I really like LCD Soundsystem (what I've heard), but in reality, I'm an old goth, so when RUclips suggested this video to me, it was a delightful surprise. Of all the bands I expected to cover this, I would never have expected LCD to do this, and what's more, to commit to it 100% - no shortcuts, no holding back on the vocals, just the full length version with all the great elements of the original. Well played.
Ah, another old goth… I was just as delighted when I found this on my suggested videos today. How fun to find this practically on the list of what everyone listens too… believe me, when I was on my way to an awful job at $5 an hour, listening to the finest and weirdest version of this (the E.P., but recorded at 33 1/3 rpm) on my Walkman, I never expected for this to become mainstream/adjacent.💀
that is what drummers do . . . watch one that doesnt play the beats which dont count like awake by tycho or Tony Allen with Joan as policewomen . . . if you want to see an amazing drummer
I am actually listening to the Bauhaus albums and noticed that Lcd Soundsystem must have been influenced from some parts of their stuff. Great to see they pay tribute to their music!
I'm thinking of covering this track, now that it's even getting p!ayed at weddings. Somehow, after Massive Attack did their cover of it, all the pub bands started playing it and I recently saw some buskers in the underground doing a reggae version -- and a friend was talking about finding it on a karaoke machine! Amazing, because as an original Bauhaus fan I never expected any of their songs to surface like this. It'll be on a McDonalds ad next! :0)

I'd love to comment on the song but right now I'm just pretty upset to hear theis devastating news. I didn't actually know that Bela Lugosi is dead, or undead for that matter. Gutted.🤣
LCD Soundsystem is for the Starbucks crowd. The NPR scene. College kids that have no other outlets. This is music done poorly, on a cover-level. You should be embarrassed.
Wow. Harsh. It's just a live cover in celebration of Halloween, from a band that respects all 1970s post punk music. Yes James Murphy is not Peter Murphy, but then again no one is Peter Murphy
I’m more of a Bauhaus fan than I am LCD - Really spot-on, reverent cover. They put some heart in this.
Same!

Massive Attack do a very good version also
james murphy (lead singer) is a walking museum of post punk and general music history. definitely check out their first album it’s really raw

That drummer is awesome to keep that beat the whole time.

I was at this show. Didn’t expect them to cover Bauhaus but that was fun.
Awesome homage to an epic track. LCD Soundsystem understand why this song is epic, and defines an entire genre.
Thanks for sharing this, great job on Bauhaus cover !
Wow, just...wow! Spot on, full tilt! Brings me back.
That was really brilliant. Thanks for the upload.👍
That was bloomin' marvellous 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm so jealous of the people who had the luck to listen to this live!
Awesome Cover Love This Song
There are not many American bands worth getting out of bed for these days but LCD are certainly one of them
Good quality! Thank you 🙏
well that was bloody good!
WOW....just WOW
Wow, that was a happy Halloween 🎃
Someone should cover the B side of this record. Boys. It’s a banger!!!
It’s an amazing song! Agreed! 👍
WELL DONE LCD!
I’m dead 💀🤘
Classic...Great cover 👻
He's dead, he's dead, he's dead.
That's not how it goes.
This is amazing, great share! What a treat on Halloween!

No you didn't
Feel the flange! 🌊🌊🏄♀️🏄♂️
Spoiled, I got o see Bauhuas do it 30 years ago. This was good. But Peter Murphy started by singing scrunched up in a glass face coffin. Priceless!
yes he is!
BANGER!!!!!
Love to hear LCD
Cover
Transmission
Love the bats🦇
Good eye...im dumb...i didnt even notice. Or did lthe lines eventually turn into bats?
Smooth as jazz baby. Modern day Brubeck

Everything you just said was completely mortifying.
Mortified!

VW add more likely. Remember when they used pink moon by Nick Drake?
The other Murphy seems way more insane =] 🌊🌊🏄♀️🏄♂️
Solid job
🖤🖤🖤🖤
Peter Murphy's proud!
zow!!!! pretty damn good!
And David J Haskins was at the show.
So?
@clvrswine he wrote the song.
@@libertard6101 David Haskins wrote the lyrics. Daniel Ash wrote the guitar line. There is no Daniel Haskins. David's brother is Kevin Haskins.
Peter was Peter
U.S. Old Punks remember , too bad it’s so long ago in my past at 73 !
You have got to be kidding me!!!
what always struck me about this track is the drum part. Nine minutes or so of the same pattern.
With a ton of Flange =]
Goth bossa nova!
Pat the drummer is just amazing!
Bela Lugosi was an Icon in Vampire movies that’s the red thread why every band covering this song.
We know, dear.
damn - I almost went to that show
I'd love to comment on the song but right now I'm just pretty upset to hear theis devastating news. I didn't actually know that Bela Lugosi is dead, or undead for that matter. Gutted.🤣
They should play that at Donald J’s funeral
I think ‘Glad to see you go’ by Ramones would be more fitting. People loved Bela Lugosi.
Hate Woke
Weak Hipsters Like Yourself
But That Was a Good
Comment nonetheless,

Bela.
And at a gig no copyright muting throughout. How many times these tributes can't be included on live dvds or cds
good
......well....he' might be a Murphy......but he's certainly no Peter.....
Still, not bad
@@ΟρέστηςΚαραογλάνης I agree....I love LCD......saw them at the Shrine last week in LA....great show........just Peter Murphy sets the bar so high....
Good on them to attempt that amazing song , he just had to sing it upside down 😅🦇
Love the bats !!
@@brianbracken1904• What?! 😂
bonne reprise
The bass in the venue is way too low - but hey ho......
Ok
...not to be compared with the cover by Massive Attack, which is much more intense...
how to kill all the atmosphere from an originally brilliant song
Nonsense. I have heard the OG 1000 times and if someone told me this was a recording of Bauhaus in 82 I'd believe it.
Did they not know Massive Attack brat them to this game by 5 years
You meant 'beat them'? :0)
People have been covering this song for over 40 years. Sit down.
This is not a cover. This is a terribly played Bauhaus masterpiece.
LCD Soundsystem is for the Starbucks crowd. The NPR scene. College kids that have no other outlets. This is music done poorly, on a cover-level. You should be embarrassed.
Ikr. Bored talking over a square wave. They ruined this song right here.

@clvrswine Lighten up, Francis.
@clvrswine How do you breathe with your head so far up your own ass?
what a bunch of hacks, I hate this band so much it hurts.
