I have only heard it pronounced Fonts. I don't know if it's like Joe Theisman. It's really supposed to be pronounced as Theez-min, but his PR guy talked him into pronouncing it as Thighs-min to rhyme with Heisman. Theisman for Heisman.....it didn't work.
A history largely of misery. Great uniforms and helmet though. I used to hope to see them win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Now I just hope they will get there...
@@AFakeCreative When did the NFC Championship become the Super Bowl? Get there then win it. BTW: Name another great RB whose career was wasted on mediocre teams even worse than that of Barry Sanders? Hint: he played in the 1960s.
Strange that you would group Joe Schmidt, one of the greatest Lions ever in my opinion, with LeBeau, Lane, Larry, and leave out the fourth member of Lion’s D backfield, Gary Lowe. The 4 L’s were a dominant defensive backfield for a number of years. Otherwise, I enjoyed your video.
The arrival of Dan Campbell was a breath of fresh air for the Lions, and here they are now in 2024, and they are getting closer to the Super Bowl. So close, that I can almost taste it!
They need to get interior defensive linemen, a great linebacker and to remember the Carolina game. That’s the game that essentially knocked them out of the playoffs. Trenches are where games are won. Just look at the Bengals and the 49ers. Nobody is talking about Carolina but they’re going to be good. Lions play them again next year. Time for payback, a division title and a playoff win!
The Detroit Lions have bitten off a lot of kneecaps and taken a lot of chunks out of teams on their way up in the 2023-24 season. And now who have entered into the playoffs, even though they get knocked down but yet keep getting back up and continue to bite off kneecaps and taken chunks out of teams, in which results in a two playoff victories at home in franchise history. For the second time in 32 years (from 1991-92 season to the 2023-24 season), reach the NFC Championship to take on the San Francisco 49ners. The long time Bobby Lane curse is now being broken by this new batch of Lions. Let me know if you like this comment. Thank you and God bless. GO LIONS GO! Be continue...
We never had that good of a QB. And head coach. Our front office sucked. I Always Said the fish rots from the head down. We will NEVER GET ANYWHERE With a bad front office. Now we have Shelia. Now we are blessed. We will be winning our Division and going to the Super Bowl very soon.
@@bobma6342 well Bob. Just look at how it was in the past with ownership and crappy GMs and coaches. Also the draft. I mean Brad Holmes has been awesome at drafting. In the past we couldn’t even get a 1st round that was any good. I understand where you’re coming from but the prouf has been there for 3 years now. We have great coaches that can develop players now. We have something special now. I’m 63 and we have never had what we have now.

You may have finished first in the north but you have not been to the Super Bowl the Detroit loin s are the only NFC team that has never been to the Super Bowl ha ha you guys choked in the second half against the 49 ers
See ya don’t show the whole picture. There’s the process of the catch, and the ten second run off. And the Jim Schwartz red flag. And the Stephen Tulloch discount double knee injury. And swatting the ball out of the back of the end zone. And the Justin Tucker FG.
I'm sure someone else has said this, but Wayne pronounced his last name as fonts not fontez. 😂

Also Campbell was on the 0-16 team!
Can’t wait to see an update after this season

@@drbonesshow1 relax. Ima lions fan. This was a celebratory post . It’s that negativity and paper bag BS that makes lions fans jokes. NOT the team.

He’s garbage too he blew a 17 point lead at the half by stupid dumb coaching decisions.
It's the Lions, what you taste will be Toilet Bowl
Why didnt say anything about HOF'mers Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, Chris Spielman, also them drafting 3 wide reciever bust No1 3 years in a row
Great job! And great video! It was well put together and very informative.

Great observation Ken. That Carolina game is going to be a statement game whatever the outcome.
The game that held the Lions back was the tie game between Washington and the Giants. Tie games end up costing teams playoffs as well!
So nobody remember the Lions getting shutout by the Patriots 33-0?!
@@mikewojnar6254it was 29-0 And that was during their 1-6 stretch, Before they figured out how to win games.

the reason the Lions scored 59 on the Browns, is solely because the Browns scored 56 3 years prior.
Ports myth is how you pronounce it
Thank you for letting me know! I do apologize for any mispronunciation.

Detroit Lions
And now we're NFC North champs lets go
And now we've racked up 2 playoff wins and are in the conference championship
Ford owns the Detroit Lions, maybe if the Lions change their name to the "Detroit Mustangs" they'll probably win the Superbowl.

Kneecaps and yes most comprehensive history of the Pride i' ve seen
