My 40’s have been riddled with injuries and subsequent surgeries and recoveries. I have couple of years left until I’m 50, and I hope to get some of my health and quality of life back - thank you for the inspiration.
This is so valuable and really does pay off! I became focused on my health when I was trying to get pregnant in my mid to late 20's. I am now 68. I am the only healthy person in my circle of friends! I have always been a healthy weight. I adopted a whole foods plant based diet in 1975. Still eating this way and feeling great. Never smoked but was a social drinker. Gave up alcohol last year. I walk 10km per day and have been doing that for 20 years now. My 40 year old sons usually can't keep up with me. I do yoga sometimes but not enough. I'm working on that.
Thank you. I’m 59 and retired. I like your concepts and practices. I’m on board. I told my family that if I reach my 70th birthday, I will be happy and successful. Any time after that, is a gift and blessing.
As a 39 year old I find myself doing many of these as time goes on. Always learning and always striving for more to maintain self-actualization. The things you do every day, consistently, help determine the rest of your life.
I am so proud of myself that I am thinking about all of these things in the beginning of my 30s 😅 especially suprising one for me was that I started thinking about being more careful with my hearing and loud music now that I am 30. Great channel, keep up the good work 👍
Dan honestly I love your videos, they're always so helpful. I may not be near my 40s yet, but this feels like it it's something I should have heard in my teens. Thank you so much for this.
I have achorious tinnitus as well. This seems to be a common problem many people face, especially post-COVID. Thanks for mentioning and sharing this message. Although I’ve learned to adapt and live alongside it, I understand how painful it is-it feels like having a train rolling over your brain 24/7. I don’t want others to suffer the same fate, simply because they’re unaware of the impacts of hearing loss.
Excellent list for living a healthy happy long life. I am 67 and adhere to many of these tips, rules. My kids don’t listen to their mom but maybe they’ll listen to you 🙏. I am passing this video along to them (38 & 40) TY ❤
This may sound weird but raising my shoulders for a while throughout my day when I’m just chillin has helped me engage a whole plethora of muscle groups I normally don’t feel. It’s suuuuuuper nice
Tied to green box exercise would be swedish cleaning - which I guess came from Swedish practice of cleaning out their house/belongings as they get into senior years so as not to burden their inheritors with a ton of crap to clean out. As part of that process, they ask their children which keepsakes they want which also eliminates any fighting over things.
What’s your suggestion of the best place to get blood work done? It’s a great idea and I keep thinking I should more but at regular doctor they don’t do what all I’d like
Staying active throughout the day makes everything so much better, for the mind and body 😊☀️ Greetings from 36 🔥 Eating to 80% full definitely is a great tip too, together with real natural whole foods, and intermittent fasting 👌
Fast running is damaging for my knees so not that cardio. For me best cardio would be to swim under water surface for some 20 meters at the commune pool.
Your comment about funerals... I must say, one thing I've noticed as a guy a bit older than you (but relates to the 40's). I've recently been struck by how many friends, family, acquintances, who I've recently reconnected with or just hadn't seen for awhile... how many of them talk about being on some sort of medication (be it anxiety, hbp, diabetes). And these would not be people I would've considered unhealthy.

I did what I wanted to do and what I've done, I've done with sincerity and to the best of my ability. You can't expect much more from life." Bruce Lee.
my guy using the same clip of him running in all "40 things" videos. cool but kinda funny. or runs in the exact same way (place, attire and camera angle) in every video idk lol

Well past my 40s and living proof that what you are saying stacks up. It is not about living forever but that life is sooooo much better if you are fit Still rubbish at meditation 😂 but in your 60’s you get over yourself too

Yeah I'm 45 and agree with the first couple. Cleaning up my diet and staying in shape so I don't burden my kids. Also don't care as much about career, spending more time with my kids is more important.

Hey kiddo, how did you get to be so smart at such a young age?😊
Look into periodic fasting. Intermittent and 36-72 hour fast few times a year.

Man I'm in my 30s. We need to cure aging let's do it. Someone here is really smart I believe in you.
What mic are you using?
When you recomended something to get better sleep I thought you were going to say the blue blockers 😂which help me sooooooooooo much
22:12 - This is ironic since you're trying to add 40 new habits to your life. 😂
Need to add Amor Fati 😊

I wouldn’t sprint for cardio, as it’s damaging to legs overall. Do Stair master and progressive get faster til your almost running for 25-40 minutes.

Hey man.. you don't really need music or it can be a bit subtle. In this vid, it's distracting
Didnt even notice it
Not at all bro
Damn you get distracted by the wind aswell?
Didn’t even bother me. I appreciate it.
I agree. Music is louder than necessary. And distracting.
