I'm a Canadian who spent 12 years in Morocco, travelled extensively to every part of the country, west to east and north to south all the way down to the desert and I will confirm that you definitely have Moroccan features. You blend in perfectly, particularly as you will travel further south. In Marrakech, at first glance, everyone will think you are definitely Moroccan, 100%. Morocco has the most varried topography and scenery on earth wrapped into a single country (I've travelled by road to dozens of countries all the way to India and back) and also is inhabitted by among the most friendly people on earth. Enjoy your travels but do not venture up into the Atlas mountains, not at this time of the year. It's deep snowy winter up there.
My husband is Moroccan so I've visited and I'm currently here without him, staying with his family. Morrocans are amazingly kind and generous people! Yes, you may come across a few who aren't, but that's ANYWHERE! Definitely not the norm. I absolutely love Morocco and consider it my home as much as America!
What a wonderful vlog! My sister visited Morocco and told me exactly what you experienced. She also said that when the locals and shop keepers realised that she wax Palestinians she literally had to fight to pay for the food and souvenirs she liked. Many tried to let her leave her hotel and stay with their family. Last time I spoke to her she was in tears at Morocco's defeat against France in FIFA 2022. 😊

Thank you so much for saying what you guys are really experiencing in your journey in Morocco 🇲🇦 So far it is the truth about especially People of Morocco the Moroccans. bad reviews come from certain countries that are neighboring us I am going to share this video with my friends and family Enjoy your stay, your food in the kingdom of Morocco
Honestly we’re just having the most amazing time and we have felt so welcome everywhere we have been. Our daughter Ady gets especially amazing treatment, it’s lovely. Thanks so much for watching and sharing the video we really appreciate it ❤️🇲🇦
Been to Morocco twice, once with my child who was 8yrs old at the time and then with friends. Each experience was different but both good. Morocco is a family/child friendly place, everywhere we went with my son he got a lot of pats on the head, cheek squeezes and little freebies from shop keepers. With friends(all female) we felt safe and welcomed for the most part but a word of warning there will be some people who will try to divert you to following them in the guise of helping you find your way but in reality are trying to pressure you into buying from a particular vendor or get you alone to (god forbid) rob you. Mostly safe in Morocco and the people are lovely, just obviously exercise some caution and common sense like you would do anywhere else.
Your experience has been good because you are positive and have a great attitude. And when you spread positive energy you get it back. Really lovely family.
So true! Positivity brings Positivity. I love how she didn't have to wear a scarf but she DID wear one anyway out of respect. It takes humble positive people to appreciate what life gives them.
Welcome brother to Morocco, enjoy your trip with your family 😍🇲🇦 And yes you look like a moroccan man from Marrakech or Ouarzazat ( south of Morocco ). I advice you to visit Ouarzazat, Merzouga , Toudgha , such beautiful cities. Morocco is full of different cultures 🇲🇦
Glad you had a good time in Morocco , i'm Moroccan myself and i do love to travel i get the fact that people might be afraid to explore new cultures and countries but i came to realize that you find bad and good everywhere you go , for my case i felt unsafe in some places in Europe as someone wearing hijab for example ... Great videos by the way and yes you do look like someone from the south !
We completely agree, no matter where you go you’ll have good and bad experiences. We’re so happy though that so far in Morocco we’ve just had the best time and felt so welcome. Sorry to hear you’ve had some bad experiences in Europe. From the south! Ok, great to hear you think so too 😀❤️🇲🇦
Yes, you definitely look like Moroccan from either Marrakesh or the south. I’m glad that you, and your spouse have a positive attitude, and open mind toward different cultures, and customs. Moroccans are normally very friendly, and hospitable people. However, like any other place in the world, whether in Soho or in East NewYork, you might run into a Rotten apple along the way. Thus, your family trip experience will be unique, and your daughter will never forget this family adventure. Welcome to Morocco, you still have so much to see, and so many videos to make. Have an enjoyable journey. Cheers,
Yes this is very true, we’ve just had the most amazing experience here so far. There’s so much more to see that we know already that we will have to come back 😀 But we’re just trying to enjoy every minute whilst were here. Many thanks ☺️❤️🇲🇦
welcome brother in Morocco . As a Moroccan by birth in Germany, I know very well the prejudices many Europeans have about us. They think we in Morocco drive camels and walk barefoot in the sand, our roads are unpaved. Enjoy your time with your family. You are welcome, every time .
I just love honest and positive tourists as you are guys, some just try digging so hard to find any single negative stuff on the country as if all the countries are perfect while ignoring dozens of positive sides, may God bless your family, thank you and you’re welcome anytime ❤
I’ve travelled in Morocco many times with my wife, we’ve had amazing encounters and my wife made a friend over 10 years ago who managed a Riad we stayed at in Marrakech, they regularly message and send each other little gifts, very sweet with no other angle. It’s over 20 years since I first visited and for those in the UK it’s a short trip and feels like the bridge out of Europe in some ways. It’s worth reading a little on the history, French/ Spanish colonists, Berbers etc to get a little understanding of how it’s been influenced and why the people look so diverse. Something James said about people asking if he’s Moroccan made me smile, I’m mixed Indian/ White and when I say I’m British I often get a surprised reaction (that I’m not Arab) with ‘No Original?’ It’s kind of fun and always makes me smile!
Mr.Marrakchy 😄 it makes me happy to know and see how it's been great for you as family to visit our country. You all are welcome to come over when ever you want 👍🏼
Indeed you look Moroccan.., you look like if you are from my family ;) we are from Rissani / Errachidia. (Les Sahraoui de l’Est). Thanks for the videos… PS. I am Moroccan living in Brighton and working in London :) … you are doing something I was dreaming to do!!
So glad you're enjoying it, I knew you would. I think the respect you're showing their culture is being repaid so hats off to you for embracing it. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.
Thank you, we’re honestly loving it it’s just amazing. If you do have the chance to get out here in your van we’d highly recommend it. Hope you’re well ☺️
You really really looks like you from Marrakech 👌🏼 I wish you and your little family a fantastic experience and a great tour all over Morocco ❤ and I recommend you when you visit Marrakech to eat the Tanjia it’s a typical traditional dish in Marrakech also I would highly recommend you to try little of the underground grilled whole lamb when you visit Jamaa el Fna Square in Marrakech but make sure you go there before 3pm otherwise you will find the grilled lamb finished… all the best my *Marrakchi* brother 😃
It is always a pleasure to welcome tourists from all over the world. Morocco is like Moroccans, simple, welcoming and peaceful. You will always be welcome in this country. indeed you seem to be a native of Marrakech or Ouarzazate (which is known for shooting cinematographic films like "Gladiator, asterix and obelix and many other great films")
You do have the most important thing that the Moroccan culture loves on human being is you and your wife are humble people . The rest it's just things and material..Thank you very much..
Thank you guys for your sincere reviews and you can consider Morocco as your second country and you'll be always more than welcome! A Big Hug to Heidi 😊

