My nails typically take 30-1 hour to dry. They only take about 15-30 min to dry on the surface, but if I were to move or hit something with my nails then they would smudge because the underneath is NEVER dry. It's so frustrating, and I have extremely short nails too. This video was very helpful, even if you didn't think it worked, it wasn't supposed to dry them 100% and it is definitely faster than the normal top coat for me. So thank you!
Oooh! I like this series! But I agree with you about the perfume smelling nail polish, doesn't seem very safe and healthy. Looking forward to the next video in this series!
these truth or fail videos help a lot!!!! maybe try doing one for galaxy slime or galaxy in a bottle, I really want to try this but don't want to buy new supplies in case if it doesn't work it would help me out a lot!
This video was amazing! You did such a good job! You covered every base of checking if the test was a pass or fail. And the quality of the video and the way you made it was great! You rock! :)
I do this with my daughter and it does work. I lightly spray the oil, then rinse in cold water. It does not instantly dry, but it does speed up the process a great deal.
You should do the homemade Mod Podge one and then test it. It is commonly used for lots of crafts but can get pricey. When you search "mod podge recipe" all these pins come up saying that you can just mix a a bottle of Elmer's glue and water together and it is the same exact product, I just have yet to do it. A lot of the pins also say that you can add a dense glitter to add a sparkle to the mod podge or a pinch of varnish for a glossy finish. You should totally try it!
Actually you are supposed to dip your fingertips in very cold water after you spray it and it will cleanly come off and make your nails nice and shiny. I tried it and it does really work. Thanks!
Yeah it didn't even work as well for me as it did for you.... As soon as I tried to wash the PAM off I ruined my nails drying my hands! Like you said I'll stick to a fast drying top coat and the FAN!! LOL
***** I would still try it in a pinch though. Waiting a few minutes was the better choice. But I guess this is why companies created products designed for fast drying nail polish but hey, I give you an *A* for effort and creativity!
Yeah, that's my feeling too! If I was ever out of top coat, I'd definitely try it but when I've got a top coat that I know works well, I'll just use that. Thanks for watching!
So glad I found you! New to youtube and just started our own series, so now I'm into it and looking to see everything that's out there :-) This is such a great channel. Happily subscribing :-)
The pam actually worked better than I expected. I've seen using pam or any kind of cooking oil on your manicure as a tip for making them dry faster before. But I'd always brushed it off as being a way to prevent smudges but not drying nails any faster. I like seche vite but I wish there was something that worked as well without the chemicals. thanx for the video
I love this series!!!! I'm not sure if it's on Pinterest but can you try the eyeliner temporary tattoo. Maybe you could try other things besides the spray band aid to protect it >-
I tried the pam today, difference with me is I did a top coat over my polish waited 3 min and washed with cold water and it was dry. I don't know why you would think it's ok to start rubbing polish with a paper towel so soon after doing this that's just excessive. I think this method works really well as long as you don't do anything crazy for the next hour with your hands. also I think top coat alone takes forever to cure on it's own I've always smeared it when I try being careful up to 20 min later. I did not have this issue with the pam method.
I just blast the hair drier at my nails for a little bit. Makes them dry faster. I found this trick while painting kids nails, makes it easier for them to not get paint all over the house
It's supposed to dry the top layer of polish so you won't completely ruin it, your nail polish is technically still wet underneath the surface layer. It works like any regular nail drying spray you can get at the beauty supply store.
U should do the pin that says how to get Sharpie out if different types of fabrics/surfaces. =] (not sure what it's called, but it should come up if u search for it.)
try making glasses with wine bottles by wrapping a piece of string that was dipped in acetone (polish remover) around the bottle, lighting it on fire for a bit, and then dunking the bottle and all into icy water and then firmly "smacking" it off a table to break it. also, sanding the edge you created to smooth it down.
No duh the nail polish wipes off cuz its wont dry in 2 minutes... normal nail polish takes 10 minutes to 20 minutes to somewhat dry cuz you cant expect this to dry right away. This helps to dry its somewhat and shorten the drying process time
alexis ang Then why did she even spray the "Pam" in the first place if she still needs to wait 10 - 20 minutes? Then it's pointless. The point of spraying the "Pam" on your nails is to make them dry faster. Clearly,it didn't work. :) Plus, what nail polish takes 10 - 20 minutes to dry? Maybe an old or really really cheap one. :)
Yeah, the Pam isn't meant to dry them completely. It's kind of like running them under really cold water. It's meant to set the top so that you can move around more freely sooner while they finish drying. You still shouldn't do anything really movement heavy, but at least this way you can bump your nail with your hand without ruining all your hard work. My sister uses Pam and then washes it off with cold water as like, a double dip so she doesn't ruin her nail art. I just stick to the cold water. Pam was too oily for me so I always needed to wash it off with dishsoap afterwards. If I am using an oil, I would rather use my cuticle oil than Pam, which I believe is vegetable oil. I prefer coconut and jojoba for my cuticles.
That's because Pam cooking spray is only one molecule away from plastic as are most margarines. It should never be used with your food. All websites have been removed from the Net about Pam.
I feel like this test isn't reliable. I wish that you had done a control test to show how the polish dries on its own that way we could compare the two drying techniques (air vs. Pam) to see if the Pam actually sped up or changed how fast the polish dried.
That's what I did in round 3. I sprayed, I rinsed, and then I tested it out. If the Pam doesn't dry the polish so that I can't swipe at it with a paper towel after giving it several minutes to set, I don't think it works very well.
Don't put so much on your balls Nails thts part of the problem but i do agree with you and it worlds for some people not all which in forget thinking is kind of stupid
yeah seems pointless, 3 minutes wait with the pam and then the clean up, seems longer to me than the normal way and apart from the cuticles nothing seems to benefit...thanks for testing though, too gross for me lol
This will NEVER work if you use the Baking PAM that has the added flour. It has to be regular, cooking PAM. And don't spray it super close to your nails. about 6-8 inches away works.
It dries the surface faster, so that you don't get nail polish on everything that you touch. Nail polish usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully dry, so this speeds up the process.
I tried the pam today, difference with me is I did a top coat over my polish waited 3 min and washed with cold water and it was dry. Its the original kind and your way to close it works for me perfectly .

