have you noticed any difference in how the clutch feels compared to the 2017? I work at a honda dealer and have worked on a few Si's, and have noticed that the clutches on the 17-19 feel alot heavier with a more noticable engagement point as compared to my '20 that is way easier and more linear. I wonder if it has anything to do with mileage, or the fact that the '20s have a different flywheel (17-19 cost is $1200, '20 cost is $600, different part numbers)
I just co-sign a 2020 Honda SI for my nephew too. His dad once co-sign a car for me, I can’t be too greedy and look the other way, when the salesman came back and told him that he didn’t have enough credit because he was too young and a first time buyer. He told me afterwards that when the salesman told him he needs a co- signer, his soul dropped. It took me 10 second to tell him that I’ll sign for his new SI. He didn’t know why I would do this but I told him that I’m just returning a favor his dad did long time ago.
I really relate to your story dude, the same goes for me! I just got myself a 2020 Civic Sport! and all your videos have been helping me do all the mods myself! thanks for everything you do, keep up the good work man. I appreciate it!
Congrats! I purchased my 2020 si coupe back in January and I couldn’t be happier. The LED headlights, red accented interior, black wheels, gearing and Honda sensing are some great updates
I get that there are some new features, but can you do a video explaining what made it worth basically buying the same car again and eating all that depreciation?
All black wheels, slightly tweaked interior color, Honda sensing, LED headlights, Shorter final drive gear ratio, updated exterior with those new accents where the honeycomb grille used to be and adaptive sound control which basically pumps in engine noise through the speakers when in sport mode(dont know if I'd consider that an upgrade). Honestly, the only thing I could see about this being worth an upgrade is the Honda sensing if safety features are something important to you. Everything else is meh. Wheels, headlights, interior, honeycomb grille change can all be changed with aftermarket without having to buy a whole new car. The shorter final gear ratio is not worth an upgrade. A slightly faster 1/4 mile time at 15.1 vs 15.2 of the previous years and the same 0-60 at 6.8 seconds. Honestly would be more annoying when trying to cruise at highway speeds as your rpms will be about 500-600 higher.

Thanks for the love! Definitely excited to get a few mods from the old car put onto the new one 🤘. And that sounds like a fun project! Hope it all goes well for you! Cheers 🙏
Congratulations on the new car...black is the only colour to choose...my first new car was a 1998 Honda Civic dx lol, it was the best car I ever owned and I had it for 14 years with no issues, After that I bought a used 1996 si, fast fun and it lasted 6 months...I recently bought a new 2020 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line and I love it...the only upgrade is a custom axle back with a flow master Y Pipe, and it crackles, pops and sounds sick. Even though I have a soft spot for Honda I’m so glad I choose the GT N Line bc I’ve beaten every si I’ve went up against...
Congrats on picking up a 2020! I’ve been following your feed and you were one of the major reasons why I decided to get a civic si again. Jus thought a 2020 Black Si at the end of February from Herb Chambers in Boston. Can’t wait to see what you have do to this one!
Thanks man! And thanks for watching and following my work, congrats on your own 2020 so purchase too! hopefully we can link up at a meet in MA once everything opens back up 🙏
Congratulations, 2020 civic si is a great choice, I was in a dilemma between the typeR and the SI, I almost made the mistake of buying a typeR for 44k out the door. Now I’m loving my SI for literally half the price of the typeR.
Very humble video show us and updated video of the car with your parts on it see how it is! So beautiful black on black, I’m getting a black coupe June 1st!
Usually I hear advice to not trade-in a vehicle because the dealer isn't going to give you the best price on the trade-in. The only reason to do the trade-in is for convenience of getting rid of the old car.
