Absolutely! Not a full face powder, but a finishing powder. I honestly thought it said that on the box or on the packaging, but I'm not home to look at my own palette.
I'm paled-skinned as well, and the ambient powder shade that works well for me as a very lightweight setting powder is Diffused Light. There's no glitter in it. I find most setting powders are too drying, and diffused Light is perfect!
I actually use the hourglass powders for my face routine especially when taking photos. I use undereye concealer and spot conceal and then use the ambient light powders to set my whole face with a brush and use the deeper shades for contour/bronzer and it’s so ethereal in life and photos
@@lizk1780 Agree. Diff Light is great for my undereyes, down nose and chin (wherever Ive dabbed some concealer) and I Love Love Love Dim Light for rest of my face. HG is such an OG formula for a reason.
This should definitely be a series! Love that you keep some of your old makeup for sentimental reasons. I have actually saved my Marc Jacobs bronzer and eyeshadow palettes almost unused because they were the best. Didn't get a chance to pick up the mascara before the brand died, but it was the best!
The thing with those Hourglass powders... (and I've been screamed at in the comments before for saying this😆🤪), is that they are FINISHING powders, not SETTING powders. So yes, you're meant to just dust them "all over" as a finishing touch to your makeup 😁
The Hourglass trio is fab but these are finishing powders to use as a last step, so they are indeed glowy! They don’t replace your matte powders, though, they come afterwards. I use the 2 other shades as a blush/bronzer when I’m at my palest, they look great for that purpose!
About the hourglass powders : The one in the middle and the one on the right are very glowy. The one on the left however, could be used the way the you wanted to use it
This look is so pretty, this is how I wanna look every day!! I’m a longtime hourglass powder lover, they’re definitely finishing powders rather than setting powders! I definitely used them wrong to begin with hahaha! I use one close to my skin tone basically as a very subtle highlighter and then I set my cream bronzer with a deeper shade to give it that gorgeous glow but keep it in place
couple of my favourites/ones i end up always repurchasing: glossier stretch concealer - perfect for no make up days and layering when you're other concealers are making you look crepe like under your eyes nudestix glow highlighter in hey honey - such a great natural highlighter rare beauty lip souffle in courage -naturally blurs, matte and looks so pretty blended. i've tried other shades but this particular shade and formula wears so nicely, usually top this up with the tower 28 lip glosses - never sticky and comfortable to wear bronzer - huda beauty tantour -great bronzer/contour shade for me in light eyes - i usually always use mac ones or bronzer, but i have the illia eye tint, blended it wears beautifully especially if you have oily lids
Mac Face and Body Foundation and Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes/Bronzer and Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara are my faves. I have been using bronzer for my eyes since I saw you do it but I still like UD Naked 2 palette. I would love to see your all-time faves from all these years ♡
I agree . They are finishing powders. I use the one in the middle to set all over , the lighter one on my high points . They give you a sutil filter effect .
For eyes, i wear the kaja shadows every single day. They're dumb expensive now but the shimmery shades are my inner corner highlight daily even if nothing else is on my eyes!!
This is so fun! I’d love to see this as a series! I’d also love to see you try products that you loved when you first started & see how you feel about them now!!
Would love to see more videos in this series! Also a full face of Merit too. My OG fav is Mac's lipliner in soar. I recently compared it next to CT's lipliner 90s pink and they're identical! Love this shade! Also, CT'S blush in first love is an OG fav!
I really like this - I think many of u ‘collect’ make up so its nice to have something firing up the memory cell to use it again and also new products win win. I like you take suggestions from the comments - it gives me a perception we share a connection.
