This is one of the best “set-ups” of the 100’s I’ve watched. Why? The simplicity and I HATE stuff dangling on packs. I like minimal multiuse equipment. Well done.
I usually tuck the sternum strap on the backpack behind the chest rig just to keep everything out of the way. It takes a little manipulation, but it makes everything fit the way it is supposed to.
Yeah I had a snubby recon initially, but I switched because I like the zippered front pocket on the snubby runner’s KB and I wanted wanted MOLLE but a bit more covert so the laser cut MOLLE/Velcro fit the bill nicely.
Thank you! Its been Working great! The only change i made to my setup is that i now run the KB directly off the shoulder straps of my pack via the HPG loadlifter straps. This eliminate a the issue of the top OF the harness from riding up on my neck because if the wiegh, makes it easier for donning and doffing and acts as a nice counter wieght for my main pack. Because i never plan to use the KB as a standalone this set up works great for me.
I just uploaded a new video detailing the mods I’ve done to my kitbag. Adding the eyelet grommets is very very easy to do and cover this a bit in the latest upload.
probably one of the best setups I've seen I find the bare medium Runner to be a hair too small and my medium SAR to be a bit too much. Did you sew the molle panel to the front? Very interested in that phone mount.
Because I almost never run my KB as a standalone I just need it to carry the item I need access to while on the move. That said had they had the medium KB at the time I got this I would have gone with that one and I think it would have been perfect! I think if HPG added an elastic expandable main pocket it would be make this perfect. The only thing I would add as an amendment to my videos on the topic is that if you run the KB loaded to its max capacity like I do it will have a tendency to cause the harness to ride up and push on your neck which is easily mitigated by Remington the harness all together and run the KB off the shoulder straps of your pack via the HPG load lifters. Much easier for donning and doffing as well. Been running it this way ever since.
I can’t figure out how to use All Trails in landscape view. Just got the Juggernaut case and mount. Would be much easier to use the app in landscape mounted horizontally like that.
@@freddyt86 yeah Its dumb that All trails doesnt have an option for this. I find the Earthmate app just isnt as user freindly as the All trails app though.
I have not. I did “Google” it just now and i do not see any comparison between the HPG and Fitdom which From what i can tell is made with substandard plastic hardware and looks (to me anyway) to be quite uncessarily bulky. I dont see anything that the Fitdom can do that a HPG KB cant. The ONLY benefit i can maybe see is in the Price category but as tge saying goes id rather “buy once and cry once”. Again this is just my oppinion as someone who has never actually had any experince with the Fitdom and have an open mind if anyone can chnage my mind. 🙂
By chance you fellas have extra PDW / Black flag summit club morale patches ? Totally missed them. Just need one !!! Do you fellas have a Facebook group ?
No FB group at this time Just Instagram (it a lot of work lol). We held back a couple for some local people if they back out we might have one or two left. Yes, that is why, if you follow us on IG you will see that we run the KBs off the shoulder straps of our pack via the load lifter straps. Because of the weight it will have a tendency to be weighed down and make the harness ride up and push against your next as you have pointed out. The harness only works if you don’t have alot of stuff in the KB …the minute you start putting anything with weight like a pistol with a loaded mag and a spare you’re gonna run into this issue. When you run it off your pack with the hangers not only does it alleviate this issue but it also provides a nice counter weight to your main backpack and also streamlines the donning/doffing
I’m sorry brother but I didn’t catch what kind of case set up your using for your phone. I need to get one of these, pretty much the sleekest way to hold phone and access maps via phone. Great job.
Thank you! 🙂 to answer your question; the case is a Juggernaut IMCT case with the PALs mount (I cover both of these individually in previous videos in case you wanted to check those out. Highly recommended!)
I have the juggernaut set up on my plate carrier and their phone mount in the vehicle. Their mounting systems are bulletproof once you get them set up.
I am interested is the what you do for work? And where did you get your laser cutting and all that type of stuff done for your phone? So the part what looks like a phone I see that you can take photos with it with it on your chest rig. What is on the backside of that is it a screen? Do you have access to call out on that or is that a special type of equipment that you use if so, what is it ?
I work for the Govt. The laser MOLLE panel is from a Company called the Patch Panel and sewn on by a Company called Renewt in Vancouver BC. The Rest of you questions i feel would be better demonstrated in the video i did called “The best addons and DIY mods for your HPG Snubby Runners KB” and “The Juggernaugt NAVboard-L for land Nav use”.
muchas gracias! Me alegro de que hayas encontrado algo de valor en mi video. ¡gracias por tu apoyo! por favor, echa un vistazo a la página de Instagram también @blackflagsummutclub

I have a suggestion on how to improve your kit..... drop that maple leaf and come to America and put a Glock in that kit bag like it was designed for. SMH comianada
Won’t disagree with you there. I have spent much of my younger years in Washington and Montana and moved up to Canada when my son was born as his mom is Canadian. Especially, under this current leadership Canada has become more and more of a dictatorship and the Liberals are doing there best to erode what is left of freedom and democracy. So hopefully the citizens smarten up and make the right choice at the polls in 2025. That said, Canadas current plight should serve as a cautionary tale on what happens when you let the government have an inch and don’t speak out (like the frog in boiling water analogy)….under Biden the USA could soon find themselves in a similar pickle. Go Brandon!

Kit bag is my most used outdoor gear. Ive got 4 of em now.. Love your mods
Same here man. And Thank you! :)
Nice overview. I love see how other people set up their Hill People Gear.
Glad you enjoyed it :)

💯
I got a couple great ideas from you to incorporate into my chest rig. Great video.
Thats great! Id Love to see what you end up doing to it.
I've got a couple kit bags, They pair well with a Tarahumara.
Thanks for the review. I’ve been looking to this setup. Has much to recommend it. Access, counterbalance weight distribution.
Im glad you found this video useful in some way. 🙂
love your channel bro. I've been modding gear for a long time and seeing you put your own twists to things is really cool. Very unique. good job
Thank you! I’m glad your found some value in our content! Thank you so much for your support and feedback. 🙏🙂
Had one for about 10 yrs now, just switching over from the Recon to the Snubby.
Yeah I had a snubby recon initially, but I switched because I like the zippered front pocket on the snubby runner’s KB and I wanted wanted MOLLE but a bit more covert so the laser cut MOLLE/Velcro fit the bill nicely.
Great review! Useful info
HOW OR WHO SEWED THE VELCRO ON THE FRONT? THANK YOU GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you! The laser cut Velcro panel is made by The Patch Panel and sewn on by a company called Renewt Repair. Highly recommend both.
Algo brought me but subbed for the nice review - looking forward to more my man!
Thanks so much!
Dropping a follow from the HPG FB group!

Love the idea of attaching eyelets on the bottom for bear spray. Is that something you did yourself and if so was it hard to do?
Not at all, I’ll be making another video detailing all the mods in more detail soon :)

Great video. Love your gear setup 👍
Thank you 🙏🙂
Nice Vid man :) love your 'Tactical Chapstick' 😁 Somethings weird with the Audio for me though (at the beginning) 🧐

Please do a vid on the attachment of the juggernaut system

Yeah unfortunately the AllTrails does not let you change to view to panorama. But I also use the Garmin Earthmate and Exlpore apps which do.
@@BlackFlagSummitClub that makes me feel better. Not sure why you can’t. Would be nice. I have Earthmate and CalTopo, so I can use those.