Pawinn, congrats on the latest upgrade to a 2020 Si! I was looking at getting into one until I watching another owners video describing some of the gripes he's had with his 2020. The most annoying and probably concerning gripe he had was the Collission Mitigation Braking system. I think he mentioned that the system abruptly hit the brakes on him after the system picked-up a false-positive when a car turned in front of him and the system thought a collision was about to happen. I think the pre-2020 models (2019 or older) have not incorporated these safety nannies that create issues like this. If you run into an issue, I sure would like you to make a video about it and describe your experience. The 2020 Si owner's work-around this is to disabled the CMBS system everytime he goes out for a drive which can be pretty annoying to also do everytime. I'm looking into a 2019 Type R right now because to my understanding, those same safety nannies are being installed on the 2020 coming out this year. I hate to see those safety systems intrude in any way while driving spiritly up in the mountains and/or around city streets or just in town. Looking forward with your new journey in your new ride and the many videos I know you'll be sharing along the way!!
Totally understand where your concerns are coming from. So far I haven't had any serious issues with the new Honda sensing features, but it definitely isn't perfect. I'll be sure to make a video talking more about this once I get some solid miles in and get used to the car 🙏.
FWIW, I've put about 5000 miles on my 2020 and have had no problems with the collision mitigation braking system. Occasionally it has beeped at me when slowing into traffic towards a light, but it's never stopped the car in any way to put me in a dangerous situation. And the other stuff (lane keep, lane departure warning) you can set to off by default, or turn off with a single hard-button press on the dash.
Congrats!!! You are not alone friend. Actually i trade also my 2017 honda civic sport plus with the new FK8 2021 production model😊. The last Car left on the whole Switzerland, luckily i recieved it! Also same i take over the acuity space pedal from previos car to my new FK8 as well :-D
Had a 96 Civic Ex for about 14 years. Not the fastest car by any means but it was very reliable and you could do a ton of stuff to it aftermarket. Am seriously considering going back to Honda with the SI Coupe, not crazy about the stick shift since I'm lazy, but it might have to happen.
i started with a 96 integra, to a 2000 prelude, to a 02 4dr civic, then an rsx, then a 06 civic, to a 2013 lancer, then a 2018 civic... i keep buying the same 4cyl japanese cars. even after paying it off, im still paying a lot on gas for my commute. im currently driving a 19 tesla3 sr+. for any commuters, the price is very similar to run and you're getting a lot more. i always wanted a bmw or audi a4 but supreme fuel cost would kill me.
Nice! I got my 2020 Si Sedan in black too on Leap Day and I just love it (except for that dang rev hang!) Just subbed to get more ideas on what tunes/mods to put on my own :D
Thank you 🙏! I want 4 doors for a daily cuz I already got a project car that's a 2 door vert. I do agree the 10th gen coupes look so slick, but I like the extra room with the sedans for hauling gear/tools
Such a shame it's not a 2 door coupe...this one has more trunk and rear space for the kids my wide has it and i have the LX coupe and the rear while noticeably smaller inside looks A LOT better outside! Nice ride tho man! good video thanks!
Holy crap man, that is were I bought my Type R at. Joe Orlando my sales guy is awesome. I have bought like 3 Honda's from there. Thats so funny. I was just there last week looking at the 2020 Type R.
Aviators Dream I appreciate them words homie. Only 121k, and only thing besides maintenance that I replaced on the car was the clutch. Think previous owner beat tf out of it lol.
So what's the difference between the FK7 and the family sedan Si? They noth have the same turbo engine. Both can be tuned. The FK7 handles amazing compared to the civic sedans chassis. I just can't justify the excessive price for an Si
I want your opinion for the 2020 Genesis G70. It's the same inline 4 in the old discontinued Genesis coupe however this year they gave it a 2.5T with 290hp. Is it as good as the old Coupe? Would it be worth upgrading to?
Hey man congrats on the 2020. I have the same car and this weekend just installed the AWE Touring with PRL downpipe. Some bumps I think the rear muffler section is hitting underneath? Any suggestions? Ask when you had dual tips, did the tips hang a little low? Thanks for your help!