The reason we’re not supposed to mix spf with anything is that, sunscreen works by forming a film/ barrier over the skin. That’s why the directions state to apply 15 minutes before sun exposure. The formula has to dry down to effectively become a screen. Mixing it with anything else changes the formula and renders it ineffective. This applies to all sunscreens… mineral, physical, and combos. There are three cardinal sins of ALL sunscreen. Mixing Transferring to a different container And, not reapplying
I still have my products from your MAC kit 😊....very used, but still kickin' + plus your Nudestix bundle!! I love MAC blushes, you just can't go wrong with those. Awesome video idea of trying others 'fav' products. Good reminder to use your products up while learning from others' ideas. I wonder how'd you would get along with the new UD slick waterproof foundation 🤔. I've heard many good things . I might give it a go & apply it in light layers so I can see how well it works w/o the sweat stains running down my face, lol. I still love the Milani bronzer and Loreal lumi bronzer, and elf blushes, too (in the drugstore categories) For summer day to day, I usually just stick to a tinted SPF with concealer, bronzer, and blush with a lip balm, light lip or bright. Swipe some bronzer & blush on the eyes and mascara depending on the day & set w/ powder. But if I have a special occasion, that's why I want to try the new UD foundation. Then, I pull out the fancier products 😊. I've never tried Merrit, surprisingly. Great series, and that base is really lovely, along with the rest of the makeup. Loving all of this 😍 ❤️ xoxoxo 🤗 Yes, HG powders for finishing or highlight 😊 I also don't do waterproof mascara and I do have 2 lip liner recommendations (I'll message you), but they are good & what you're looking for.
The hourglass is a beautiful finishing powder. I use the same shade you used but with a big fluffy brush all over except the T zone because I have combination skin. I move the brush over the three shades to pick up a bit of each and then apply all over.
That blush color is amazing I didn’t even know they had that shade! Side note - do you think you could do a hair care routine? Like the regular washing (do you oil, deep condition, any treatments etc), drying (do you air dry, blow dry, etc.), styling (any after shower oils, leave ins, etc)? Would love to see that!
Would love you to do more! I think you would love the clarins lip perfector, it’s so creamy and moisturising on the lips. One of my favourite products ❤
Ah love the tarte bronzer!!!! Can you do another full face of tarte? I know you did one not that long ago, but I could not believe you didn't use the shape tape concealer!!!
What a great video, I really enjoyed it! Please do more like this one. I’m a MAC girl, so all of my OG products are from them. I guess that “ extended play “ is a forgotten gem. 💕
Most underrated blush is LYS Matte Cream Blushes. Beautiful, natural finish and they LAST!!! They have a couple deep shades that give that sundrenched, almost sunburn look. Easy to apply (I use a brush) and beautiful! Never see them talked about!
Maybe. I actually find mine difficult to work with. I'm only a shade or two darker than her. I don't think those blushes are meant for lighter skin tones.
Girl, you are going to LOL at me!! I have MAC Whisper of Gilt..the SAME one that came with the collection of yours that I bought years ago!! However long ago that was, I bought it and I'm still working on that highlighter lolllll I wear it nearly every single day and it is on its last leg but I'm taking it to Europe tomorrow even though it's nearly dead because it's my favorite!! I owe you my love for that highlighter 🥰🥰
How did I miss this on insta? What a great vid. Love the base. I want to try the EltaMD. I just need to make sure I’m mixing it properly to ensure I have the sun protection I need. Now I need to go and rummage through my collection and see if I can contribute to the next video in this series. You looked amazing ❤ (as was highlighted by Dejan)😂. ❤. Where can I purchase Elta MD in Canada? Thank you. 🙏 ❤❤❤
This was my first time buying hourglass makeup, I had gotten the Leopard palette for the holidays and it was honestly so worth it. All the powders were so finely milled and smooth. It made fall in love again with powder highlighters 😍😍 It is a lot of product tho and I won’t be able to get through a palette within the next holiday season, so I won’t be picking up one this year.
HOURGLASS POWDER: you need shade diffused light! Definitely a finishing powder, less of a blurring and more like a perfect, flattering, Angel light is always shinning on your skin!
Have you tried LH cosmetics? I love them & the products are so versatile! Love the fantastick, velvet couture (pink 💕) and any eyeshadow really! Also the elf transparent brow lift is the goat - affordable and does not move!
I also am in love with NYX nude beige! Colourpop cool bff is the closest shade match I’ve found! By swatch they are close but on the lips they are virtually the same!!
