Good footwork is definitely one of the keys to a victory in a fight.
As a southpaw I gotta say that I have a strong lead hook thanks to all the guys who say you should always circle outside
Nice to see this very important issue being brought to light.
The fight game has evolved and continues to grow and along with it comes subtle new changes in movement and footwork.

Love your teaching. You explain how and why with examples and who else has used them. You never waste time with empty info. Always packed to the max with wisdom!
Everyone that has studied the striking arts past the beginning stages should already know all of these. The ones that don't are usually strict adherents of dogmatic views regarding fighting.
I find those types to lack creativity. They tend to be basic strikers with limits to their growth. Having rigid views stagnates personal growth.
great videos, Joe! keep it up!
great video once again and as far as working the opposite stance evem if you never switch stances in sparring or fights it's still the best co ordination exercise to do, practising fighting from the opposite stance
This channel is one of the best kept secrets on RUclips!
One type of "feet crossing" that confuses some of the coaches I've worked with seems to be backpedaling at angles. It looks like the legs cross but from the perspective of the hip it's a simple movement that allows stable direction changes. Sometimes I think people are not thinking about hip alignment in general even though that's where the major part of power generation comes from in human body
This is precious knowledge.
Bas Ruten loved to sneak into a square neutral stance to get a big lead left leg KO.

Could you do a video pertaining to fighting a taller opponent in Muay Thai?
@bazookajoevaltellini do you think a calf kick is a safer version of a classical low kick. like for example your opponent is moving a lot in the beginning, bouncing aroung in and out movement. do you think it could be better to start with calf kicks to criple them because you have even more range with this kick and then maybe transition into low kicks if wanted?
He went over calf kicks in a recent video.
Thanks great class teach i had todas waching You Master

Good tips, but sound and video is out of sync - good time to fix and re-upload while it has little views ;)
Seri Talk about something that matters.
Not seeing this issue
It was fine for the first minute but I did notice this too as the video went on
