting dog is middle size dog. You show correct photos of dogs but you mix dogs descriptions one with each other.
Pomeranians are a German dog breed and are officially part of the German Spitz family. Pomerania was German at the time the dog breed developed, now most of Pomerania is located in Poland, but that doesn't make it a Polish dog breed.
Hi! Thanks for mentioning Poland's next breed. Just want to ask, Sulawesi XXX- Is "Polish Hunting Spaniel" a crossbreeding between Polish Hunting dog and English Cocker Spaniel?
@@dogbreedsFAQ There are also 3 other breeds of dogs here in Poland but all of them are extinct. I talk about polish wire haired pointer (ancestor of german wire haired pointer), polish water dog and harlequin hound.
More information about Polish Hunting Spaniels are on facebook.com/polskispanielmysliwski. They are recognized by Polish Kennel Club and 9 other countries at Europe. Now on yhe way for FCI recognition
Thank you for this video! We need to make these Polish dog BREEDS more popular here in the USA!
My pleasure! Please don't forget to subscribe.🙂
Very nice ,I'm from Poland and I didn't know we had that many dog breeds, great video👍
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video!
I’m moving there
That would be due to unintentional ignorance. Sad nonetheless.
