I think this is a waste of time. The time needed to push your alt to do even floor 25 could be used to push your main in t2. Its way more efficient to use these mats on your alts to push them
Cant get to T2 without enhancing your gear.
Wrong lol atleast the first 24 is pretty easy, getting 420 gs is pretty easy and is worth the sacrifice. After your main is tier 2, your main can then clear the rest for your alts to now benefit.
@@MasterZedX yeah but I was told you can only do the island quests once that he mentioned and if you did those on your main than you can’t just do it again on your alt ? so it will not be easy to get 420-460 like it was for your main it will be days but yes you can just save your towers and after doing dailies on your main run your alt and attempt to get it up to run the towers
@@cydneywright2623 the extra 20% honing bonus and shared reduction cost you get from your stronghold upgrade after you are t2 is more than enough to make up for that. Also you get 2 power passes so you'll have 2 alts and you use them to get mats to power one up at a time.
Personally, I see this as a catchup mechanic for alts! The sooner they get to T3 the better...
Exactly, it's not a mistake to clear towers on your main/first t3 at all.
@@Despond Yeah, this vid confused me. Shouldnt I get to T2 with the 1time per roster island rewards, which are plenty, and then use the tower rewards to help alts catch up?
I dont think we need these T1-T2 mats on our main at all with all the catch up 1time rewards, do we?
@@TheBeelzeboss yeah exactly, this is just some circle, where one guy made a video and everybody is repeating the same thing with low effort
well heres the thing, u need ur alt thats doing it to be ilvl 450+ or something like that to get the most value , and all those mats u are using to upgrade ur alt is taken away from ur main. ur setting urself back a couple days with this method lmao. better to just finish it on ur main to get the island quest out the way and with the reward mats u can use for ur main to get 600. and then boom 800 gear. save the tower for ur 2nd main to gear up
Can't you rerun the tower with you main? Feels like the game is forcing me to use alts.
No because having high lvl alt gives value to your main.
@@NthreeE this game is basically made around you having to play with multiple characters, sure you can just ignore it and not do it, but good luck, you will struggle really hard
The tower is a one time thing that gives character-bound rewards. You can repeatedly level your characters with chaos dungeons, guardian raids, Una dailies, etc. and the Tower isn’t something you’ll want to do until much later on since the ilvl requirement for the floors gets very high very quickly. It’s worth doing this even for just the first 20-25 floors or so
Bruh the island quests only got me to 460, it’s heavily rng dependant
This is the first time I've heard this advice backwards. All the long time players advise that you want to run through the tower on your main and then through the tower on your alts. It's an easy way to gear them so that they can feed your main things from other areas like dailies and so forth.
I wish I wouldn't have listened to people like this dude. I made the mistake of not doing my tower on my main.
@@keldonator Thank God I read the comment section. I thought I F'd up on running my main on the tower first. But yeah, I agree, better to leave alts the mats.
In order to get to level 24, you need 420 gear score. That is going to take 1125 Destruction Stones, 3375 Guardian, and 93 Leapstones to level your alt to 420. BUT you only get back 200 Destruction, 1500 Guardian, and 50 Leapstones. Meaning your main is getting LESS items than it took to level up your alt. The only one where you get more is Harmony Shards 5400 vs 20k, but they are Roster bound so it doesn't matter. So this seems to be very bad advice.
I actually ended up running out of harmony shards on my main around 560-580 ilvl, so I bumped up an alt using the ton of destruction and guardian fragments I had. Also, using alt bounded leapstones from dailies helps. It all depends on your situation I suppose, but yeah people probably shouldn't blindly follow this method.
Harmony shards seem to be character bound and not roster bound, tested it today, or you can check again
@@jancoe The bags from Tower may be character bound but when you open them the shards are roster bound.
@@Jaradis no the opened shards are character bound. I tried farming harmony shards with alts but was unable to transfer the shards to the main, as you are unable to locate it anywhere in your bag, nor can you drag it into roster storage. Test it yourself again.