Ah so glad to hear that, that’s exactly what we were hoping to do. It’s an absolutely incredible place to visit in a van, we hope you have an amazing time when you do visit ❤️

This video made me so happy! Moroccan here, based in London 😅 You 💯 look Moroccan. Marrakech for sure and south. Hope you keep having the best time. Don’t be alarmed if people invite you back to their place, after a short conversation; they’re generally just hospitable. A habit im still trying to get rid of here in the uk. Lol
You look like you're a Merrakchi, totally. Everything in your face is sooo Merrakchi. It's eerie. So glad you took the time to document your experience in my home country.
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing i agree, I would say Marrakech, Rachidiya or Zagora. You should try run a DNA ancestry test. Who knows, you might find out you're 🌟Moroccan descendant. Cheers!
Thank you for your videos and spontaneous honesty about your experiences and impressions. As you have noticed Morocco is a land of cultural and ethnic diversity and hundreds of flaviours. I have watched almost all your videos. I can conclude that your experience has been mainly positive, I am very happy for that. I think that one of the important reasons behind that is your open-minded attitude and non-prejudicial perception. Being careful but still you try to see the best aspects in peoples during your encounters. Moroccans are in general very welcoming and heterophiles. It is quite often that people can easily invite you to their home and show you the hospitality of which they are famously celebrated. I hope that sojourn will continue on the same track, positive and pleasant. If you have time in your way to the North I advise you to visit Fès, Meknes, Chefchaoun and Tetouan. Coming to your question: I think that your physical appearance ressembles in general to many Moroccans but it is closer to people in Southern Morocco especially Marrakech. Why? This city is famous for its mixture (by marriage) of peoples of Berber, African, Arab and Andalusian ethnic backgrounds. All the best, Abou Sami. PS. In my view, your physical appearance, your couple status and the baby angel with you has been positively an attractive element in your interaction with people around you.
Thanks so much for this! We are just about to get the ferry across to Morocco and have had nothing but negative opinions and worry! So thank you!! Now we can't wait to be there!
That’s great to hear, there’s definitely a lot of negative stuff out there but our experience has just been amazing so far. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do 😀❤️

