I like to imagine there is no recording, just a guy making $8 an hour to yell "cat stew, yum yum, ah ha ha ha!" over and over.
Down deep, I want this to be true as well.
I though he was saying “Eff, youuuu!”
I'm just now finding out about this ride and I will always have a tiny Garfield's Nightmare sized void in my heart.
It’s funny, as this is my local park and rode this ride so many times, it’s interesting to see people discover it after it’s gone and feel they missed out. Especially because most people here hated it.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips What is Garfield saying during the sections
@That 80's Dude I'm sort of obsessed with weird, obscure, broken down and even abandoned amusement ride stuff, so tbh this was a perfect fit. It adds to the weird and unsettling nature of it, in my opinion, even if that wasn't the intention while creating it. It's a fun little vibe to find and this ride hit all the marks 😆
Not knowing this existed until today, this ride feels like a fever dream
Hahahahaha oh it was really something. Can’t imagine what it would have been like if you took something before you went on. May have been too much.
TomWasHere the echoes of Garfield’s voice across the entire ride is something straight out of a horror movie 😂
Oh for sure, I wonder how long it would take to decent into madness if you got stuck in the ride, 5 minutes? 10 tops!
"Fever dream" was my exact thought as well!
i actually loved the colors and cutouts, i thought it closely matched the animation style as a kid and this was one of my favorite rides at kennywood, i never rode the old mill
This is the type of ride that would give anybody on psychedelics a bad trip.
There has to be someone out there that did this and I want to hear everything in full detail. What a story it must be!
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips lol, absolutely
Challenge accepted
Hypothesis confirmed. Exactly that level of high. Three concerns off the top of my head from a long, long list: 1) It is really like not okay that the dog is that shape or moves that way. 2) "you blinked" is the most absolutely sinister thing to read with that Garfield and nebulous context and 3) I think I have to be in Hell now. I think that's what this is.
Jesus Christ, this is exactly my shit and I have no idea what that says about me, but what an incredible ride
Literally
@@Delcat42 Yes! Exactly what I was talking about...Don't worry, you're not in Hell. Just 2022.
It annoys me that the sheer surrealism and utter absurdity of this ride was lost on so many to the point where this was considered Kennywood's "most hated ride." This is a pure acid trip, a fever dream, a patently bizarre to the point of being hilarious dive into the depths of something that should have never existed but somehow did. Garfield's Nightmare deserved more than the chilly reception it received. I regret that I only got to visit Kennywood after this ride was replaced, and the ride that replaced it was dark and dull by comparison.
So I think that was the issue, the purists hated it because it was completely different from the Old Mill they grew up with and kids hated it because it scared them. I think it would have not been hated as bad if they built a new ride and not built it over the original. To be fair though, people hate the new old mill as well because it’s different than what they remember.
I think it's honestly a situation where you can't please everyone. Really, the deciding factor is the costs in the end. If a ride isn't bringing in money and is sliding more & more towards dilapidation then it makes sense to revamp it, and with the winds of change blowing in regards to brand integration at the park, I think it was reasonable that the mill got revamped. I also enjoy the surreal fun, but I appreciate the tributes to park history and Garfield's Nightmare within the new version of the ride.
1:57 The dog animatronic is the creepiest part of the ride for me. It really caught me off guard when I first-watched this. It's not going to keep me up at night, but if I was a kid on this ride I would have been pretty startled by it.
So that was one of the bigger issues of this ride, for adults it was was childish and silly, but for kids, especially younger kids, of which the audience was geared towards, it was terrifying in spots. So adults didn’t want to ride it because it’s a kids ride and kids didn’t want to ride it because it was too scary. It was a tricky audience for most and no one ever got comfortable or used to it unless you grew up with it.
it looks like nightmare fredbear💀💀
I had no idea this version of the ride operated until 2019!!! THIS was my childhood, as I went on it when I was only 2 years old in 2005, then again around 2009-2011. Never again will the old mill feel right, as THIS is what my childhood memory was
I get that. It was a bit too late for me to have grown up with Garfield but when Garfield was set to go, I never considered that a whole generation grew up with that version. It’s definitely a bummer to see a ride you liked that has been around since you were little go away.