@@jancoe They're definitely character bound. Not sure why he edited his comment to include that misinformation.
Stuff like this really makes people put off playing the game, always having to research 'If i do this am i making a mistake?'
I actually got to 600 ilvl without ever doing tower on my main, which, clearly wouldve helped a LOT since I was stuck at 580 ilvl for so damn long, but I'm glad I didn't cause now I cleared the 50 floors being 1kilvl so it was really fast, and now my alts have a big chunk of materials each that they can get :D
But to beat the tower, you nees high ilevel, so if you want to do it first with an alt, you need to invest on it, the same materiales you are getting with your main with the rewards, are kinda the same as the one you invested in yout alt, and not in your main what is the point on that?
You dont really invest much. Just enough to go about floor 24 after that you do the rest ok your main. The difference is you spend the same amount to get to floor 24 but get more upgrade materials on your main compared to alt. This is only if you are rushing otherwise it doesnt matter.
@@PKcrash and you don’t really get much from tower either. Kevin’s right here. Plus your main gets island mats. Like way more then it actually needs (besides shards) but there’s other methods of getting those too. Seems like a waste of time really. Plus once main hits t2 they give alts better honing % through stronghold.
I really like your videos...simple in explanation and very helpful..you got yourself a new subscriber :)
To better clarify, this is mainly advice for people progressing a good bit along in tier 1 already and haven’t done the tower yet. If your main and alt are moving side by side, you should do the tower on the alt FIRST if you can instead of whoever you prioritize upgrading the gear on, since first-clear benefits are roster-wide. (I wouldn’t dump a ton of materials into an alt solely to help them clear the tower. It’s not worth it).
You should not be rushing into this the second you hit level 50 since it doesn’t provide easy upgrade materials and the difficulty/ilevel requirement scales very fast. Just something to keep in mind to min-max materials on your main since tower rewards are a one-time thing.
Short and concise. Great videos man keep them coming.
Happy I watched this before I decided to attempt the tower. W
I personally disagree with this strategy, as I use the tower to equip my alts and get them to T2 quickly, as it counts for every alt individually. But it makes sense for anyone who wants to get faster into t2 (I got into t2 week 1 without using tower mats)
Agree with this
Agreed
do you mind telling me how you managed to do that? is it a pay to progress thing, or is there another way besides clearing the 250 island quests and all the time gated stuff? (Daily quests, weekly quests, daily chaos dungeon, weekly exchange with the infinite chaos dungeon loot)? I feel like one week is quite short considering it sometimes feels like it takes both dungeon entries to upgrade a single equipment piece in the later lvls.
I may of course just be oblivious to a different way so I would be interested
@@santobi27 I did most of the islands, I did guardian raids and chaos dungeons every day, I only did the Una Tasks that rewarded leapstones, I did sidequests that reward t1 materials (for example in vern, very loosely and not that many), I bought every t1 material I could with any currency (sea coins, chaos dungeon currency) and I have 2 alts on 50 which I used to send me anything that was roster bound over to my main and after reviewing how I did it, it came down to a whole lot of luck, as I had left over materials for about 5-6 more honing attempts. If you get really unlucky with upgrading at your high 60 percents and you fail multiple times, you waste alot of materials. It is, after all, RNG.
I DID buy harmony shards off the secret shop, as I got unlucky on my last upgrade (failed 3 times on 70%+) and you could make the argument that if you were to pay 2 progress, you would easily make it to t2 in a week IF you do everything else, you can def. not just sit there and buy your way through tiers. I would still recommend, as of now, to invest most of your gold into crystals as gold will only lose value as more gets into the game, where crystals will always have their worth, you should check the prices of mats on the auction house, for example T2 Leapstones(86 gold per crystal on EU), then check the crystal price for them in mari's shop (24 crystals for 10) and then go to the currency exchange and see for how much crystals go, in this example the current buy price was 228 gold, that would mean we would take 860 gold (10 leapstones from the auction house), would try to get as close to that sum of gold in the currency exchange (which would be 4 times at 912 gold and you would get arround 450~ crystals) then you divide 450 crystals by 24 crystals, which would be 18.75 gold, so the networth of the 10 leapstones from mari's shop, compared to the t2 leapstones from the auctionhouse, would be so much more worth to turn your gold into crystals and buy the materials from the secret shop.
