I really don't get what people think is so phenomenal about Mbappe's performance. Yes he scored a hatrick, but two of his goals were penalties (that most other players would have scored had he not been on the team). He was invisible for most of the match, except for 2 impressive moments (him dribbling past defenders in extra time, and his 2nd goal). While that is a decent performance, it doesn't come anywhere near Messi's performance. Messi was the driving force behind every attack issued by Argentina. He pretty much controlled the game.