Going through this dilemma right now and its driving me mad. I have a 2018 Si coupe and the dealership is hounding me to upgrade to the 2020. I know it should be good to do as the 2020 is going to be the last of the coupe but i love the 2018. The thing is, if i keep the 2018 for another 2yrs i wont be able to get a coupe when its actually time to trade in. do i jump now, OR do i go for the Hyundai Veloster n and switch from Honda to Hyundai?? Seriously, this decision literally changes daily for me.
Seriously? U traded one similar car for another? In what way does this seem 🤔 a good 💡 idea? U exchange something for something way different. But these cars almost look identical.
Unless his older car was giving him issues, I don't think it was a smart idea. As someone who own a 2019 Si Coupe, I'm happy I didn't get the safety nannies and the shorter final drive... As someone who autocrosses, the less shifting the better. I can almost hit 60 in second gear, tops out at 57.
Hey why did u get the 2020 vs keeping your 2017. I know they did the facelift front and rear with better nicer headlights but overall isnt the car pretty much the same besides the little interior upgrades?
tryintogetfit24 there is also a different final drive ratio which gives the car more peppy acceleration. Thats the main reason I’d move up. It does hurt fuel economy by like 2ish mpg, but worth it for a more “sporty” feel.
@@rjbriscoe860 i have the 2019 si and tbh I dont think a shorter final drive would help. Ive heard alot of people say it should be longer. Driving on the highway at 70ish im already near 3k rpm.
tryintogetfit24 if you use your Si for the sole purpose of commuting, then yes, the longer final drive does make sense to keep revs lower for higher mpg. As for performance driving, the shorter final drive allows for quicker acceleration which is better for spirited driving.
I traded in my Type R about a year ago and I still wonder wtf I was thinking. I am looking to get another one. I still have dreams about it, lol. Ugh. I want a boost blue one.
Very nice car Pawinn. Dutch regards, Nico. PS I'm gonna sell my e36 vert next month, after 17 awesome years! It will be the first time ever, without owning a BMW.
@@Pawinning Well it's value is very high at the moment ($7500 for a mint 325i)🤑After 17 years it's time for something else. Not now but later this year we gonna buy an 2008 e93 335i. We're addicted to BMW verts, as you know. And it wil be on JB4, downpipes and a big Wagner intercooler. I hope I can get it at 400Hp on RON98. Regards, Nico.

I got the red coupe si a couple months ago, but I honestly don’t see the point in trading the exact same car, for the exact same car, I’d have waited for the new generation. I love mine, but I traded from a gas guzzling Silverado

Thanks man! And thanks for watching and following my work, congrats on your own 2020 so purchase too! hopefully we can link up at a meet in MA once everything opens back up 🙏
love my 2020 si coupe in white! added afe carbon fiber tipped exhaust, limo tint, black lugs, and stock k&n filter! Nice Si!
Congratulations, 2020 civic si is a great choice, I was in a dilemma between the typeR and the SI, I almost made the mistake of buying a typeR for 44k out the door. Now I’m loving my SI for literally half the price of the typeR.
Try and use the whole rev range during breaking period, 75% below 4000rpms and 25% above, try not to hit the limiter.
Very humble video show us and updated video of the car with your parts on it see how it is! So beautiful black on black, I’m getting a black coupe June 1st!
Sick bro. CBP 2020 Si Coupe here and no regrets. Looking forward to see what you do with this 😎
I appreciate the love! Glad you're enjoying your new civic too! More content to come :)
Cool Video bro! Here at Australia we only got the 1.5T CVT RS. Hope you enjoy the new ride!
awesome man! congrats on the new whip!
Thanks fam 🤘!
Lovely car man! Congratulations brother. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on the upgrade! Looks great.
Thanks man! 🙏
First time seeing your video bro, congrats on the new Si!
Lane keeping assist can be aggressive sometimes lol
Usually I hear advice to not trade-in a vehicle because the dealer isn't going to give you the best price on the trade-in. The only reason to do the trade-in is for convenience of getting rid of the old car.
Great video and congrats man!
Thanks fam! Looking forward to more content on your channel too ;)
Pawinn, congrats on the latest upgrade to a 2020 Si!