I kinda went overboard. I hope this is understandable and that it helps a bit? also excuse my poor math.
well hsi strategie stillw orks for this
except that 1 alt doesnt get the mats
but your main does
all other alts still get the mats
I did it the other way and I benefit more from that, so bascially, do it either on your main first or alt first.
This was the first part of the tower btw, forgot to mention that aka Shadespire
best video of the week! thank you
That's a solid advice. ty !!
Holy! U r my new fav Lost Ark creator. M|O|O|N enjoyer, not cringe, LoL reference. Fast and useful. Thanks
i disagree just do it on your main alt since you will need to get it to tier 2 aswell to get the stronghold honing upgrade.
I always click on his videos bc theyre all so straight to the point. I make sure that I like the video too.
I wish i saw this video yesterday :D did untill level 24 for the island quest, will keep this in mind for the future thank you! :)
Ok, my game crashed in the second floor of the tower, now I see that this was a blessing
omg great tip , thank God I saw this video before doing tower
But my char is already t2 why should i do what you say
Nice one, thanks for posting this. Level 48 currently so just finishing off the story and preparing for the end game.
Not really finishing off the story.
You are not finishing the story if
1: watching this video
2: lvl 48
3: preparing for endgame??? Wtf need preparation?
Wow that is so lame...why did they make it like that? Shards are already hard to come by when you're near that tier 2 threshold
Because it doesn't really matter. Stop caring about rushing because you'll just hit the wall sooner lol.
I don't understand the logic. I will have to use mats to upgrade my alt in order to run the tower so I can get the mats I used on the alt to get to the item level on the tower back. Or I can just run it on my main and use the mats from the tower on my alt to upgrade my alt. Am I missing something?
You will want to gear up your alt anyways. He will probably be fairly even with your main as long as you gear both up at the same time. But at you get closer to reaching the ilvl 600 hump, you will level way slower. However, if you use this method, it can quickly push you over said hump. I never did this though. I just visited all the islands, and that is really all you need.
In fact, the true strategy to this game, is having many alts, so you can farm certain content on multiple characters, and farm recourses like gold.
To clarify. A character can go back into the tower multiple times right. Say my equipment level was 400 the first time I went in. I can go back again at 450 and 600 and clear those levels too? Or is it a ONE time thing where if you go in at level 600 you’ll earn up to that level reward and cannot go back when gear progresses? Great content. Happy to find you
You can do it a million times, but you'll get every reward once
@@123bamboofrizbee So is there only 2 reward trees? First tree roster, 2nd tree crafting? or can you just keep redoing it will it show new crafting materials each tmie?
@@DRAEK05 first clear is roster, rest is crafting for every character you have
@@123bamboofrizbee but I dont understand why i should go in first time with an alt... Maybe i am stupid
@@christophh4069 cause it only makes sense to get the crafting materials on your main, an alt will survive if it doesn't get the crafting materials, but you want to get every boost you can get on your main
Whew. Didn't start on tower yet. Time to think about an alt then. Wondering which one I should powerpass. Took me ages just to decide on playing my Deathblade as main lol.
Now I'm going to spend another eternity thinking about my alt.
PS: Your channel is criminally small for the content you've put out. Hope that changes as the game blows up more. Keep 'em coming man!