You didn't wait long enough omg

love this series ! :)
hi, could you make a video of the watercolor diy mug on pinterest!
Actually you are supposed to dip your fingertips in very cold water after you spray it and it will cleanly come off and make your nails nice and shiny. I tried it and it does really work. Thanks!
Yes, I use it after about ten minutes of drying.
Yeah it didn't even work as well for me as it did for you.... As soon as I tried to wash the PAM off I ruined my nails drying my hands! Like you said I'll stick to a fast drying top coat and the FAN!! LOL
Exactly! Nothing beats a fast drying top coat!

Thank you!

That worked because when nailpolish tutches water it dries in like 5secs

You should test out "Cloud Lighting", you take a paper lantern, glue on cotton fiber, hang it and put in an led light!
Thanks for the request! I'll have to check it out!
Thankyou
i wait ten minutes before spraying them. still faster than a "fast drying" top coat in my experience, and it works perfectly
You should do the egg face mask or egg pore strips
Olive oil can also work
try making glasses with wine bottles by wrapping a piece of string that was dipped in acetone (polish remover) around the bottle, lighting it on fire for a bit, and then dunking the bottle and all into icy water and then firmly "smacking" it off a table to break it. also, sanding the edge you created to smooth it down.

which fucking nail polish take 10-20 minutes? none.
calm yourself! Why, u expect nail polish to dry im 1 minute... um no
depends on the polish and how thick your coats are .
alexis ang Then why did she even spray the "Pam" in the first place if she still needs to wait 10 - 20 minutes? Then it's pointless. alexis ang nail polosh takes like 4 mintues maxium....

can you do the DIY helium balloons for ep 5 xx
Hairspray works really well. Pam is too oily but hairspray works really good. You Intel have to wait a couple minutes
Can you try the homemade koolaid playdough
you also dont want the have it 100% soaked with pan, lightly spray, it shouldnt be foamy and that should help too :)
That's because Pam cooking spray is only one molecule away from plastic as are most margarines. It should never be used with your food. All websites have been removed from the Net about Pam.
your spraying too close.
good point, the propellant in Pam is Propane. Acts like a mild solvent.
When I tried, after the polish was on for a few hours I started to notice little tiny bubbles forming in the polish. Not a good look to me
Why was the pam like foam? Did you shake it?
I'm not sure. I used Pam for Baking and Pam for Grilling and both were pretty foamy.
You are suppost to put Pam on them to help it dry faster it doesn't dry completly
can you have a giveaway
you're supposed to use the regular cooking Pam not the baking, or grilling Pam
You don't want to be tempted to smell something with so many chemicals, but it's okay to apply it directly to your body? The logic.
Pretty sure lungs/breathing are more vital than fingernails
hi
Hello there :)
Nail varnish drys in like 2 minutes any way if you don't cake it on, so yeah this is pointless. Thin coats work better than thick layers
I feel like this test isn't reliable. I wish that you had done a control test to show how the polish dries on its own that way we could compare the two drying techniques (air vs. Pam) to see if the Pam actually sped up or changed how fast the polish dried.
Cold water is the best
That's what I've heard! I'm going to have to try that next.
MORRREEEEE
Yeah, we basically have to wait a couple of minutes to let it dry...
I think it wouldn't of worked the second time if you didn't apply water
U did it the wrong way, after u spray with Pam cooking spray ur spose to rinse with cold water, not paper towel
That's what I did in round 3. I sprayed, I rinsed, and then I tested it out. If the Pam doesn't dry the polish so that I can't swipe at it with a paper towel after giving it several minutes to set, I don't think it works very well.
you didn't use enough Pam.
Actually you tested 2 pinterest things in this video running your nails under cold water to make them dry is a whole other hack.
Don't put so much on your balls
Nails thts part of the problem but i do agree with you and it worlds for some people not all which in forget thinking is kind of stupid

it looks really messy...
Of course it won't come off it you let it dry for 3 minutes.
you gotta consider this nail polish dries too fast, i guess it´d have been better if you tried another nail polish
EPSD 5 put your finger I an ice cold water to see if they dry
Cold water sets your nails the best. Pam is utterly gross!
Agreed!
Dude, they wouldn't dry the second you put pam on it *facepalm*
You should have a better intro instead of not talking for almost 30
seconds
If you have to wait even with that stuff on it, whats the point?
Right? In those three minutes, it would've air dried anyways.
It dries the surface faster, so that you don't get nail polish on everything that you touch. Nail polish usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully dry, so this speeds up the process.
