Thank you for this..I always have a notebook with me during prayer time and quiet time. And throughout the day. Sometimes I questioned if it was ok for me to write while praying..but my mind also wanders so writing keeps me focused and stops distraction. Also write down if certain scriptures come to mind and then I have them to ponder. Notebooks are great. John puts it so very well. I can also look back at early journals and see answered prayers and growth. All glory to our God and King, Jesus Christ
I keep a journal too. I write my thoughts and scriptures that come to mind. I was recently faced with something I had to do but didn't want to do, sort of afraid to do. I remembered Esther and her courage. She inspired me! I read the book, wrote about her, and got it done. I see Jesus in Esther, which I never saw before. I wrote about that too. I write prayers too. It is a blessing to read those prayers and other writings and see how God has blessed me and how much I've grown spiritually.

So different than what may be taught nowadays, in terms of ‘listening prayer’, or automatic writing (which are more in common with eastern mysticism than discipleship of Christ). But to focus on scriptures, and sorting out thoughts on scriptures (renewing the mind), of course in relation to personal things too. God speaks so wonderfully in His Word, by His Spirit.
This is so interesting to me, because this is very similar to how I journal and I find it extremely helpful to sort out my thoughts and it often ends in me writing our prayers to the Lord, as well.
Well what I have to say about this is that Isaiah had written many things and as well as symbolically had a coal pressed to his lips, had also removed all of those things he wrote which he later decided were not what God was telling him to write and share with people. Personally I find that it is vetter to just write out anything that comes to mind and then later in further deliberation and reflection go back over it two or three times even, and anything that is dark or darker to make light out of. None of it is wasted unless you have to keep moving forward and then you just move forward. But even then it is good to get it out in expression in writing even if it is that it should be another case or could mean something else. Jesus meant something else by something He said. He even said once "what I mean is"

I've been using the free version of Evernote for many years to Journal and can highly recommend it. I have it loaded on my smartphone and laptop and syncs perfectly between the devices. You can search for a note by a word or phrase. You add attachments to notes and paste scriptures verses into the notes. I also use Evernote to take sermon notes in and do my Bible study prep in. Evernote is available for Android, Windows and Mac. Notes are protected by password but you can share them if you want to.
everyone has some gift given by God, and so it's a shame when anyone goes to Hell. Regarding talking about individual people going to hell, we have no idea where they are.... unless you had access to their secret heart just before they died!!!!!

do you recommend doing written journals or digital? if digital, how? a certain app or word document ?

I have found though that I experience it differently when I write it out.