Enjoyed the video and I'm happy you enjoyed also your family trip in my beautiful country. I didn't see any street or part of my town Tangier, but I assume you've already been there in another video or will be included on your next trip (yeah, because this is a land when you come back for sure). Otherwise, you seriously need to check your family tree or ancestors record because you're a certified Marrakech guy for sure. Next time visit Marrakech, Fes and Tangier... Welcome Anytime.
We are actually heading to tangier later this week and really excited to explore it. And we’ll definitely be coming back to visit morocco again, you’re right 😀 I’ll have to get a dna test done to confirm my heritage 😅❤️🇲🇦

In town, you don't miss going to café Haffa, and old medina.. Have a nice trip.
Than you for this wonderful video, I want to mention my gratitude to Sarah for respecting the culture and the mosque by wearing a scarf even when it was not mandatory, it's very appreciated. When I first saw James, I also taught him may be originally from Morocco, frankly he looks like he can be from anywhere in Morocco today.
Thank you for such a lovely comment, we really appreciate it. Yes, I found it quite interesting that people have said that I look like I’m from a specific place! It’s really nice to look Moroccan anyway and it’s a lot of fun when people speak to me and are so shocked 😀

I honestly thought you were morocan when i first saw your videos . And yes , you look like people from Marrekesh. Welcome to Morocco . And i hope you have an amazing stay in Morocco with zero 0 problem. Thank you
I know why people would say that the vendors would sometimes be hussle-ly, it's because they only visit Marrakesh which is pretty hectic even for Moroccans themselves and they don't take the time to explore other cities, if you guys make it to Marrakesh you'd notice it's a little more hussle-ly than the rest of the country, however, it's still a very beautiful city to explore ! If someone hussles you just say "no thank you" or "I'll come back" in a nice way & they'll leave u alone with a smile. I've seen some youtubers get angry from people asking them to come inside their shops and refusing to do so in a kinda harsh way, if you treat people bad they'll treat you bad too.
Yeah that’s probably true, I guess most people do just visit Marrakesh or Fes. We’re definitely going to go to Marrakesh but we’re prepared for it to be a bit more intense so hopefully we can just enjoy it 😄🇲🇦❤️
I thought ur morroccan at the first time I saw u. I am very glad that u found morrocco a humble and safe place for u, ur wife and ur toddler. (She is so adorable). If u wear a morroccan outfit u will look like a morroccan. Your wife also could look like a morroccan from the outscurt of Rif. They have a very light skin.
You really look like someone from Marrakesh 😊 to answer your question. And thank you very much for showing my country in his full glorious truth, we suffer a lot from many negative stereotypes abroad; many speak bad about Morocco even if they never been to. God bless
Lovely video. What sort of GPS did you use on the roads ? Does it work every where in Morocco? Also did you have a back up plan if your camper broke down ?
Thank you, we just use Google maps - we have Moroccan SIM cards but also downloaded maps to be safe and it worked perfectly everywhere we went. With regards breakdown cover, we didn’t get any. Obviously potentially a bit of a risk but things are so relatively cheap in Morocco that we would have just paid for recovery etc. had we broken down.

I am glad you guys are having a great experience in My Beloved Country , I loved your notes about the experiences and how they varied, every place has the good and the bad of it , I would Say the bad experiences for tourists are usually those with the hustlers and I think that is most seen in Cities like Marakkech & Fez and that's just the way it is even for the locals, However , everywhere else you'll have a great time . For the food , you really experience Moroccan food and its diversity when you are invited or have some local friends who'll take the time to cook it the right way , because Restaurants don't do it its due most of the time but i was happy , you went to the right places so far , and I hope the Saraha desert and Chefchaouen are on your list as well , you'll have a totally different experience in these two places.

Thats true brother , you look like a morrocan from Marrakech or Zagora, Because Marrakesh use to be capital of Morrocan empire , and it got huge ties with the South, so many morrocans from south are mixed Berber , Arabs and of african roots.

Great video! I'm Moroccan who is American citizen , I do get that question if morocco is safe to visit.. I'm currently commenting from essaouira.. so magical in here and the people are very polite and super friendly here .. they used to tourists since early ages .. the only thing that I can be honest about .. my trip to Marrakech was enjoyable , but the only thing that was little annoying is some of the vendors can get a little pushy trying to sell you stuff... I've been in most of morocco and it's always been remarkable memories .. just don't let my honest comment discourge you from visiting Marrakech, you just have to say NO to those vendors and walk away from if not interested in what they selling.. if interested learn how to bargain there.. Enjoy your trip in Morocco and sure you will want to visit again 😊
Yeah we never had any concerns over how safe it was here and we’ve been proved absolutely correct, but we definitely had a few people telling us they were worried or asking how safe it was. Ah thank you. But really the people we have met are what have made our trip so special so far. We’ve felt so welcomed ❤️🇲🇦
So true! Positivity brings Positivity. I love how she didn't have to wear a scarf but she DID wear one anyway out of respect. It takes humble positive people to appreciate what life gives them.
Welcome brother to Morocco, enjoy your trip with your family 😍🇲🇦
And yes you look like a moroccan man from Marrakech or Ouarzazat ( south of Morocco ).
I advice you to visit Ouarzazat, Merzouga , Toudgha , such beautiful cities.
Morocco is full of different cultures 🇲🇦
Thank you, and thanks for the tips as well, we’ll definitely try to visit some of those places 😀🇲🇦❤️
Ok, great to hear you think so too 😀❤️🇲🇦
This is so true, have respect for all cultures I say. We feel very safe in Morocco 🇲🇦