I went to Kennywood in 2005 and I agree with you!
I like how they put actual Garfield strips into the ride!
I always liked those, was always odd though that they never had anything to do with the scenes in the rest of the ride.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips Well, the vet scene is preceded by a strip about the vet...
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips Okay now I just noticed that each strip is kind of an introduction to the "scene" that follows it
I find it funny how Garfields nightmare is getting attention after all these years! I rode it twice, (a few years back) Its one of my favorite rides to bring up in conversations just because how weird it is. Also amazing pov!
It’s funny, this is my local park and the local crowd wanted Garfield dead and buried so it’s so funny that people are coming across this now and it’s finding a following!
Defunctland just recently covered this ride! You can tell in some of these scenes that this is just when the Garfield ride started falling into disrepair.
They did indeed. Kevin from Defunctland reached out and asked if he could use some of this video and I was happy to offer it! It turned out great. Yeah this was 2018, it was getting run down in both the ride itself and guest patience with it.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips Do you think he might use the ride in Defunctland VR?
A good question, not sure on the logistics there, but I haven’t heard anything on that front.
Rip Garfield. I’m actually going to miss this ride. This was my childhood.
It had a good run but it was definitely something that needed an upgrade I think. Surprised they didn’t announce it last year to let everyone know it was being changed.
TomWasHere // I agree I’m excited for the upgrade. I’m glad i got to ride it last season. We weren’t going to ride it because the line was too long but I’m glad we decided to go on it. Sad to think that I didn’t know that would be the last time.
It’s still strange to me that they didn’t announce beforehand to both hype up the change yet let those interested get in one last ride. Hard to know for sure if they had it planned for a while or decided to make a change after the season ended.
So it’s gone?
@@Dave_Williams200 yea, they scraped it after 14 years and brought back and revamped old mil
the ambience of this ride makes me dissociated enough, imagine going in here on a hallucinogenic! 😂😂
I can’t say I have personally but I can only imagine what type of temporary or permanent insanity that it was cause if you did that. I personally want to talk to someone that did!
yea honestly
They missed a opportunity to name the Garfield retheme of the old mill garfield's tunnel of lasagna.
I think it would still be there if they themed it around that name
This legitimately feels like one of those crappy creepypastas in the form of a dark ride rather than a video game or video adaptation. What is up with Garfield's eyes half the time? Not only that, but this trope is so overdone. Turning kiddie cartoons into dark and scary things? I'm sorry, but even back then, this trope was associated with Garfield WAY too much.
Yeah it was definitely an odd creative direction that was taken here. Not sure it was one I would have taken. Keep in mind though that they changed this over in the early 2000’s so some of those tropes weren’t as prevalent as they are now. They definitely didn’t set out to make a good ride and that’s why it was replaced.
I don't think the eyes were intentional, I think it's just run down. That makes it much more unsettling in my opinion. I'd never want to be on a ride that was neglected.
@@bubbythebear6891 Yeah, the ride over the years was not well taken care of (as it did get some problems, other than the strips losing some color, resulting in the black eyes, the neon paint lost effect, the animatronics stopped working, the audio cues were either off or missing, etc).
When I was a kid, this was my introduction to Garfield creepypastas, and Garfield in general.
Arguably, this was so much cooler than Old Mill.
There is definitely a debate there, there is definitely more going on than the Mill offers for sure.
Kennywood is converting Garfields Nightmare back to the previous dark ride before it called “Old Mill.” As a local of the park I am personally glad this is ride is going.
I’m local as well and yes that is long overdue to happen! Glad they are changing it back, really excited for the new one!
I went on it a couple years ago. I tried to get with the concept but it was just too goofy for me. Not really scary. Just super weird.
And also way too bright. It's supposed to be dark and creepy in there.
The ride was meant to be ridden with 3-D glasses. That’s why it’s so bright.
new ride is literally terrible and boring as fuck, yeah bro really awesome you want to see some 1920s skeleton prop shaking in place shit for 10 minutes
Defunct land brought me here.
