I've always wanted a mountain of gold.. So I made a few changes to how things operated and this was the result. I changed the drills, improved the conveyors and added filters. Adding more grinders to the conveyor system was the biggest difference. It keeps all the gold very small and therefore won't jam up anywhere. This means a very automated system where little effort is required. Now I want to set up several of these.. Hydroneer gameplay with my commentary as always!

I love it how he talks about the amount of gold is lagging his game, but then you see the Armada of dirt chunks
He needs to use the magnet wand to pile the immense amounts dirt into another grinder.

Cannot wait till he discovers the sorters where he will end up with a mountain of pure gold, next to a mountain of pure energy crystals and iron. The game will love him. and it will be easier to clean up^^

@@bazizanab7810 In the most recent video Drae said you shouldn't do this, it's apparently not smelting any more gold/iron after the first few melt. Can still use a pot to collect it and then move it all to the burner, but trying to autosmelt doesn't work.

Most people get annoyed & frustrated when their game slows down - for DF it just makes his day

You're actually very correct. My tablet is a bitch and lags every 2 seconds watching a video.
Pretty sure he just doesn't understand how the game works. My piles are much bigger and no lag. I have proof on my channel.
I have a feeling he's already succeeded. My computer is having a meltdown whenever I play videos, and it somehow feels like it's worse with his videos.
The thing i find funny in this series is just everything flying all over the place.
Also that objects sometimes actvate no clip.

DF you do realise there’s a button that makes life a lot easier when placing dirt while holding it. Blitz does it in his videos.

After the gold got processed by the thing that swallows the dirt you should use a funnel so it can fall directly into the pot so you don't need to collect it all

I know I'm a bit late, but good god I've been screaming funnels at the screen for like 3 episodes. He even called the mud thing he made a funnel. 😭

I'm officially convinced that DF is secretly a dragon, and he's found a way to monetize his addiction to gold hoarding by making these videos.
Now add a sorting system after the gold/iron/powercrystal producing thing and pipe the nuggs into cruscibles so your game doesn't lag :D
But then he doesn't get to stand on the massive pile of gold

Idea: Process the dirt in the cave, into a funnel and then bring it up... The dirt is mostly clumping together on its way up, gold and iron won't clump together on its way up. Once aboveground you can use the sorting machines to sort it, which also means you don't have to go so far above ground.

This game is WAY too tedious and broken for me to even consider playing it. But I'll sure as hell watch DF playing it all day. The game developers are lucky people like DF exist.

I already have 60 hours on steam for this game lol. I was also skeptical from watching df play. But the game has only given me problems twice, and i dont even have a graphics card .

Suggestion: conveyor splitter coming off off the grinder that separates iron, gold, gems, and crystals separately, with the Iron and Gold dropping directly into smelting pots. Would solve the framerate problem, maybe.
Press e while holding somthing will make the item go infront of you so you can drop it well

Clean up ALL the dirt, then the game has more entities for gold. You could also make the gold catcher deeper so your mountain can be taller

Helpful tip, conveyor belts DON'T need corks at the very end. There's a red value on the side that stops the water from passing through.
Hey DF! There is a way to make the game run better, and that's turning the graphics so low or medium, it helped for me and my computer is not that good. I hope I could help!

Pro tip: Mixing iron and gold will decrease the value.

pure 24 k gold is more expensive than gold with metal impurities like iron or copper still like that
a good example would be dog pure breeds vs mixed breeds one is obviously more expensive
Actually it deletes the iron and shards, if there are more gold than them, if you take 3 equal size chunks of iron and one of gold, you would end up with an iron bar worth the irons price and the gold will be deleted.
All the gold has reflection and shadow if you want alot less lag try to lower the shadow and other qualities the change won't be much but it will help alot

His dedication is admireable.
There's red knobs on the conveyors, you can turn them off to prevent water spewing out and the conveyors will still run (only on the end pieces otherwise your belt system will stop) so if your conveyors end with an incline or a flat or even a sorter turn the very last end off and no need for corks. Also turn all those tiny energy crystals into crystal bars the same way you make gold and iron bars. They last longer and are easier to work with.
One day he’ll discover the “E” button to place dirt chunks and crystals. Next episode: becoming a pro hydroneer!