For an alt, I’d recommend another character who wants the same engravings as your Deathblade, since engravings are a huge pain to get and they’re account-wide when you do get ‘em. Maybe try a ranged DPS class to get a different approach to combat and spice things up! I’ve got a gunslinger as my main and a shadowhunter as my alt and it’s really refreshing going from a ranged class to a melee.
And thanks for the kind words! Stay awesome.
@@lowe2182 I have to admit, I've gone into this game quite blind only researching stuff as I get into it. As such I have no idea about most engravings I should even be using.
Ranged does sound enticing though.
Hope you didn’t fall for this terrible tips and did the first tower run on your main
Anything good to do with bound mats that you don't need anymore?
What if my main is in T2 already? Wouldn't T1 materials be useless for my main, and better for my alt?
Thanks for the scoop. What is your opinion on using a Powerpass? What does a character miss out on by boosting?
Just for you, I’ll make that my next video topic. If you don’t wanna wait until then, the gist of it is the only thing you’re *really* missing out on is the 50 levels of muscle memory/experience with each ability on the character. You’ll get a set of end-game gear and be basically set on your path to begin end-game content. You’ll get a set of training quests as well that’ll re-introduce you to the end-game content and give you a handful of upgrade materials and currency to get started. They’ll also give you a pet and a mount, so no need to worry!
When you use the power pass you’ll be given the option to play through a few story missions that recap the story so far. You can skip them, but if you don’t then you’ll get some rewards like cosmetics / a pet.
It's not a mistake. You need multiple T3s, it will always be useful on something. Most people won't have an alt good enough to stay with their main for the first time and you're just gimping yourself gold from engravings and skill potions by holding out.
OH GOD! The tower sounds like Torghast in WoW:Shadowlands.
Can someone confirm this is nothing like that please because it would be a MAJOR put off for me.
Dude, I was hoping this would be something like Palace of the Dead in FFXIV and I wanted to do it purely for the challenge. But now I have to grind item levels, naaah I'm out 🙄
@@Stubbeh Damn! :[
@@Stubbeh sounds like you guys need to stick to mobile games or something idk
Can confirm that the Tower is nowhere near as horrible to play as Torghast. Each floor is like 1 room and pretty easy.
@@deathday99 Well Torghast is easy but just boring as hell, playing wise as well as aesthetically. But I dunno if it being 1 room is enough to sway me. At first I was loving playin (still lvling - lvl33 atm) Lost Ark but as I go I'm finding it more and more boring and overwhelming with all the upgrade mechanics. I know its about End Game but thx for the feedback though
And how should i do the tower on my clearly lower ilevel alt? I mean if he can clear the tower he is obv. more close to being my main than my alt...
Problem is, im never going to do an alt, i just hate playing alts. It feels useless.
I hope i dont need to quit the game cause of this, i dont want to be behind for some days just cause i dont play alts.
if your alt's strong enough to clear the whole tower, wtf does your main need t1 honing mats for tho?
I'm going on my 5th level 50, and still haven't found a class I enjoy enough to call it my main.
Great channel
Kinda sucky those materials can't be traded because I'm really not in the mood to go through the tower on an alt just to get them for my main as I'm only in the mood to play my main
Then only play your main. The world won't explode if you play the game how you want, lol.
@@Trepanation21 That's not what he meant, personally, they should've just added these rewards on your main as well whenever you clear the dungeon. Now if someone clears that tower.. that tower is basically useless because it doesnt get refilled.
The mistake is doing it on your alt first. You benefit more from doing it on your main.
Managed to hit t2 w/o tower. Now ill do 1st run with main so alts get T1 mats
If I did till floor 5 on my main. Can I do tower on my alt from 6 onwards and then benefit from crafting loot on my main for floor 6+?
almost to t3 without this and now my alt is t2 because i did the tower again on my alt this doesn’t even matter
I dont think telling people to do it on an alt first is smart. For instance I'm t2 on my main and haven't touched tower. If I do it on an alt first then I'll have all these untradeable t1 matts on a t2 character.