Very cool, Kevin was kind enough to reach out and ask to use this video and I was happy to let him as I’m a big fan. Thanks for stopping by!
"Maybe I Pushed The Pizza Guy A Little Too Far..."
Such an interesting ride, it makes you wonder what happened to all those cutouts, props, animatronics. I was always fascinated on how they can make something like this so odd. I've been interested in knowing more about anyone who worked on it and why this has turned into the most hated attraction. the music really is a trip, so out of place by garfield standards but I like it. apparently there was footage from when it first opened, there was missing sound effects and usually when garfield speaks, it would time itself instead of playing all at once. wish I had the chance to ride it before it got rethemed back to the old mill
So there are videos and I know there are videos coming from other channels that are going to deep dive into Garfield’s nightmare and it’s history. I believe all the stuff was destroyed for the most part, props, animatronics all gone. I know a little bit of the history, mainly that they were instructed to not make the ride too great as it would block up the front of the park. Being that this is my local park, I’ve rode garfield so many times and maybe didn’t truly appreciate the absurdity of it all.
When Viacom acquired ownership of the Garfield franchise, they told Kennywood that the licensing fees were going to skyrocket. Kennywood didn’t want to pay and Viacom told them to destroy everything, with video evidence.
@@mondenkindqueenVIACOM!!!
My family went to kennywood every year and it was tradition to start our day with Garfield. We went right before they closed it and I still think about how fun it was and how much my child self thought it was the greatest thing ever.
Rip GN. You were awful. But a treasure for sure..
There is a whole generation that grew up only knowing Garfield without a reference for the Old Mill. It’s funny that it’s found a whole new appreciation after its death.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips I don't think I ever rode the original old mill BUT I do remember riding gold rusher 1 time (scared the hell out of me lol)
I still haven't gone to kennywood since they put old mill back in, but maybe this summer I'll have to check it out!
I never knew a ride like this existed until now! It’s like a bootleg version of That Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle ride that used to be at Kings Island
I never got to ride the Scooby Doo ride, I’ll have to check that out. It seems everyone is discovering this ride now that it’s gone and has been re-themed. People locally hated this and were calling for it to go for years. Of course, the results are mixed for the new theme as well.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips Though it was very popular I've seen a lot of Scooby doos haunted castle hate because of the dark ride it replaced. In my option it was one of my favorites. it was super friendly and charming and I never minded the problems with the guns. The line was short and if your gun broke u could just pick up another one.
@@elizabethwaterman7793 is it still there? I do plan to take a trip to some parks this summer hopefully!
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips sadly it was converted to boo blasters. I highly recommend you watch the pov though one of the guys has a faulty gun. That was the rides main fault, but I always just grabbed another gun. There was never more than one or maybe two broken.
It used to be the Enchanted Voyage when the park opened way back when. Nobody respects it! (Said like Jabberjaw)
The dog always creeped me out as a kid
I can understand that. I was a bit too old when it opened but I remember younger children being scared of it. I can certainly see why.
Good lord this ride is on a budget...
Yeah pretty much, I mean they retrofitted the Garfield makeover on a ride built in 1901. Also the Garfield addition itself is like 20 years old. So it’s definitely something that needs to be updated.
Most of it doesn’t even feel Garfield themed, it looks like some generic Cartoon Antics ride, they really need to re do this, and actually add real animatronics and make it feel like Garfield.
Yeah it’s definitely something that is long overdue to be redone. I don’t think it’s on Kennywood’s high priority list but it should be. They will never get rid of that ride as It’s one of the oldest in the park but an upgrade would be great.
It adds to the charm imo
This looks so stupid now that I see it again idk why it triggered such an intense feeling of fear I never felt before when I rode it that one time years ago
I think the problem for me was this debuted when I was already out of high school so that experience is quite different than going through as a child and seeing Garfield getting eaten and chased around. I can imagine that is some tough imagery for a kid.
Looks scary 😱
It was kid themed but kids were terrified by it.
Oh god, his eyes... WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIS EYES?!?!?!?
I guess the lesson here is that, when you're painting an attraction for the black lights, you really can't afford to miss any spots.
