your commentary is solid gold as always, I'm still laughing at "Vanitas Yeetus." I absolutely want to make this build my next D&D character, let's see how long it takes for the DM to catch on.
You know, I dont know this character so I wasnt sure where to go with it, but as you started stacking miss chance after miss chance abilities on him, I fully expected you to go rogue for a few levels for evasion. Just for max "Neener neener you cant hit me!!!!" shenanigans. Also because I dont know if those hexblade boosts also synergize well with sneak attack but I figured it wouldnt hurt.
Another con I'd give Vanitas, he's not a good team player. If he's giving himself all those buffs, he can't use any of those meager spells to assist allies, and whenever he casts the maddening darkness chances are the team won't have any magical darkvision and will be dealing with as many problems as the enemy. Truly great build, but probably best saved for an NPC boss or edgelord oneshot PC.
In honor of Tulok's Kingdom Hearts videos causing me to play Kingdom Hearts, and in the process finding one of my favorite series (finished KH3 just today) I'm rewatching and commenting on all of his Kingdom Hearts videos cause he's cool and so is Kingdom Hearts
Super awesome build, definitely going to have to try this one! Ngl I was a bit disappointed there wasn't anything for Vanitas's signature Keyblade Stream attacks. His whole DM in Remind was based on that, and seeing this video it's what I immediately thought of and was excited to see how that might get translated into D&D. Also would've been awesome to ride around a battlefield on a literal river of swords. But that's also probably hard to get into D&D so understandable. Thanks for the vid!
It took me a minute, but I caught that Monsters Inc reference... I was so confused before I remembered the sheer number of properties crossed over in Kingdom Hearts xD
Now that i look at it another time, this is probably the most accurate build in your channel, to the point that i think Wizards of the coast created Hexblade warlock specifically to play Vanitas
Oh hey I made this build once already! Or at least a build similar to it. I had different spells and was an Aarakokra for flight, I also took the invocation to add my Cha mod in Necrotic to my melee strikes and spammed Twinned Booming Blade for my attacks instead of Thirsting Blade. It was also only level 15 so I was Warlock 10 Sorc 5. The Armour of Hexes plus Mirror Image made my GM ban me from playing the class combo ever again, but holy CRAP it was a strong build. Stellar range with flight and Eldritch Blast, and devastating melee with Booming Blade, and I was nearly untouchable. Oh I also had Haste on
This makes me wonder how good these builds would do in pvp settings against other builds in different videos, like, what would the matchup of the Vanitus build versus the Aqua build be like? I guess it would come down partially to the players knowledge of themself and their opponent, which makes sense, but it sounds interesting.

Hey Tulok! Have you ever considered adding an addendum to your Building Character videos, be it in the form of another video or a document somewhere, about magical items to seek out for each character? These items would amplify strengths, make up for weaknesses, and perhaps help to make the character more faithful to the original version. And in keeping with AL rules, a level 20 character can only have up to 10 magic items and be attuned to no more than 3 at a time to keep the list relatively short for each character. For example, for Thor (who I'd have as 11 levels of Eldritch Knight and 9 levels of Tempest Cleric), I'd have him attune to: -Hammer of Thunderbolts (bludgeoning like Mjolnir, two-handed like Stormbreaker; no more fitting weapon) -Belt of Storm Giant Strength (need a giant belt to attune to the Hammer of Thunderbolts; 30 Strength) -Wand of Lightning Bolts (only downside of Tempest Cleric is lack of this spell; use with Channel Divinity) And also give him without attunement: -Armour +3 (Asgardian armor ain't nothing to sneeze at) -Broom of Flying (Thor doesn't fly on his own; hopefully DM lets me reskin to be part of his weapon) -Gauntlets of Ogre Power (need to wear them for Hammer of Thunderbolts, but attunement not necessary)