I love this video and hope you keep going with it! My suggestion for a product I think you’d love is the Fara Homidi face compact. It’s so beautiful and glowy and also looks really skin-like.
Remind us again where the square-button earrings are from? LOVE the base and now I’ve gotta have Elta tinted sunscreen to go with my MAC! And I echo your sentiments about Tarte and Kosas.
I would do anything to get those Kosas blush/highlighter duos back. I was truly devastated when I found out they were discontinued. 8th muse and velvet melon forever ✨
I do love to see these kinds of videos. Hope you do more. I realized recently that I love how the Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint looks on me. This and a good powder foundation like the E.l.f one I think is all I need.
I would love to see you review several Saie products (the liquid blush and the Saie Sun Melt bronzer). I really like The Merit bronze in Clay on you. I've going to purchase that.
No one ever uses or talks about it but I have exclusively used IT Cosmetics Bye Bye under eye concealer for YEARS. I have tried soooo many concealers and none compare! I love it because it’s thick and pigmented so you need the TINIEST amount (like sooo small.. just warm it between your fingers then dot it on wherever you need and use your finger to blend out). Since you use so little of it, it is lightweight, resists creasing, and the tube lasts FOREVER. It’s also waterproof so perfect for summer. I also love the Elf Halo Glow Lose Setting Powder. I have never seen anyone use it but I have been using it since before the Halo Glow Liquid Filter was a thing! I have Dry Skin and I love that it helps set my makeup but my skin still looks like healthy glowy skin with it on!
I never comment on RUclips but you have to try clarins 4D mascara! I’ve tried YSL and Clarins 4D is by far the best! And Rose Inc. Skin tint foundation serum, it might be a good dupe to the Chanel foundation you like, I use this all the time. I am also curious about the cover girl dupe too, I haven’t tried this on though.
Fun! I forgot about lots of these. I’ve always wanted to try the Mac Face and Body but still haven’t! I think the only product that I use that I just don’t care to ever find a replacement is the Calliray tubing mascara. Anytime I’ve tried a different mascara I’m disappointed. They ALL leave a grey smudge on my eyelids no matter what. It’s also so easy to remove and not clumpy for me, until it gets old. I’ve been using IT cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer for years and also love that. Any time I’ve tried a different one it just isn’t as great and leaved me looking dry and crepey.
When I worked at Sephora I was instructed for the hourglass powder to use a large fluffy brush and tap off to set makeup across the face, not a detail brush. I think it picked up way more product than was intended. Additionally, I’ve never seen someone set a hydrating low opacity tint before with it. I imagine it going with a medium to full coverage liquid or cream with a drier finish like their foundations.
I also have super sensitive eyes and I use the Estée Lauder Little Black Primer OVER mascara to seal it in - it makes mascara wear like waterproof but comes off super easily for me!
The hour glass powder is a finishing “photo” powder not a setting powder so I usually use it at the very last step with a big fluffy blush all over my face to create a glow effect (especially in photos!)
Hi. Love your day-in-the life content, too. With Meryl. 😂 Off topic, just wondering how you are doing with the BC wild fires? We are feeling it in northern WI, too.
The way I use the Hourglass palette is : Dim Light (first on the left) I use as a soft bronzer, the middle shade is def a highlight and the last shade I use as an orangy blush ⭐
That Hourglass powder palette is finishing powder, meaning, after you set the base with setting powder, you swap this one for that specific finish...like Guerlain meteorites.
I would love to see a full face of YOUR fave products from all these past 11 years! xx
Please go on with this series! So so good 💖💫 love all the old pieces. So classy!
I’d say the hourglass is a finishing powder not a setting or baking powder x

Gals can I ask, what is finishing powder for? I have an HG palette but no clue what part of my face that product is meant to be for
@@lizk1780 Agree. Diff Light is great for my undereyes, down nose and chin (wherever Ive dabbed some concealer) and I Love Love Love Dim Light for rest of my face. HG is such an OG formula for a reason.
I love how you include your followers fam into EDM, it’s so wholesome! 🥰
I’d love to see you try the new Lisa Eldridge tinted serum.