Hahahaha, I will say they were only directed to be average at best. They didn't want it to be a great ride and it shows!
This ride scared the shit out of me as a kid
The Old Mill version or the Garfield version? The Old Mill one did have a creepy vibe but the only time I was ever scared on this ride was when a worker put their head through a little opening. They were looking for someone in particular and it wasn’t us. Never expected a head to come out of the wall!
The Garfield version, I went on it the first time when I was super young and the creepy imagery just horrified me. And the air blowing out of the giant needle 😰
I could see that, I didn’t think about that as it didn’t transition into Garfield until I was almost an adult but I could see where that would be messed up for a younger kid. There is some disturbing imagery there.
@@miabinns1657 You're right Mia I'm very sorry 😞
I thought I was the only one lol
I think the visuals of this ride are pretty good, I just think the way they put it all together just looks trashy. I think rides like this need to be made more. If you go to Busch Gardens or Disney, the rides are all themed and have themes throughout the ride and waiting line. I think that peaks people’s interest in rides better, gives them qualities to like in a ride, not just the ride itself. I just think the idea was good, but the execution on this ride was not there.
Oh for sure! You could see the idea made sense to incorporate Garfield. I’m just not sure why they didn’t build a new Garfield ride instead of retrofitting an already established one. Maybe they thought the ride was stale and wanted a fresh take. Kennywood for all its modern improvements is still an old time traditional park in most circumstances and especially in the Old Mill’s case. The other problem with Kennywood is that they don’t have the budget to fully theme out a ride to the highest of standards especially back then. It’s good to see them going to extra mile to make park improvements.
Hopefully one day there will be another Garfield themed ride somewhere.
I think there will be somewhere. Parks always like to tie in known properties and Garfield still has a good following. Chances it works somewhere!
Silverwood has Garfield.
This ride is old and just feels really unsettling
It is, the ride was initially was built in 1901 and after a fire was rebuilt in 1926, the Garfield stuff was added in 2004. So it’s definitely a very old ride, they are updating it back to the original version thankfully.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips oh really? Its cool that theyre updating it! The garfield stuff was cool and all but it felt out of place and kinda creepy lol
Yeah everyone felt the same, it was awkward and out of place for that ride. Also pretty creepy as well. Long overdue for a change!
"I never met an ice cream truck I didn't like... or lick."
I loved this ride as a kid! I'm old enough to remember the old mill ride theme before it, but I liked this way better. It was so colorful and interesting in comparison. The corny sounding lines were my favorite, and I'd recite them while on the ride lol. I also thought it was cool that they gave out glasses for it like you were going to see a 3D movie.
I've found in just people commenting that kids either love this ride or were scared of it. Either way, it was an interesting one that we may never see anything like it again.
The real nightmare is watching both of the live action movies of Garfield
Accurate. I couldn’t do it. One was more than enough.
LMAO
I found out what dates the comic strips in this ride were published:
1. September 5, 1991
2. May 11, 1994
3. March 23, 1984
4. September 23, 1997
5. July 26, 1995
6. June 10, 2000
7. January 13, 1999
8. March 1, 1994
Wow! How did you find that out? Either way, appreciate the research!
How long has it been since this ride has been updated? I haven't seen that Pepsi logo in like 10 years and that CGI at the beginning looks like it was made in the early 90's.
The old mill which is what this ride was in its former life was built in 1901.You took a boat around an old mill with some construction scenes. They changed it to Garfield in 2004 and it is begging for an upgrade or change. I wouldn’t even mind if they went back to the Old Mill style but something has to change with it.
Your wish was granted
zach spodek long overdue I’d say. Another step for putting Kennywood in the right direction moving forward.
I miss the old Pepsi logo. As a kid, I wanted to snack right alongside Garfield!
They left out one major nightmare Garfield on picnic with nermal on a Monday with nothing to eat but raisin
There’s definitely some additional cut scenes they could have added for sure

Nice! I’ll give it a listen! Thanks for letting me know!
I remember riding this as a kid! This got me into Garfield. I always wanted to eat the food he was eating in the intro, because I never had any dreams after eating too much.