I did it and it said u can go up to floor 4 it’s max of 340
Wait so I messed up by doing the tower on my main? I'm only ilvl580 and I don't have an alt yet...
This is a min-maxing strategy if you’re really desperate for materials on your main. Don’t stress about it if you did it already.
You cannot just run tower twice on one character ?
not worth at all, the islands alone got me to 593,3 if u do this too early ur gonna get too much useless materials that cant go to your alts and once u go to tier 2 u Must have a alt at tier too and for that u will use the tower
Better to do Islands first then and see if you get alot of failures before going tower for more mats.
Well at least I didn't finish it on my main :D
this isnt true, you need to level your alt to get higher in the tower. which needs materials. thus cancelling out the mats you win on your main..
This is a holy big bad advice which i see to pop everywhere.
Do not do this.
There are island quests which makes you swim in T1 materials. Literally, i'm not kidding.
Open the Welcome Challenge, and at the last tab visit every island it mention.
Why is it a bad advice then? These islands quests are 95% roster, and cannot be done again with alt again, and your alt will be hungry for material.
It is easy to get t2 with your main, but this is an overkill. Most material you would get is bound to you, you can't give them to your alts.
Just do island, you can be T2 within a day, or worst case in 2. (I'm currently 1070).
Don't waste time on your alt, push your main to t2, research cost reduction for t1 then gear your alt!
so what happens to the first char we attend to the tower after we clear all the floors ? do we get any rewards if we keep running the tower ?
too late already got to 45 on main and i give up with the dumb blindness
what if my main is already at T2, should I still do the tower on my alt first or I should just go ahead on my main?
Personally I’m just doing the tower on my main first and using the tower resources on the alts
@@kobed2060 Thanks, I was leaning toward that too. i just dont know if the tower gives you t1 or t2 mats.
vid starts at 1:10
If the endgame is so fun why isn't it the main game?
I don't think this is really efficient. You basically waste a lot of materials on your alt to even achieve a clear. It's good for the first 24 or so steps but after that, it's not worth doing as the required GS is not worth the investment at this stage.
I made the mistake of waiting to do my tower on my main. I was tier 2 before I knew it and it would have helped me more to do the tower with my main using the other stuff to power up my alts. Especially since powering up alts is cheapened once you have a tier 2 character.
What if I already started the tower on my main?
Then your computer will explode and your dog will move in with someone else ;_;
@@Trepanation21 haha wow no way man guess thats it for me thanks for the info
i saw this too late...
Welp, too late now lol. Oh well.
Great but. You're not going to use these for your main, you should be t2 from doing the island guide and have no need for these mats.
NOBODY said this before I ran the tower on my main lol
I couldn't get past 15 anyhow. I get arrow merked. :P
damn i just clapped 25 levels with my main ;( ;P
this game makes no sense
all this does not matter in the slightest. clickbait video. you gonna need to invest those harmony shards back into your alt/main character to progress further in the tower anyway. it.does.not matter.
dumb video, the entire video is in reverse folks, dont waste time pumping ilvl on alts, those 2nd mats are FOR THEM, as your main will clear the 1st wave for them to grab the lower lvl floor materials smh
this is the worst advice i've ever seen. You don't need those mats in your main since you can do all those islands that will net you enough mats to get 600gs but guess where you are going to need those mats? In your fucking alts..... Telling people to do tower with an alt ( which is not going to be able to do the entire tower any time soon ) and then get t1 mats in your main? lmao.. i've watched a few of your videos so far but after this one i'm out.
Terrible tips. Enjoy having a hard stuck alt that you have to powerup to get the skill points while having a thousands of bound tier1 mats useless cause you are already t2 before finishing this damn useless tower.
thats stupid design...
It's crazy how many bad systems they managed to get into one game. And how people accept them because they're desperate
Stop clickbaiting plz