This should definitely be a series! Love that you keep some of your old makeup for sentimental reasons. I have actually saved my Marc Jacobs bronzer and eyeshadow palettes almost unused because they were the best. Didn't get a chance to pick up the mascara before the brand died, but it was the best!
I have all the Marc Jacobs bronzers still. Lol.
Never letting them go!!

Loved the concept of this series!!! Love that it’s a mix of high low too.
The Vieve mascara is incredible, doesn’t flake or smudge. My lashes are growing using it!!
Loving all of the Everyday May videos, Allana!!!!!
Could you do a “What I’d pack in my European summer makeup bag” video?☀️
YES to more of these videos! I love this format/idea!
Such a fun format! In summer, nudestix bondi bae and Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in calypso coral are my got to
couple of my favourites/ones i end up always repurchasing:
glossier stretch concealer - perfect for no make up days and layering when you're other concealers are making you look crepe like under your eyes
nudestix glow highlighter in hey honey - such a great natural highlighter
rare beauty lip souffle in courage -naturally blurs, matte and looks so pretty blended. i've tried other shades but this particular shade and formula wears so nicely,
usually top this up with the tower 28 lip glosses - never sticky and comfortable to wear
bronzer - huda beauty tantour -great bronzer/contour shade for me in light
eyes - i usually always use mac ones or bronzer, but i have the illia eye tint, blended it wears beautifully especially if you have oily lids
Mac Face and Body Foundation and Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes/Bronzer and Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara are my faves. I have been using bronzer for my eyes since I saw you do it but I still like UD Naked 2 palette.

I like this style of video - could be a series also with favorite drugstore products and then sephora/higher end products. 😊
Allana hourglass has their illume color trio? It’s a palette of three creams, a bronzer, a perfect peach and and highlighter. So pretty! 🍑✨
For eyes, i wear the kaja shadows every single day. They're dumb expensive now but the shimmery shades are my inner corner highlight daily even if nothing else is on my eyes!!
I love them too, great color combos.
This is so fun! I’d love to see this as a series! I’d also love to see you try products that you loved when you first started & see how you feel about them now!!
The Tower 28 Skin tint is AMAZING!! I use it mostly daily.
Would love to see more videos in this series! Also a full face of Merit too.
My OG fav is Mac's lipliner in soar. I recently compared it next to CT's lipliner 90s pink and they're identical! Love this shade!

A fun idea would be to buy whatever makeup pops up on your tiktok ads eventually making a full face! Love your videos 💓

I still love the Fenty Beauty cream blushes, they’re amazing
Does Fenty last all day?
Love this video! Would love a series of these!
I would love this as a series ❤❤❤ We could go way back and pick our Mom's favorite makeup products ❤
I still have my products from your MAC kit 😊....very used, but still kickin' + plus your Nudestix bundle!! I love MAC blushes, you just can't go wrong with those. You should try the saie blush in baby! It’s the perfect cool tone pink and so easy to work with
Would love you to do more! I think you would love the clarins lip perfector, it’s so creamy and moisturising on the lips. One of my favourite products ❤
I remember watching the OG RUclipsrs and seeing the tarte blushes. Made me go to Sephora and get captivating. Miss the old days of RUclips
This make up looks SO good, the base is stunning xx
I swear I could almost smell Park Ave Princess, the memory of it, what a great bronzer.❤
I’ve been loving the YSL all hours foundation and the RMS powder blushes!
Ah love the tarte bronzer!!!! Can you do another full face of tarte? I know you did one not that long ago, but I could not believe you didn't use the shape tape concealer!!!
You are so right, that is a good formula. Will need to find a shade that could apply to most people.
What a great video, I really enjoyed it! Please do more like this one. I’m a MAC girl, so all of my OG products are from them. I guess that “ extended play “ is a forgotten gem. 💕
The hourglass bronzer is fabulous and love the Vieve cream blush products especially cherub
Awesome video!! Love Everyday May!!! All sunscreen from MD SolarSciences are so slept on!!!The spf tinted lip balms are so beautiful!!!!!!!

The entire estae lauder double wear line is amazing! I’ve been wearing it for years!!

