- Hello, Good People. Welcome back to another Rate My Cult! This is the story of how one creator called Nature Boy turned his RUclips page into a thriving cult called Carbon Nation and then lost it all to ego. It's a tale as old as time, but how does this cult stack up against the rest?
RUclips is a great tool for most of us, but for some, it's a weapon. The story of Carbon Nation is a cautionary tale. This is what happens when you believe in something! They'd have been better off joining a yoga studio and going to the farmer's market.

I saw this man in the dentist office waiting room with two beautiful young women earlier this year (before he was in the news) they were holding wicker baskets containing his personal items. I had this on my “watch later” playlist bc I wasn’t sure I could handle it mentally.
Long story short, I was engaged to a woman who became brainwashed by NatureBoy. She listened to him day and night. She meant more to me than anything in the world. I truly thought she was my soulmate. We talked about the fact we felt like soulmates often. Next thing I know, she has “wives”, hates me and left me high and dry. Now I believe this was God’s work. I would’ve done ANYTHING for this woman. But I couldn’t agree that Eligio was the Messiah. You can challenge anything about me, but MY faith is my OWN.

I like how positive this was regarding most of the members of Carbon Nation and what it could have been without Eligio Bishop. I think a lot of us wanted to see them do great things early on and then it just descended into worldstar-in -the-woods because they were being lead by a crazed tyrant. I too want to see the members recover and move on to shining their own light into the world.

I think it's dope she brought up how language shapes our worldview and if one can alter another's language, one alter control and alter thought patterns. Yes! I find it interesting too that because they've altered definitions of commonly accepted words, the four wives have a hard time speaking in comparison to how they spoke when they first arrived or before. I read that abuse, cults, and the language itself alters the brain so perhaps it's the region of the brain responsible for speech in addition to reasoning, judgment, and processing. The 'self' here is ultimately him because he's the highest self and thus the different definition as what was once understood. So who is actually the self of the wives and few guys left? Lastly, as a doc student, I would totally want to research this speech phenomenon.

My aunt and uncle used to believe in metamedicine (later called metaphysics) way back in the 80s. She used to watch this white guy channel an alien consciousness with a weird voice and cadence. (My uncle would watch too, but he wasn’t as engaged.) God help you if you couldn’t hold your laughter cos aunty would chew your ass out lol. She even wrote books on metamedicine; she and her husband were actual doctors so those books were pretty dense and out there.
I admire my aunt, though. We’re Nigerian and she’s (now in her mid 80s and) lived in America since she was 19. She’s always had a strong personality and was the first person I knew who wasn’t Christian, Muslim, or traditional believer like most people back home. She was an atheist who had little regard for the church and its practices-but she believed in aliens channeling through some dude in California lol. She didn’t have anything to do with my own path to atheism, but I can’t but give her massive respect for being a trailblazer

I'm one of those people that have been watching this group (on and off) for a long time because they can't turn away from the train wreck. It's like watching a reality tv show (Desperate Cult Wives.) But even as a long time viewer I learned some more about them and Nature Boy.

The idea of calling the United States "Babylon" comes from the Rastafari religion which says that "Babylon" means Baby London. The Rastafari applied the word towards all Western Nations which were racist/imperialist/colonialist.

It was influenced by Christianity, some African Tradional Religions brought to the West Indies with the slaves, vegetarian diet, "Black" consciousness, and heavy use of marijuana (its supposed to help one tap into the divine consciousness of God).

@@MayeMuses I was there in the very beginning in 2016 for a year when it was melanation and it was totally different and positive then, I did the music in the beginning, they called me bp. when I was there one of his former wives that had came and left, was found dead, her and her 3 month old baby. Smh if I remember correctly she died of an drug overdose and had fell on her baby and suffocated her and the baby passed away also. When I left it felt like I suffered a mental breakdown. I was seeing spirits and experiencing a lot of weird spiritual things. Thank God he saved me from it all. (Side note: I never slept with bishop, back when I was there it wasn’t all about sex, more about connecting to nature, and the black woman being god)

you really hit it when you mentioned language and mind control. George Orwell laid it out in his scary novel 1984 when he discussed the regimes "New Speak Dictionary" designed for that very purpose & brilliantly done i am afraid to say. Many of his followers were definitely using it as a way to be seen or put talent to use. We are in the age where you can make something with your editing, rapping, dancing, writing, fashion, etc., through exposure of youtube and social media.

There are many Ruthless'esque cults out there. I remember when ppl got on Tyler Perry about certain scenes in his Ruthless series being too violent or taboo but when those same situations are brought to the light of reality, everyone is all shocked. Nothing shocks me anymore because people have been telling us for years what really goes on in the dark and we choose to ignore or write it off. Nature boy is just one of many cults that are like this around the world. Some go under radar because their abuse may not be so blatant but nonetheless....they heavily exist!

Censoring does nothing, but down play the horrors of reality, and in a way also desensitizes people so they’re skeptical regarding whether or not horrible things actually happen which isn’t good at all. People should be made aware of how horrible reality can get because it makes them more likely to sympathize and do something to fix the cruelty.

Alcohol has been essential in his control of his followers, if you wanna add that to the drug rating. Combining the “vegan diet” (he would only give his followers fruit and a little beans and rice) with copious amounts of alcohol and that’s what motivated a lot of the fights we’ve seen.