Ha! Nice! Most kids are scared because of it being dark and the nightmare but that’s cool that you got into it.
This is so awesome, if I was younger I'd probably get freaked out by this.
Most kids around here were. It was dark and had nightmare in the name. Outside building and boats are ominous.
The plot of this ride reminds me of the Peanuts special "What a Nightmare, Charlie Brown" where Snoopy eats like, six pizzas, then dreams he's a sled dog. I don't normally get dreams when I eat too much; so I'd eat right alongside Garfield at the beginning, then dream about freek'n David Hayter (2008 Edition) or something.
Hahahhahhahaha what’s great about this is that you put more thought into this comment than Kennywood put into this ride. I’m not even sure there was a real story to it and the comic strips had nothing to do with each scene. Also, I can’t say I’ve ever had a dream or nightmare after I ate too much!
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips I do love episodes like that, because I wanna eat the food the character ate. I even ate Doritos and Reese's and drank soda before bedtime and had my usual dreams.
Wow. What a terrible ride. Old Mill 2020 will be gladly welcomed.
Agreed. Long overdue for a change. There’s gonna be a lot of hype around this one considering how much they wanted it changed for so long.
The new one is beyond horrible. Its an absolute joke. They should have kept the Garfield theme
Go on it cuz id you want lame the 2020 Old Mill fits the bill!!! I couldn't believe how terrible it was
I miss this ride
Never been to Kennywood, but I wish they kept it as Garfield. Garfield is one of my favorite cartoons, and a Garfield-themed ride is pretty rare. I guess it makes sense now because Garfield is now owned by Nickelodeon, and would make sense of Odie, Jon, and the cat himself would appear in the Universal Studios parks.
Yeah I get that. I like Garfield but for that particular ride, the theming was getting pretty tired also it was kind of retrofitted to that ride. This ride has been around for over 100 years but the Garfield stuff wasn’t added until 80 plus years into the ride’s existence. So I think that was the big issue with it. I wouldn’t be opposed to a new Garfield ride, but a new ride, not an addition to an older ride.
Yeah, but they got rid of Garfield because of Viacom gaining the IP and deciding to tighten control by demanding a significant licensing fee increase.
Just discovered this. I lived in Pittsburgh as a young kid, and for better or worse I remember this ride as well as any other part of the theme park.
Yeah there’s a generation that grew up with the Old Mill and a generation that grew up with Garfield, that’s usually the first ride you go on in the park so it’s memorable.
I remember this ride, this use to TERRIFY me as a kid.
I get that. It was pretty overwhelming for a kid, you can’t put nightmare on the front of the ride and the only thing the kid knows is going into a rickety boat that floats into a dark tunnel. A lot to process for a young kid.

I wasn't happy when they introduced the Garfield theme to the Old Mill, but now that it's gone...I kinda miss it. 😂
I noticed last season that Kennywood had a special announcement for the Phantoms Revenge. It ended up being a track color change to Purple, my favorite color and one I voted for. But my honest suggestion was to change the name of the Phantom.....to Garfields Revenge. 😂
Loved the very insightful video and always love seeing the vast history behind Kennywood which in a way, I'm part of too. 😇 Now to wait until the Phantom Fright Night (Fall Fest) video from Defunctland.🙃
Very cool! The scare actors, yourself included, make Phantom Fright Nights and now Phantom Fall Fest what it is. I like the scare zones better than most of the haunted houses to be honest. Change never really works for most, if you go to the past, it’s not exactly like you remember it, if they go to something different, people hate it. You can’t win. I like The Garfield’s Revenge name, but perhaps a new dark ride instead of the Phantom. You don’t want a Defunctland video of Fright Nights as that means Fright Nights are over. I’m sure I’ll see you in October!
Hey I saw you last time I visited and was genuinely freaked out by your performance! I have an idea, maybe you could run up to some young couple and aim your chain saw for his nut sack, basically threatening him to take away his chances of being a dad.

Yeah it was definitely overdue for an overhaul. Even those that grew up on it were a bit tired of it. I am Old enough to remember the Old Mill pre-Garfield and I cant say this new version stands up to the original but the general consensus is that it’s better than Garfield.
