Another really helpful LR video tutorial - I find these short sessions that focus on two or three points to be the most useful (for my learning style). Thanks.

I use the clipping indicators for every photo. Usually by holding the Alt key while adjusting the whites and blacks. I didn’t know about the region section of the tone curve. That will really help me at times. I’ve been using a radial mask larger that the whole shot to pull highlights down for the whole shot if needed and the reworking the basic sliders to get where I want it. I learned about the Calibration sliders from one of your previous videos and it has really helped my landscape and other exterior work. I remember it as these sliders are adjusting the R, G, and B formulas of all the color RGB formulas. I find I sometimes then have to go up to the HSL sliders or use a brush to make micro area adjustments. Good video!

Hi from Christchurch, New Zealand. Thanks for your videos, Anthony. I have learned more from your channel than any other. The depth of your knowledge re Lightroom and Photoshop astounds me. You have a way of explaining things that has enabled me to not only improve my photography, but to also get so much more enjoyment from it.

Great video as always. Agree with what you are saying about using the tone curve. I used to use it quite a lot but have got lazy so have just been tweaking the contrast slider but I will start using the tone curve again and especially range, many thanks.

I don't consider an image as completely processed until I don't have any clipped areas left. Something I learned quite early on actually. If your eye sees the information so should the camera and the final image.

By far my favorite channel! I have exclaimed out loud "Oh my" or "Are you kidding me?" because of tips and tricks on this channel many times. My desk is covered in post-it notes of your tips. Unfortunately I don't do this full time so when I get around to it I forget a lot of what has been learned. I recommend your channel all the time. Keep it up!

WOW;;;;; Thank you Anthony. The calibration tab is something that I’ve never touched. What a dope I’ve been for 3 years. I’ve never asked about it. I’ve never tried using it simply because nobody has told me what the tone calibration sliders do and I’ve never used my brain to even try & see what happens. What a dummy I’ve been. I’ll. be using it from now on. Learning by mistakes. Watching your advice, making mistakes and learning again. I’m glad you made the calibration tutorial. Thank you. Neville J.

This was very helpful. I know Photoshop pretty well, but I never used Lightroom until now. And I’m only using Lightroom because my photography instructor insists. He hadn’t gotten to this part yet, so this will help me a lot. My photos pop well in Photoshop, but they don’t look quite as dynamic when I process the photo in Lightroom. Can’t wait to try this.

I haven’t looked, but have you done a video on which piece of software you use to process a particular image and why? I have the standalone version of Lightroom (6.13) plus Luminar. I’ve used Lightroom for a number of years and am comfortable with it, but just don’t like Adobe’s subscription. It looks like I could pretty much move over to Luminar without losing much. I would love to hear your analysis. Thank you.

Almost everything you say about Lightroom is the same in ACR except using the J key to show clipping. In ACR, the J key turns on and off the radial filter. I've always wondered why they did that.

Thank you for your videos. Can you do a video on editing in Lightroom and printing. I having an issue with color look good in Lightroom but when it come to print the colors are not match. Is there anything that i can do to make sure. What i see in Lightroom is what i will get when print. Thank you 🙏 do i need to buy a MacBook for better photo editing?

Colour management is a deep topic but is worth understanding to get the results you want. It's important to educate yourself on topics such as gamut and rendering intent so that you understand what's happening.
A good starting point is a good quality screen (most laptop screens are not good for colour accurate work) and a hardware screen calibrator from a company such a X-rite.
There is no need to switch to a Mac. I have colour managed workflows in Windows.

victor pham Be sure that your printing machine does not change the colors. I mean, when you print, your printing machine has a printing option regarding who manages the colors and you should reply Not the printer
