I like your honest transparency. I am a novice, live in Sandbaai Hermanus South Africa. Transplanted my lemon tree from a pot to the ground and it looks very unhappy,
I've got a question regarding compost some people say don't put any in the hole it will kill the roots and other people say put compost in the hole I'm a beginner wtf do I do I'm a little confused
It’s best to only top dress plants with compost. Too much organic material (within the root system)will become anaerobic and cause root rot when too wet. Also if compost is not done it will compost the roots. Laguna Hills nursery in California has videos on this. The guys name is Gary. His videos are very long but informative.
Personally I add a little to the soil and mix it in. @innerjon is right where it can damage the roots, but my soil is usually so hard that mixing in a bit of compost can loosen up the soil and improve it's quality. So if you're soil is good then don't risk it, however if your soil quality is horrible to begin with then I feel it's beneficial to mix some in with the soil.
Hey, very nicely explained. Would you keep your content(videos) consistent? I would subscribe to your channel if that's a yes! Best wishes from India 🇮🇳