Just like three or four things to help make things work better and make your life easier and make an even better mountain.
1) Invest in putting the harvest near the beginning of the line, after all the drills. It'll shoot the stuff onto the belts and then drop, hopefully meaning less jam ups. Which leads to point two.
2) Investing in a few spliters. What's better then a gigantic pile of riches? 4 piles of riches!
3) Energy Shards can also be smelted and turned into bars. With the metal saw you can also saw bars in half for two bars?
4) Ram drills, though you aren't using them anymore, will only ever produce Top level dirt no matter how deep they are.
Try putting a of the dirt that is in the floor and pause the convagers so the game doens't go so slow

His monotone voice sounded so happy after discovering that his operation is finally working and he gets a lot of gold. I love that.
the way that the wishing well works is that no matter how much you put into it you still get a boot and that boot sells for the exact amount you put into the well so it is basically useless. Also the Goliath drill removes the dirt it mines so eventually they will stop mining if you stop supplying it dirt so it’s not fully automated. Also you should probably remove all the pieces of dirt that are on the ground or you probably won’t be able to play the game anymore
You can sort the resources so you have a separate mountain of gold, iron, gems, and also power crystals!
You can place pipes inside of objects if you're careful. Things like boxes, conveyor belts and machines. You can even connect pipes to conveyors from inside them! Just be careful not to place a pipe inside another pipe - that crashes the game.
You can also use conveyors and sorters to feed gold and iron directly into smelting pots.
Now you just need to set up sorters to throw that gold and iron directly into that smelting pot.
This series is the best.
you should have a couple conveyors that lead from your metal pile to some funnels with the crucible pots on the fire sconce thing so you can stand at your pile and put iron on one and gold on another and it will automatically smelt in the pots so you dont have a bunch of things lying around, might speed it up a bit and when you turn it off youll have a huge pot of metals worth loads
DF, now you can use a sorter to separate gold from iron and gems, and use funnels to make the gold go into a crucible and be ready to be smelted

When you have the mining helmet in your hand, left click to activate the light and then press q to put it on.
You should put the thing that turns it into gold right under the output then convey the gold product it would prevent jams of dirt
While you wouldn't see the pile of gold, Did You Know, you can place a funnel and the smelting pot that you melt the gold down anyway in at the end for the gold to just fall directly into that.
Not as visually appealing, but saves you the time from having to put the gold in slowly into the pot to melt.
Hey little tip from me, its worthless to bring the dirt up to the top, you should use one goliathe drill per grinder and grind it at the bottom right away then only then use a conveyor belt to bring the gold, iron, gems and power crystals to the top
if you have multiple goliath drills use one grinder for each drill

and use a funnel above the grinders.(lower the grinder by one so the cork doesn't get in the way
You should put a small conveyer with one of those ore sorter things, and bring your magnet on a stick to the huge pile, then use it and bring the gold/iron/shards/gems to the sorter. Then the sorter will sort the good in a single pile so you will have a huge pile of only gold!!!
You could try using one of those sorters to let the conveyer make a 90° turn. Add a grinder in front ond set it to filter out dirt. That should have it nicely centered and might help with build up

Click the little red valve on the side of the belt to stop the water from flowing through it.

You can use the sorter as a conveyer belt with a water t joint. This would let you run your processing without having to buy a bunch of pipes to run down the side
Okay better idea. 12 drills, set up like pyramid where in the middle of the pyramid is where the mountain of ore will be with 4 of those dirt remover thingys, so 3 drills set up on north side going up to middle of pyramid and so on with the south, east, west side of it. I believe in you
DF, I think one of the biggest problems with your systems is you try to funnel all the dirt into 1 processor thingy. Making multiple smaller modules that use 1 drill and processor each, then transport the items from each module into a sorter to make multiple mountains, would be better.

Maybe you could try to have the gold, gems and crystals spitting out from the machine into a new conveyor belt, then passing through separators to, well, separate each item into specific new conveyors. That way you can have a pile only for gold, a pile only for iron, a pile only for gems, and a nice pile specificly for crystals.

Add 2 more grinders on the left and right on the end of the convayerbelt.
You should set up convayers from you pile to the sorter machines so you can sort into all the different things.
It's VERY satisfying to see a succesfully automated project that he's been working on for 3 episodes straight
You could always try having the harvester under the ground with the drills and conveyor the gold up to the surface?