When I was little and we would visit my grandparents farm in Pittsburgh we would go to Kennywood. My favorite rides were the Jack Rabbit and Garfield’s nightmare. I can’t believe I used to find this ride spooky.

I remember when they took out the old mill ride and this was put in place... I hated it so much that it was a joke for friends and I, but now I miss it since its gone
ALso Bring back the Gold MINE!! Noahs Ark suuucks
It’s weird in that way. People wanted Garfield gone so bad and it seems the whole world seems to be just catching on to the absolute madness that Garfield’s nightmare was, I think part of the issue is that the Old Mill isn’t what people wanted which was the one pre-Garfield instead of what it is currently.
I wish they had another dark ride. Ghostwood estate took that area over, but I feel like it would be awesome if they had another dark ride. They will never replace Noah’s Ark though.
This honestly was executed really well but it would've worked better as it's own ride then being on the old mill, not helped by the fact they put no efforts into preserving the ride
Agreed, I think a stand alone thing could have worked better then fitting it in the old mill.
Also yes, upkeeping the ride would have improved it a bit.
Ok the fact that some of the whites of the eyes are completely blacked out make this a little scary
There were definitely some uneasy elements in there but it definitely scared little kids.
I kinda like the spider part 2:07 especially since Garfield said. Uh who's scared of a tisny winsy spider?😒🫣 Which shows garfield says boo to a spider that jumped and he swung it. And a huge spider appears in front of him
Thanks for watching!
My mom and I remember riding this when we got in to Kennywood back in June 2018 and We were about to go on Sky Rocket but it was closed
Very cool, how did you like it? Yeah Sky Rocket was closed for a while, they finally opened it last summer. Garfield though has been replaced since.
TomWasHere It was so good
Well let’s say thanks to the theme park gods for getting rid of this and bringing back the old mill. Also wow the animatronics are actually working
Absolutely agree, a bit overdue to be honest, but at least they did it. Yeah I’ve had many an encounter on this ride where hardly anything worked. Took the video on a good day. Thanks for watching!
Reminds me when i was a toddler i was kind of scared of this ride but when we walked in the park it was the first ride i went on
Yeah to a kid outside looking in, nightmare and darkness are not inviting in any way, but it’s usually the first ride to go on!
Those comic strip panels sure had me terrified.
Terrified by their poor quality???
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips Exactly 😂
I like the artwork on some of it.
Yeah I can see that, it has a comic strip style to the designs.
Oh god why are there eyes on the tv and paintings and outside the windows and doors? 😨
I think to add to the uneasiness.
Wish i could experience this weird ass ride, i love the sinister psychedelic vibes
This was a ride that was just weird but common to those that Kennywood was our local park, it’s interesting to see people’s reaction to it on the outside
3:23 did you see that box on the ground that looks like the pizza is fatting up?
Thats Garfield inside of it. It used to have his tail poke out but this was Long ago jntil here
They may have remove it if it stopped working.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips but it barely did anything. It would just show his tail sticking out and nothing else happening.
But they just removed it.
What Would Jessie James And Meowth Think?
They'd laugh at it.
I just found out about this - I’m going to have nightmares
It’s funny to see a whole world discover this now that it’s gone. It definitely was something else.
Greetings! May I use this footage in a video I'm making about bizarre dark rides? I will give your channel full credit.
Yes that’s fine, as long as you give me credit, I’m ok with it! Will check it out when completed!
*CaT sTeW, yUm!*
Thanks for watching!
I always wonder why Garfield was popular in kennywood maybe it was popular back then
It wasn’t really popular, most locals hated it and wanted it to go back to the old mill.
Missed opportunity for this ride. They never had a part in the ride where Nermal the Kitten could get his revenge on Garfield.
Well to be honest, you put more thought into this comment than Kennywood did for this ride. They didn’t attempt to make it much or a solid story or hook.
i do not remember this ride i only remember being TERRIFIED of it😭watching it so i can see what i missed
Yeah, as a younger kid, going on a dark ride with nightmare in the title definitely could be a pause for concern. Well, did it live up to the terror?
