    Very underrated tennis channel! I've been to most and this is one of best. Unfortunately most rec tennis players are stubborn and do not change

      You are too kind! I really appreciate that! I hope to get some more ideas with my travels to Florida and Australia in the winter/spring to check out some academies :). If you have any ideas please feel free to let me know!

      Sent a fee member your way to hopefully learn something. Although it is mostly a lost cause with 99% of rec players

      @@teachyourselftennis Hey Ben, how do you drive it when the high ball is a baseline shot? Seems like it would go in the net if driven with a horizontal trajectory like you are supposed to when close to the net?

    • @teachyourselftennis
      @teachyourselftennis  5 лет назад

      Sz Ki great question. I’m not sure if I’m answering correctly so let me know as I think I understand the question. If the ball is not higher than the net, it takes a very precise shot to drive a ball as you would have to aim very low over the net. That is why you should only do this when the ball is high up such as between your shoulders and waist. I hope that helps!

      @@teachyourselftennis Thanks for the response. Maybe I overcomplicated my own question. What I was trying to find out is how do pros hit a winner on a high baseline ball? We can see them hit flat / drive through on shoulder high balls from behind. Where do they make contact to keep the ball in?

    Thanks for the video. This is a great drill for particularly intermediate level players to also develop racket lagging hence improving racket head speed (with very loose grip).

    Ben - gr8 stuff, diligently thought through; please continue to explain how to achieve goals in higher level technique by using common tools; self fed balls, wall and other creative tools the solo participant can use to improve their game; this perspective sorely lacking in the tennis community...

      Thank you Ken! I"ll be trying to keep it up. I do see a lack of info for doing things on your own as well. I guess you need a tennis instructor to get better haha!

    Hey I use a semiwestern grip. Can I use drop feed with this grip or can I only really use the continental with self feed?

    • @teachyourselftennis
      @teachyourselftennis  2 года назад

      Definitely semi western. That’s the best way to generate spin and power :)

    This is a start but it's not going to address the timing and rythym issues with hitting a live ball. And that's where people get messed up.
