@@GeneTheDude The singer wrote the song, if he didn’t mean for it to be interpreted that way he wouldn’t have approved of the music video (or actually suggested it) especially since it’s considered ‘controversial’ for its message in times of violent crimes against the LGBTQ+ in Russia. You did not even try to break down the lyrics, because you’re so triggered the fact that the video portrays a gay couple. This song can have various interpretations, for example the one in the music video where a gay couple is vilified and targeted for their relationship. “I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies” “I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife” “Worship in the bedroom” “There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin” is exactly what can be interpreted that way. But you go as far as to say that the video RUINED the song for you. I’m sorry but that’s your own hate and prejudice. If you really appreciated music, it wouldn’t matter if it was about a straight couple or a gay couple and other people having different interpretations wouldn’t get your panties in a twist.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Just hearing about it, at that. No one should have to experience that. All because they love someone.

I used to work with a guy that was gay, genuinely lovely bloke, and after months of working with him we finally found out that most days on his way home there'd be a bunch of lads waiting for him to attack him, spit on him, shout shit at him. Enough to really fuck him up but not leave any marks you know. One of the days they gave him a black eye though so that's how we found out about it.
We were furious, this was a friend of ours, and a good friend at that, he was the kinda bloke that would go outta his way to help you out you know. We offered to walk him home, whichever of us that would finish at the same times as him, me and a bunch of others, the security guards too. We were big fellas like, I was a bouncer too on weekends at the time, so at the very least it'd act as a deterrent, but he declined though appreciative making a good point that it'd only cause more trouble for him for times when we weren't around and that it was just something he was used to anyway. No one should have to be "used to" that kind of treatment. But we had to respect his wishes.
Still upsets me to this day to even think that people could treat someone like that for such a petty reason!

@@Gazzl33t I don't know you but I sooooooo appreciate you! People from when I was 13 and up (I'm 47 now) would always ask me why I walked with my head down or wouldn't respond if someone called my name. I told them that in my head if I didn't make eye contact with anyone then I wouldn't get beat up or harassed. I still find myself doing it still from time to time but have pretty much broken myself out of it. Every once in a while I guess the world gives me a reminder how some people suck when someone yells "fagott" at me. I remember I was like 6 or 7 and my Aunt Arlene's last 2 days of high school she brought me with her. Her best friend was gay and I had a blast cuz he'd sit and color with me and he was going to go to college for art in N.Y., this was like 1980 or 81. I found out a few years ago when I asked her what ever happened to him and she said not even 3 months after high school ended he was murdered in N.Y.. By the way, the school was in Windsor Vermont, USA. She said he was walking home from work and was jumped by 3 "men" for being gay and beat to death with 2 baseball bats and a lead pipe. Actually that has ALWAYS been my biggest fear, is to be killed for being gay.

I love this. My high school best friend (Years ago now) got kicked out by his family for being gay and my parents had been homophobic "It's against God" people before that, but the day he showed up at our house cause he had nowhere to go, they almost instantly went "There is nothing wrong with you, we love you". It's so much easier to love than hate. That's why my brother (a lot younger, he was born 10 years after me) was never scared to go "Hey can I buy a skirt?" to them. He's bisexual like me, not a girl, but he just likes his long pretty blonde hair and wearing skirts and always paints his nails, and he felt safe because my parents only needed one instance of a kid they cared about being turned out in the cold cause he had a boyfriend to go "Yeah no. None of that." I loved this reaction because you said it just like it should be. That nobody should hurt somebody for being different.

We arent descriminated againts by the majority, not anymore and definetley not in a country as free as america with half of our population being mindlessly woke and brittle. As dave chappelle once said "i like em old school gays, these newet ones, they too brittle" also people eith different values who respect your rights to live while disagreeing with the idea of same sex relationship isnt discrimination, just deal with the fact that sone people have different values.
As many of my conservstive buddies say "we respect othets vslues as long as they dont force it onto us".
Personally for me i believe in a mix of liberal and conservative values but im also republican.
And yes, i am bisexual, i cane this conclusion when i met a femboy and he got me bricked up 🤣😂.
I believe people have the right to be trans but i dont agree with it until they turn at least 18-25 when is which brains fully develope.
But i also live in reality enough to realize a trans man can never truly be a man and a trans woman can never be a true woman.
I respect religous people as long as they dont use religion as an excuse for everything or abuse their religious beliefs.
And yes your personslity can be what you want it to br as long as your not basing it soley off of your sexual preferences.
Also i still aint an adult quite yet so you can say my brain just isnt developed to quite understand but ill disagree to any statement of such.

For Shawn that kept getting that disgusted face look every time he saw two guys kiss...He didn't say "I was born sick", he said, "We were born sick, you heard them say it". Then you have the nerve to say they need church! Really? That's the whole point of this song. Church is where they preach all this hatred against the gay community, and we have to deal with the assault, abuse, attacks or just general ostricizing from people. I was kicked out of my parents home because they found out I was gay. (Jehovah's Witnesses) That was over 30 years ago. (Not blaming all churches but where there's smoke.....)

Did I ever get a whole different perspective of this song then what I thought all these years. All I can say is we all gotta be better people, and I implore everyone, please please please, for all that is good in this world, stop documenting things with your cell phones sitting idly by while things happen... if you see something going down, step up and step in as if it were your loved one in trouble and in need of help... The only way stuff like this will end is if everybody stands up collectively, takes action and does something about it... I guess all i have to say is love and protect each other!! Keep up the good work you guys!! 💙🔥

It may be new to them, but as a group who have been unjustly and regularly persecuted, they should be the biggest and most vocal advocate/defenders of the LGBTQ community. Kudos to Mel for her compassion and reaction to what happens everyday to LGBT people around the world. In many countries they are executed or beheaded for simply being who they were born to be.
