I feel like maybe the problem she has with Dave Rubin is that he gives his audience too much respect.

People can insult Ana all they want, but where are the posts that say "Ana you're wrong, and here's why"? Why are critics of Ana not promoting a different perspective? First person to actually have a position gets cake!
Well, realistically, you need a policy position to attack against a policy you disagree with. You're not going to find intelligent debate where you find a lack of policy.
With that said, I've got my problems with Ana, she's not always right, and sometimes the liberal position is insane and self-defeating. However, she called this pretty dead on. You don't go from socially conscious liberal to libertarian overnight - not without some sort of traumatic brain injury. It's like going from being Christian to Hindu overnight, except without the imaginary.

You totally missed her point. She'd respect him if he was honest about his opinions, that's all. Dave Rubin's show became an echo chamber for people with insane ideas to speak unchallenged. He doesn't openly agree with his guests, but he never challenges them if they are factually incorrect or openly bigoted. Furthermore he increasingly stopped interviewing progressives and liberals, while bashing the left as a whole. This isn't about "the left is triggered and loses its mind if you don't agree with it", it's about someone letting money influence his views and pretending he's still honest.

I remember listening to Ana on the Rogan podcast and liking her. Who is this person now? She's gone so far off the deep end it's scary. I don't think Rubin has gone right wing, I think Ana has gone so far left everyone else seems far right. So a lot of her criticisms are cherry picked in order to support the idea that Dave Rubin is some dumb lazy schmuck. TYT has a history of handling former employees rather badly. The reason why Dave Rubin doesn't exactly "rebuttle" people like Steven Molyneux or Milo...is that it's an INTERVIEW, there are no set rules for interviews. And Joe Rogan has a totally different structure/style to his podcast than Dave Rubin does. The anger and perhaps jealousy is easy to see in her commentating. A lot of people are leaving the left because of people like you who would rather shut down political discussion than support it, regardless of who it is.

Being a reporter means that you do your research and ask follow up questions, even if they make the interviewee uncomfortable. Hell, ESPECIALLY if they make the interviewee uncomfortable. Never seen Frost vs Nixon?

These two/three comments are fair, but the main point is: he is taking money and changed his views because of it. Conflict of interest. How does this add up, if he claims to be intellectually honest? I did. She failed to include that the government spends 18 billion per year. She thinks that the USPS is just as effective and only used Amazon in her argument while completely disregarding UPS. She attacked the one part of his argument without addressing all of the facts of the cost to run USPS vs. if Amazon just did the last mile on their own. She then used crony capitalism, which I agree is terrible and horrible, to then justify that the USPS is doing more for private companies than they should be and so somehow the USPS is superior, which makes no sense. Crony capitalism and the USPS giving Amazon a discount is actually another argument to stop funding the USPS.

ok 1. They challenge Dave Rubin on his statement "leftism is a mental disorder" but misquote him when they do it. bad journalism, use the exact words. 2. Ana said that his statement about amazon doing mail is just dumb, funny enough they ship ALL their products now and have stopped using other mail services. 3.She uses ad hominem attacks and keeps going back on the fact that "he's doing this for money", thats not a real argument. 4. She says college kids not letting people speak at their campus is not representative of progressives.. also not true unless you count college kids as apolitical. Like yes, Ana and TYT do think anyone should be able to speak but sadly that is not representative of the whole.

I've watched almost every single Dave Rubin video he's put out + a couple of interviews on ReasonTV and other outlets. Never once does he gone *in* on Cenk or TYT, out of courtesy to both his professional and personal relationships.... the same cannot be said about the way you and others at TYT have gone in on him. My cards are on the table here and the assumption must be that I'm some Rubin-bro - but it might surprise you that I've been watching TYT much longer than I have Dave Rubin.
Now, I fully agree that no one is above being criticized, but your critique of Dave's ambition and his less-than-perfect arguments don't impress anyone: that Dave wanted something more than what he could get out of TYT, both financially and intellectually, should be applauded rather than reviled. It's admirable. Your arguments come off as classist and elitist, on both the intellectual and financial levels; that we should resent someone because they have financial ambitions or dismiss them because their thoughts don't either align with your own OR are less than perfect just make you sound unreasonable and malicious. In other words, pointing a finger and saying, "all he wants is money," when that's only part of it and, "See he's stupid," when you've had an endless supply of idiotic, needlessly aggressive, and regrettable moments (one of the most perfect examples, you voluntarily provided in this very video) makes you no better than a Fox News segment.
I say this not to troll or hurt feelings: I say this in order to up your game and be better at this. I want you to succeed. You have a tremendous amount of potential to reach people - you are just stopping short 1 mile into a 5 mile race.
...and for someone who's worked with the guy for so long, you could've at least assumed best-intentions, talked to him personally before running this piece, and gotten his take on things: issue the pushback that he wouldn't. Rubin's 180 degrees turn politically took me back, but the way he back handed TYT shocked me. I couldn't work out where all this venom had come from. I gave him a chance and watched some of his interviews after, and I watched in disbelief as he allowed right-wing provocateurs to spout their bullshit without even challenging them, providing them an open platform to spread whichever message they were fighting to put out over the internet. Over the space of months he went from being on the left, to being against the regressive left (But no the left entirely), and finally to being an out-and-out libertarian.
...and then I found out the money was coming from the Koch brothers, and it started to make sense. He is just the internet's version of Hannity, except with stolen credentials for having once been 'progressive'. I've honestly got no problem with people changing their political views, but I take exception when they sell out to whoever wafts cash under their nose.

I agree with Ana everything she said about Dave Rubin is a fact. I fell down the Rubin hole and followed a trail of inconsistencies and nuances that led me to question and investigate his validity and came to the same conclusion. All information is accessible to the public.
I was almost about to comment the exact same sentiment. That was my experience with him as well. I discovered Rubin Report when it was brand new. I love the idea of a show with free dialogue. However the more I watched his show the more I noticed he brings on all these different people just to talk about the same nonsense. I find it hard to believe anyone would put Dave on any list that describes him as an intellectual.

I almost stopped watching TYT when Dave was part of the crew. He always pretended to know what he's talking about, but one economic segment did it for me...he's utterly clueless and worst of all, pretends the exact opposite is true.

Ten years ago I stopped watching TYT because of Ana's emotionally charged and often expletive laden outbursts and emphasis on editorial and conversational programming in place of straight ahead news.
I see nothing has changed.