That feature sucks. It's good for shitty drivers that are not alert. Otherwise it's almost caused me to get into a few accidents.
Secret to great abs at 1:12 revealed: crunches under the steering wheel.
💯😂
Congrats!!!
Congrats! I want to do the same thing down the road. Love the all black look
Thank you! Yeah the old civic in silver got old for me. It's been tempting to black out the new car, trying to resist 😂
Why did you trade a 2017 for a 2020? Were there just that many more features that made it worth it?
Nope!!!
There hasnt been any major powertrain differences or tech upgrades. Better off going Type R or TLX-S when it comes out
good question, i smell a new redesign coming up soon
Congrats!!! You are not alone friend. Actually i trade also my 2017 honda civic sport plus with the new FK8 2021 production model😊. The last Car left on the whole Switzerland, luckily i recieved it! Also same i take over the acuity space pedal from previos car to my new FK8 as well :-D
See... I went from a 97 Accord to a 2016 Accord last year. Now that's an upgrade, but this..this is just to keep up with a lifestyle
YOURE FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE? LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
i started with a 96 integra, to a 2000 prelude, to a 02 4dr civic, then an rsx, then a 06 civic, to a 2013 lancer, then a 2018 civic... i keep buying the same 4cyl japanese cars. even after paying it off, im still paying a lot on gas for my commute. im currently driving a 19 tesla3 sr+. for any commuters, the price is very similar to run and you're getting a lot more. i always wanted a bmw or audi a4 but supreme fuel cost would kill me.
I’m not crying... you’re crying 😭
Can’t wait to get together for some dueling Si action!!!
Heck yeah let's make that happen 💪
I was fortunate to find a blue 20 si sedan I love it, I traded in my 07 sequoia so the experience is different for shure
The 2021 version comes with eco friendly cup holders maybe you should upgrade to that one 🤔
Ay homie have the music a bit lower next video, awesome video dude!
Nice! I got my 2020 Si Sedan in black too on Leap Day and I just love it (except for that dang rev hang!) Just subbed to get more ideas on what tunes/mods to put on my own :D
Congrats Pawinn. Is there a reason you need 4 doors? The coupe looks 10x better than the sedans IMO.
Thank you 🙏! I want 4 doors for a daily cuz I already got a project car that's a 2 door vert. I do agree the 10th gen coupes look so slick, but I like the extra room with the sedans for hauling gear/tools
Yeah I will say the coupes look alot more sportier. They make the spoiler stand out alot more.
They might as well just design the sedans like the type R but then nobody would buy a type R.
Ayeee congrats man
Thank you 🙏!
tbh there is a lot of differences between 17 and 2020. front/rear bumpers, seats, headlights wheels
Such a shame it's not a 2 door coupe...this one has more trunk and rear space for the kids my wide has it and i have the LX coupe and the rear while noticeably smaller inside looks A LOT better outside! Nice ride tho man! good video thanks!
Congratulations 👍
Thank you!
I can’t wait to get my 2020 si in December or next year. I’m saving up for the down payment right now and it’s going to be so worth it when I have it
Yo congrats it looks great look forward to the new vids👍🔥
Holy crap man, that is were I bought my Type R at. Joe Orlando my sales guy is awesome. I have bought like 3 Honda's from there. Thats so funny. I was just there last week looking at the 2020 Type R.
great video , smart swap on the cars to
New sub from the Bahamas 🇧🇸 cool vids
Why don’t you trade in for a type r?
The salesman was really happy.
What's your opinion on the wrapping processes? Is it worth paying that much money to do it?
Glad your doing good bro
Thank you, appreciate the love 🙏!
congratz man new sub here btw👍 you got thr black one fire🔥honda lets go
Seems like everyone upgrading and I’m over here looking what to do to my 07 si lmao 😂. She little old but still love her ☺️
Ur Si is hands down one of the best Si's ever made. The K20 is one of the best Honda motors ever. Be proud, ur driving a classic!
im out here buying parts for my 97 civic ek hatch 😂😂😂
@@Ricksonsaito8 The EK is a classic too!!!
