Varaha Avatar - Third Avatar Of Vishnu
Hiranyaksha was the first and greatest demon that ever walked this earth. He wore golden anklets, a golden girdle, golden bracelets on his arms, golden armour and a crown of gold. To obtain this gold he mined the earth. He considered the earth as his property to do with as he wished, and so he mined her deeper and deeper - so deep that Mother Earth lost her inner balance and fell from her position in space. Plunging to the depths she came to rest in the primeval waters which lie at the very bottom of the universe. There she lay, lost and helpless in the darkness.
Varaha had a boon from Lord Brahma that no beast, nor man, nor god could kill him. Vishnu saw the distress of the earth planet as she was lying in the dark ocean. So, Vishnu took the form of a gigantic boar, Varaha, and entered the universe to rescue the earth from the deep. It is said that he first appeared in a tiny form no larger than a thumb, and steadily grew until he seemed to fill the heavens. Although a boar is normally considered to be an ugly animal, Varaha was most beautiful. All the demigods and sages sung his glories as he dived into the ocean to rescue Earth. Meanwhile Hiranyaksha, not caring for the earth’s predicament, roamed about restlessly looking for someone with whom to do battle. As Varaha was picking up the earth on his tusks, the angry demon came upon him and eagerly challenged him to fight. He pushed the Earth to the Pataal loka, or the under of the sea. He stole the Vedas, the holy scriptures from the Lord Brahma, while he was asleep and performed huge atrocities. There was a great battle, fought for the sake of the Earth, in which the demon finally lost his life. Varaha picked up the earth with his two tusks and carefully restored her to her proper position in space and retrieved the Vedas from the asura and brought it back to the safe custody of the Lord Brahma.

Varāha is a boar that was chosen, once more, as a symbol.
Boars use to charge those who bother them.
In the same manner Lord Vishnu does when something bothers Him.
It is mostly a symbol of Divine attitude.
The "ocean" represents the Universe.
"The waters of above" in many cultures represent the Cosmo.
Many ancient civilizations used to picture the Universe like a vast sea.
The ancient Egyptians used to compare the heavens to an ocean, and then later, also in the Bible it was recorded like that.
Let's say that, it was a time, long ago, when the Planet was "attacked" by a negative force that doomed Earth to become as desert as Venus and its vitality had to be preserved.

Archeological survey, satellite images etc, have proved. Saraswati river that had disappeared was proven by satellite images, Ram Setu between India and Sri Lanka are also located, Dwarika that is submerge under sea has been found near coast of Gujarat.

In Hinduism they believe that there is one supreme reality called Brahman. Everything in the world including the "gods" of Hinduism are all part of this. The Idea of an Avatar is to highlight or show an aspect of the supreme reality's divinity. You can see this in the other "gods" of Hinduism with their distinct features and tools like drums or swords.
The idea in Hinduism isn't that these stories are literally true (although some people do like to think it is true and there is nothing wrong with that) but to express concepts and Ideas to people in an indirect way while also adding to the cultural richness of the culture it is in.
Most Hindus today don't really know anything about their own religion. Most don't know any of the Upanishads or know the plot of Mahabharata but they trust the process of experiencing divinity through Murti worship which thy pick a deity that they feel an attraction to and then focus on that aspect of divinity inn the quest to experience divinity themselves and a person likes this avatar then by all means they can go for it.

The problem with Hinduism in the west is that English itself is a pretty horrible language for translating Sanskrit terms so we end up using words that don't reflect the actual meaning. For example Atman in Sanskrit doesn't actually have a translation word but the closest thing is soul. It's obviously not a soul but there quite literally isn't a word that accurately desires atman.
With this established supreme reality can also mean enlightenment or a state in which a person reaches the apex of self actualization. Divinity is the closest word in English but I encourage you to learn basic Sanskrit to get a deeper understanding.
How do we reach this supreme reality? Well for starters you are already in it so give yourself a pat on the back. But asking this question is like trying to explain the color red to a person who was born blind. It's just something you have to experience for yourself. In Hinduism there are many ways and Hindus are taught not to believe anything without questioning and experiencing it for oneself. I encourage you to try it for you really want to know.
Also, Hinduism is quite a culture. It produces festivals, names, etc that is its own culture.
I also used "gods" in quotes because again it's all part of the supreme reality we live in.
Also, nothing wrong with "imaging" ways to describe reality. Hindus have been pumping out math and science for a while and I don't see them stopping any time soon.

I'd prefer to be civil as I think it is key to an honest discussion about ideas like Hinduism. I never disagreed that the color red doesn't exist. I said that explaining the color red to a person born blind is impossible. You have to see the color red to truly understand what it is.

This is kind of weird to me as what you feel isn't either true or false but a sense of state. It's like asking if experiencing anger is True or False.

How do we know one has experienced anger? We go through the feeling and just feel it, then we can converse with each other to find out if it is the same experience. Different experiences have lead to different schools of thought in Hinduism including atheism.

The first thing I learned was this and I'm not even Indian. I know a lot of Indians don't really know anything about their own religion and typically just blindly follow Murti worship but any serious study of the religion will require that you experience divinity and question what you are told.

Well I already told you that you live in he supreme reality and you can learn more by consulting gurus who reached enlightenment. I also explained that using stories to explain concepts isn't anything new. Cultures have been doing that since day one. Also, my point was that having a culture doesn't prevent people from learning about science and math. You can still be grounded in reality while also appreciating the culture that your forefathers died to preserve.
