The next generation of fighters is going to be WORLDS above the last generations for this reason alone. The amount of fights I have watched over the last 2 years on RUclips rivals that of elite level pros studying film. Let alone watching strategy and tactic videos like this. And I'm just an avid practitioner with plans of competing as an amateur.
@@tankjones513 yuup. I think it has more to do with seeing what works tho. Back in the day, there was no proof that slips are better than karate blocks.
I'm a part of this upcoming generation of fighters and the level of competition even in amateur level has skyrocketed in just a couple of years. Internet has changed the game completely.
@bazookajoe great video. I really appreciated your honesty about still getting nerves when sparring your guys or at new gyms. That was very insightful. Any chance you can do a video about this topic and how to best deal with it?
Notes: 1. Triangle step: rely on footwork to get out of range, circle around opponent to catch your breath. 2. Feints: to keep the opponent thinking twice, and maybe shell up. Get opponent to react to be able to catch your breath. 3a In cases where you're too fatigued to move: move-in to clinch (close the distance, jam the punch, and shell up into opponent) 3b. Last resort: High guard to protect head > clinch with overhook or bicep control to stall. 4. Volumed pressure: Relax and breathe as you throw. Move & create angles, and throw with less power. Throw but with focus on defense (arm pins, blocks, parrys)
For some reason recently i have been gassing tremendously earlier then usual so this very helpful strange thing is i did not train different so i think i might have started over training 🤔
@@shadowthefirst5115 Maybe, Khabib’s striking is predicated on the threat of his low-entry takedowns. Not something you can threaten in kickboxing Extra unsolicited advice from some rando on RUclips with a paper Mario icon: Generally, people develop into a style based on what works for them in the ring. The people who become pressure fighters are just the ones who consistently find success when pushing forward. When sparring, the people who get better the quickest are usually the ones who focus on finding the stuff that works for them & dropping the stuff that doesn’t; it’s possible that you’re a natural counter-fighter, outside-fighter, etc.. it’s definitely worth trying different things and figuring out what works best for you.
Subbed! Great Content, i like the sparring videos a lot, keep it up! Can you maybe do a video how become a fighter stamina? Especially during lockdown times with no gyms open? Maybe some high quality HIIT that everybody can do at home? Like burpees, rope skipping eith sprints or interval sprinting? What's the best (most efficient, most effective) method in your eyes? What did you as a professional fighter do to get that top cardio, cardiovascular system, vo2max? I remember in our gym fighter had to spar nonstop, while others had 1 min pause and also fighters only had to do burpees like 15 min at the end of training. I'm ready for any torture to make me more competitive. Thank you and greetings out of Germany!
Nice. I just trained for the first time in months and gassed out straight away in sparring. I'm was so tired that little body shots nerly dropped me hahaha.
When tired, lack cardio, or want to conserve energy; Forward Pressure. Moving backwards and moving sideways, especially sideways skipping uses a lot of energy. Volume with medium shots; power shots should only be used as a counter or when there's a clear opening. No fluff, no unnecessary movements; and no flash, no flashy kicks. Jab, Cross, Hooks, JeetKuneDo Uppercuts to the head. Jab, Cross, Hooks to the body to slow 'em down. Calf Kicks all day; Teeps to keep opponent backing; Body Kicks when there's an opening. Develop a strong Clinch Base, use Elbows, Knees, Short Punches and Short Kicks; have the strong Clinch Base when opponent gets too close with their Forward Pressure. If opponent is using their Forward Pressure, stop them with a timed Body Kick, it's a long distance attack that pushes the opponent back, stops their Forward Pressure and slows 'em down.
It still seems so unbelievable to me that I can just go on the Internet and my favourite kickboxer is explaining stuff to me. Thank you so much.

Funny that when some fighters are dead tired , they throw spinning kicks , Flying Knees , Tornado kicks 😳
Ye thats because they think they gonna KO you with 1 blow en the fight is over
Thanks you so much for these tips, running out of gas in a fight is one of my biggest fear!
Coach Joe giving up some of his sparring tactics.
Such useful advice coming from a true professional.

This is outstanding. Got gassed in my first fight. If I had only known these tactics.
as someone who's asthmatic and tries to end fights in the first 10 seconds, this video is right up my alley lol
Even though I do a different martial art, this is definitely applicable for what I do. Getting gassed in the middle of a fight is no joke

Will you do one on how to be a pressure fighter, there are a lot on how to beat them, but not on how to fight that way.
move forward, punch a lot, headmovement, use angles, and don't let ur sparring partner chill
@@MadDollarTV i do that but still get popped in the head. Maybe bcs im trying to do like khabib like pressure but we do kickboxing sparring.