My fave MAC base concoction is to mix Face & Body with MAC Strobecream ! For light coverage that has a lovely glow 🙌🌷🌸
How did I miss this on insta? What a great vid. Love the base. I want to try the EltaMD. I just need to make sure I’m mixing it properly to ensure I have the sun protection I need. Where can I purchase Elta MD in Canada? Thank you. 🙏 ❤❤❤
I think you'd LOVE the Redhead Revolution mascaras in both shades 😍
I use the hourglass trio as a finishing powder to buff and add subtle glow
This was my first time buying hourglass makeup, I had gotten the Leopard palette for the holidays and it was honestly so worth it. All the powders were so finely milled and smooth. It made fall in love again with powder highlighters 😍😍 It is a lot of product tho and I won’t be able to get through a palette within the next holiday season, so I won’t be picking up one this year.
Park Avenue, What a throw back. I remember. ❤
You are glowing in the best way, beautiful!
Ok this is my #1 fave: Wet & Wild Hello Halo highlighter. Nothing I’ve tried beats it.
I love this one! It's so pretty and natural-looking
HOURGLASS POWDER: you need shade diffused light! Definitely a finishing powder, less of a blurring and more like a perfect, flattering, Angel light is always shinning on your skin!

Ohhh that blush looks lovely on you! Will have to try it sometime. And wow the Freck lipliner looks promising 😍
The hourglass loose powder is fantastic!
Love seeing others fav makeup products. Great video 🫶🏻
Loved this idea! The look turned out so beautiful! You look gorgeous! Please continue this as a series! 🤩
L’Oréal panaroma mascara, Saie blushes, I love the Merit shadow.
I'm so excited for the Meryl episode!!
I felt it and a bit when I purchased my first MAC product 😅 so nostalgic!
I just love the Summer Fridays skin tint - so damn good!
Milani color statement lip liner in the shade nude 03. You will love it!
That was fun! Everything seemed to play together very nicely 😊.
Estée Lauder sheer! One of the few matte skin tints-- great for oily skin
I love the tarte bronzer! It’s my Holly grail. Glad to have you back!😂😂
Lancôme teint idol eyeshadow/blushes are so good. Its similar to the Armani ones.
Oh Allana, love this video especially when you play in makeup trying products. It’s what I live for ❤❤❤
No one ever uses or talks about it but I have exclusively used IT Cosmetics Bye Bye under eye concealer for YEARS.
I enjoyed this video so much! Loved the concept please do more!! Also your little comments always make me laugh 😂
I agree on your thoughts about Kosas. They used to have the most chic clean beauty aesthetic before clean beauty was a thing in Sephora.
Like this format very much.
The hour glass powder is a finishing “photo” powder not a setting powder so I usually use it at the very last step with a big fluffy blush all over my face to create a glow effect (especially in photos!)
Please try the hourglass loose powder! You’ll love it
Summer Fridays Skin Tint is honestly an amazing product ❤
Yesssssss continue this plzzzzzz. ❤❤❤❤ also what happened to Too Face!?
That elf mist sprayer looks so nice. I’d just decant my porefessional spray into that bottle 👀
Yes please continue this type of video.
Hi. Love your day-in-the life content, too. With Meryl. 😂 Off topic, just wondering how you are doing with the BC wild fires? We are feeling it in northern WI, too.
The way I use the Hourglass palette is :
Dim Light (first on the left) I use as a soft bronzer, the middle shade is def a highlight and the last shade I use as an orangy blush ⭐
Do you have thoughts on the Freck freckle pencils? 🤎🤎🤎
That Hourglass powder palette is finishing powder, meaning, after you set the base with setting powder, you swap this one for that specific finish...like Guerlain meteorites.
As soon as you pulled out the Freck lip liners, I was like oh yea she’s going to like those
Allana Dior has a new gloss that is lilac and would go with your blush combo, it is beautiful
You need to try the it cosmetics nude glow cc cream!! It's a lighter glowier version of the OG
omggg i rember your face and body and nars matte concelear combo! was one of my favorite recomendationsss ❤❤
