I love how in the first shot Hasselhoff himself made KITT move sideways almost standing still like the car was defying the laws of physics.
If you look closely, rear wheels spin until the very last moment. He pushed the throttle while pushing the brake with his left foot. That's why the rear of the car could keep moving sideways, although the car was practically standing in place. It also looks like he must have used the handbrake to make the car start going sideways, before he good to the left-foot braking trick.
He was a really good driver. The man could do a career these days when they let actors do a lot more stunting. Could have been the modern Steve McQueen or Jackie Chan of driving stunts.
Great driving indeed. Especially impressive since he was doing the stunt between metal beams
Knight rider was atleast 5 centuries ahead of its time