Aviators Dream I appreciate them words homie. Only 121k, and only thing besides maintenance that I replaced on the car was the clutch. Think previous owner beat tf out of it lol.
lil saito 😊 we love what we love, f the haters mang 💪. I have few friends still fixing around the same year Civics.
So what's the difference between the FK7 and the family sedan Si? They noth have the same turbo engine. Both can be tuned. The FK7 handles amazing compared to the civic sedans chassis.
I just can't justify the excessive price for an Si
Where’s the update video with the 2020 si? Any mods how’s it treating you? Anything you don’t like? Getting a 2020 black coupe June so excited! :D
I am from UK and I got 1.5 2019 crystal black sport version. Black is amazing but white is nice. Not a fan of silver with black face.
Seriously? U traded one similar car for another? In what way does this seem 🤔 a good 💡 idea? U exchange something for something way different. But these cars almost look identical.
Ken Piras Kriezis Spatas my same thoughts exactly but it could be a building credit or the functions of the newer model are better lol idk
The only difference is the price.
Different gear ratios so it gets to speed faster, new safety tech, and well the obvious would be less miles lol.
This seems like a "Damn I'm bored during Quarantine, might as well get a different color car" impulsive buy.
Me: doesnt see a type r
Him: -pans the camera- oh don’t mind the type r in the back
Hey why did u get the 2020 vs keeping your 2017. I know they did the facelift front and rear with better nicer headlights but overall isnt the car pretty much the same besides the little interior upgrades?
I'll be making a video about this soon! Just taking the time to enjoy the car and rack on miles to get my bearings on the car first 🤘
tryintogetfit24 there is also a different final drive ratio which gives the car more peppy acceleration.
Maybe he leased it? 3 years is about how long a lease period is. You’d have to return it to stock before turning the car in.
Thanks for the love! And aww man sorry to hear about the sale! What motivated you selling it? What's the next game plan for a new car?
@@Pawinning Well it's value is very high at the moment ($7500 for a mint 325i)🤑After 17 years it's time for something else. Not now but later this year we gonna buy an 2008 e93 335i. We're addicted to BMW verts, as you know. And it wil be on JB4, downpipes and a big Wagner intercooler. I hope I can get it at 400Hp on RON98. Regards, Nico.
I think you may need a new full set all-weather floor liners. Do you have the interest to test OEDRO floor mats for your 2020 Honda Civic? Can't find your email.
Didn’t know you lived in New Hampshire. hope to catch you on the road one day.
Bought it even though they have oil dilution problems? 🤔🤔🤔😐
Dam brother. I didn't know you switched up to a 20. Hell yeah I got my 2020 si sedan in platinum white. Got a stage 2 acuity shift i installed like the second week i got the car, and my fully adjustable short shifter came in yesterday just trying to find a guy to put it in. Do you plan on putting any bolt ons?
All the feels. Tough to get rid of a car you love.
Do they sell the 2020 front vent at the dealers? Do you know? I have 2019 si, and I just want to replace the front vents.
I believe you can order it through dealers, but heres a good thread on this topic to check out as well! www.civicx.com/forum/threads/anyone-install-2020-front-rear-bumper-fascia-vents-yet.47952/
Thnks bro! Why didn't you go with a Type R? It is worth getting one?
Congrats on the new Si! Definitely bittersweet with all you’ve been though with the 2017. Also, curious on how much ‘peppier’ the 2020 is with the new final drive. Is it noticeable?
I do find it to be noticeable, but not much. Just enough so you don't have to down shift when passing cars 🤘
I got the red coupe si a couple months ago, but I honestly don’t see the point in trading the exact same car, for the exact same car, I’d have waited for the new generation. I love mine, but I traded from a gas guzzling Silverado
i was between a black and that steel grey or whatever it's called. didn't get it but was set on black
Why does the front look like the hatchback is confusing
