It’s definitely Chuck. First found Missler as he used to come to Chuck Smiths church Calvary chapel at least 30-35 years ago. Love his approach to explaining tough problems in scripture! I’m old.
I think it’s the younger truck. I listen to him on a daily basis. I absolutely love his teaching. I did the whole revelation teaching. He did holy cow what a fabulous teaching he did every night I listened. He is with the Lord now, and has blessed many people with his wisdom. I just love him.
Words cannot express how much I miss this beautiful man. I guess it was around 20 years ago I ran across his show 60/40 on Chuck Smith’s radio station. God bless him- until him I was stuck in that sin/regret/supplication cycle which lots of people stay in. These lectures showed me the sovereignty of God, how he cares for & arranges for the safety of the people he loves.
I really didn't think this was Chuck's voice but after listening more I have changed my mind. The cadence, sentence structure, and tone made me realize it is his young voice.

Yeah sometimes those at Calvary could get quite taken back from his stuff so Pastor Smith would occasionally, have Chuck to tread cautiously when teaching something as like this also his delivery is probably for those taking notes on the tape.

Those 3 months are off by 2 Sept 7, but is 9th mo Oct 8, but 10th MO Deca 10 but 12th mo Because the calender once had 10 months. They inserted 2 mos. making the names of these 3 months not correspond to the meaning of the name.
Dr. Patten was a guest lecturer for our physics department during my first year of college ('71-'72). I've been fascinated with this theory since then. Chuck does an excellent job of covering the basics of this theory.

I think the importance of Emmanuel Velokovsky is that he proposed that the supposed fables of the Old Testament were based on actual historical events. I read his books in the early seventies. It was a revelation that people had logical, scientific explanations about the miracles of the Exodus. His book "Ages In Chaos" was my first inkling that our assumptions about the dates of the Exodus were seriously flawed.

I honestly have no questions with God’s word. I believe it over science and I believe science is like a belief in its self. It’s theories and none of us have been to space but we’ve all seen really great movies who knows what’s true from the world.
The issue with science is that it assumes that observations of our physical world can be trusted. However, the Bible makes it clear that the world is corrupted and that it is under the dominion of Satan and his fallen angels. How can we be sure if what we observe can be trusted when Satan is the one who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9)? At least God assures us that His word has been preserved (under divine protection) so that we can follow the truth to freedom (John 8:32). This fallen world is a prison, but God's word sets us free.
We also need to remember Hollywood has the world in its snares and man-made productions are no substitute for the Word. A notable expression I’ve heard said: “Religion is mankind trying to reach God; Jesus Christ is God trying to reach mankind.”

I stated that incorrectly. The rotation of the Earth slowed down during Joshua's day and reversed for a short period during Hezekiah's day. The Earth wobbling on its axis could explain Joshua's long day but not the shadow going backwards on the sundial on Hezekiah's day.
Our flat stationary Earth doesn’t rotate and it doesn’t revolve around the sun. On the contrary, the sun and the moon revolve around Earth. When Joshua commanded both the sun and the moon to stand still, God halted the sun and the sun from revolving.

My reasoning about the sun stopping or the sun dial going in reverse is simple. Gravity and inertia would scientifically state it can't happen. But if God is not bound by time, could He also change our perception of the passage of time if for only a moment? We wouldn't need our watches in Heaven because there is no time, throw your watch and calendar away.
Perhaps the planets orbits have changed? Venus gets closer to Earth than Mars ever does and not near enough to have 1/10000 tidal effect of the moon. And inner planet orbits do not cross.

I enjoy listening to Chuck Missler. Only about 45 minutes in, but see/hear some errors in this presentation. The amount of days in the year was 364 (divisible by 7), 52 weeks, very close to the reported age in years of Enoch when he was taken -365. 360 is not divisible by 7 evenly. YHWH is consistent and precise.

Yep. Chuck was wise in many ways but like nearly all pastors was deceived in a big big way… & God takes the teaching of his people very seriously! Although I avoid the Word flat & stick with stationary earth. I do think it is mostly a flattish plane but there is mountains & valleys & could be a bit concave towards the edges who knows exactly but the Bible does say it does not move so I know I am safe with that.
Not so difficult to see God adjusting a sundial to rotate a bit or tilt the arm a bit so actually show the correct time. As most sundials were very approximate. I was once in a protacted car acciden,t incident where my body was flooded with adrenaline. I had the unusual experience of time dilation, where everything seemed to slow down. In fact many people have experienced this. And the adrenaline seems to speed up the brain processes sort of like turning up the clock speed of a CPU chip. Thus God did not have to stop the earth he just had to speed up the brain process speed of the Israelites. In fact severe stress could have flooded their bodies with adrenaline and created this effect naturally. So occums razor says the simplest explanation is the best. Of course this would not explain the long night recorded by the Chinese and Mayan astronomers. Or the extra 5 days in the calendar.

I read Velikovsky's books decades ago and couldn't believe his suggestion that the rotation of the Earth slowed down during Joshua's day and speeded up during Hezekiah's day. But the Earth wobbling on its axis could explain the phenomenas.
I stated that incorrectly. The rotation of the Earth slowed down during Joshua's day and reversed for a short period during Hezekiah's day. The Earth wobbling on its axis could explain Joshua's long day but not the shadow going backwards on the sundial on Hezekiah's day.
Our flat stationary Earth doesn’t rotate and it doesn’t revolve around the sun. On the contrary, the sun and the moon revolve around Earth. When Joshua commanded both the sun and the moon to stand still, God halted the sun and the sun from revolving.

My reasoning about the sun stopping or the sun dial going in reverse is simple. Gravity and inertia would scientifically state it can't happen. But if God is not bound by time, could He also change our perception of the passage of time if for only a moment? We wouldn't need our watches in Heaven because there is no time, throw your watch and calendar away.
Perhaps the planets orbits have changed? Venus gets closer to Earth than Mars ever does and not near enough to have 1/10000 tidal effect of the moon. And inner planet orbits do not cross.

I enjoy listening to Chuck Missler. Only about 45 minutes in, but see/hear some errors in this presentation. The amount of days in the year was 364 (divisible by 7), 52 weeks, very close to the reported age in years of Enoch when he was taken -365. 360 is not divisible by 7 evenly. YHWH is consistent and precise.

Although I avoid the Word flat & stick with stationary earth. I do think it is mostly a flattish plane but there is mountains & valleys & could be a bit concave towards the edges who knows exactly but the Bible does say it does not move so I know I am safe with that.
Perhaps, it was a combination of Full Moonlight with Sunshining? It stretched out the Sunlight for a longer period of time.
Not so difficult to see God adjusting a sundial to rotate a bit or tilt the arm a bit so actually show the correct time. As most sundials were very approximate.
I was once in a protacted car acciden,t incident where my body was flooded with adrenaline. I had the unusual experience of time dilation, where everything seemed to slow down. In fact many people have experienced this. And the adrenaline seems to speed up the brain processes sort of like turning up the clock speed of a CPU chip.
Thus God did not have to stop the earth he just had to speed up the brain process speed of the Israelites. In fact severe stress could have flooded their bodies with adrenaline and created this effect naturally.
So occums razor says the simplest explanation is the best.
Of course this would not explain the long night recorded by the Chinese and Mayan astronomers. Or the extra 5 days in the calendar.