I think your ancestors came from the region of errachidia from the atlas
@@gavinsteiner3759 you and you're familly are amazing
Yes, you definitely look like Moroccan from either Marrakesh or the south. I’m glad that you, and your spouse have a positive attitude, and open mind toward different cultures, and customs. Moroccans are normally very friendly, and hospitable people. However, like any other place in the world, whether in Soho or in East NewYork, you might run into a
Rotten apple along the way.
There are definitely a lot of misconceptions. We absolutely love it here 😀❤️🇲🇦
You look 100% like someone from Marakech / Taroudant .
Welcome to Morocco and wish you the best .
Thank you for describing fairly and honestly this wonderful land. Enjoy your holidays and have a nice trip back home
We’ve had such a wonderful experience so far. We’re still here for a couple more months and we’re excited to see more of this country 😁
The kindness acts toward kids in Morocco as a Moroccan is a friendly way to show welcome and friendly heart welling to the parent through their kids.
I just love honest and positive tourists as you are guys, some just try digging so hard to find any single negative stuff on the country as if all the countries are perfect while ignoring dozens of positive sides, may God bless your family, thank you and you’re welcome anytime ❤
Yeah we much prefer to try and be open minded and just enjoy ourselves. And Morocco has been the most amazing country to visit so far, we love it ❤️🇲🇦
Yes you do look like Moroccan from Zagoura. Really appreciate your video about Morocco 😍😍😍
Morocco is a very beautiful, relaxing and welcoming place ❤
It really is!
Mr.Marrakchy 😄 it makes me happy to know and see how it's been great for you as family to visit our country. You all are welcome to come over when ever you want 👍🏼

Thanks so much for the recommendations, both of those dishes sound amazing so we will definitely try them. We’re excited to experience Marrakesh 🇲🇦❤️
It is always a pleasure to welcome tourists from all over the world.
Morocco is like Moroccans, simple, welcoming and peaceful.

indeed you seem to be a native of Marrakech or Ouarzazate (which is known for shooting cinematographic films like "Gladiator, asterix and obelix and many other great films")

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do 😀❤️
I watch the video with tears in my eyes 🥺, so proud of my dear country. mile thank you to you for sharing your experience in Morocco, you correct the image of my country among many people who think that Morocco is dangerous, I will share your video with joy and I am a little sad not to be able to welcome you to my home in Rabat, welcome to Morocco consider it as your second country and thank you once again 🥰❤
Ah thank you that’s so lovely of you to say. We’ve loved every minute of our time here so far and we really enjoyed Rabat as well, beautiful city! Thanks again ❤️❤️

Thank you very much ☺️❤️🇲🇦
I know why people would say that the vendors would sometimes be hussle-ly, it's because they only visit Marrakesh which is pretty hectic even for Moroccans themselves and they don't take the time to explore other cities, if you guys make it to Marrakesh you'd notice it's a little more hussle-ly than the rest of the country, however, it's still a very beautiful city to explore !

Those are definitely on our list to visit, we’re really excited to explore more. Ok, we must try and get an invite to someone’s house to eat then. We’ll work on that 😅 And the food must be mind blowing if it’s Better than what we’ve already been eating! 😀🇲🇦❤️

Thats true brother , you look like a morrocan from Marrakech or Zagora,
Because Marrakesh use to be capital of Morrocan empire , and it got huge ties with the South, so many morrocans from south are mixed Berber , Arabs and of african roots.
Ah that makes a lot of sense and explains why I got told I look like I’m from Marrakesh specifically! Thank you for the info 👍😊
Thank you for everything and I wish you both eternal happiness and may God protect you
You are definitely a guy from Marrakech and I personally have multiple friends from there who I wouldn't question even slightly if they tell me that you are related to them 😁 I bet if you do a DNA test you would find a considerable percentage of your DNA coming from Morocco !
We’ve definitely heard that sort of thing about Marrakech, hopefully we’ll be prepared enough that if it does happen we’ll be able to navigate it without too many issues, we’ll see how it goes! Thanks for the tips ❤️🙌