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips like in the beginning i remember the mouse saying it was gonna be scary and i believed it and started crying. when i went on it again older i was still nervous lmfao. it def rattled me😭like- i just took the mouses word for it. and no, it didn't. i think the mouse just told me it would and i believed it
This looks dope!
It’s interesting to see people’s reaction to a ride that I grew up on. Some love it, some hate it. Cool to hear you liked it.
I saw someone talk about this ride in a comment on another video and was positive it was some made up, creepypasta bullshit.
I've never been more wrong, and I'm fucking shocked this actually exists.
Oh it definitely existed and it’s strange - maybe because we grew up with the ride here but while everyone thought it was creepy and weird - it wasn’t until the world started to notice that I found out how creepy and weird it was!
Loved this. Only thing though the boat kept getting stuck
Oh really? Yeah I had a few rides like that before, odd malfunction where the whole ride would lag a few times during it.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips yeah I just grabbed the side and gave it a little nudge.
@@270crazyguy Ha! That's the way to do it. You didn't plan to actually have to muscle a boat though the ride but you were up for the task.
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips for sure I was up to it lol. Got my excercise and entertainment at the same time
Crisp Rat's Nightmare
4:23 yall saw GARFIELD said theres not enough CAT-SuP in the world to get him to eat mice? Well in the nightmare a sauce bottle said cat-sup So did the nightmare jinx him?
Thanks for watching!
It might have, I don’t think they thought that much about it
@@TomWasHereOnRUclips 😉No thank you for sharing this with us
I remember going there and that was the first dark ride and the first ride I ever rode. It was fun and when we went to the gift shop I got a cupcake penny bank that how my dad and mom new I was gay that. Place haas a lot of memories for me
I never thought about the impact this ride would have. Not just a legacy, but in your case, it brought back an important life moment for you so you will always remember it for that, which is a great thing! Thanks for sharing!
5 minutes of your life that you will never get back
It’s my local park and it’s the first ride as you walk on so damn, it’s a least 2 hours I’ll never get back probably
Trippy as hell
Definitely a different experience in there!
2:31 that oke looks perfect becuase its so dark you can't see what us holding the water drops
It’s pretty cool! Thanks for watching!
Defunctland brought me here, and I’m wondering if Anyone riding with you was doing some………. Demonitizable stuff here
Ha! No I can safety say we were PG maybe even G on this particular one. I can say I did some PG-13 stuff on the Old Mill pre-Garfield, the Garfield switch happened right after high school for me. I’m kind of surprised at the Garfield stuff though. The Old Mill was dark, super dark, pitch black in spots. Garfield was bright, like neon bright at almost all times. Plus, I just don’t know how “demonetized” anyone can be with a Garfield voiceover but apparently many were!
Garfield's Nightmare Ride might be scary and creepy, but its fun and cool.
It definitely had a nice mix of fun and scary.
R.I.P. Garfield's Nightmare. I Will Miss This Ride Until The New Old Mill Is Gone And Gets Replaced Again. If It Gets Replaced Again. Why Was Garfield's Nightmare Replaced Anyway?
Well, it’s probably unlikely they will replace the new old mill anytime soon, I’m guessing it lasts as long as Garfield did. A lot of people locally hated the Garfield version and even though this video shows all the animatronics working, that wasn’t always the case. So people just got tired of it, the problem is that the people didn’t want the new old mill, they wanted the old mill, so those people are not happy either.
They no longer have to pay for the rights to use the characters.
I know this is old, but kennywood didn't want to continue paying the licensing fee when Viacom bought the rights to garfield and replaced the ride afterwards.
5:10 that rat looks unpainted
It probably is, or maybe it was and never touched up again. Could be either or.
I like the new old mill but I wish it had more soundtrack like Garfield and the old Old mill had
Yeah, it would be hard to do that because the themes are drastically different.
日本人いますか?
ちょっとゾクゾクする感じがたまらなく好きです
I am not! But thank you so much for watching!
アメリカ人、でも日本語を話す。このライドが大好き。これを誰もが嫌いなんてわからない。
