I just finished watching the episode this song was in and I was thinking: "I want to go listen to some Masaaki Endoh, some Hokuto No Ken, some Clear Mind, and then I find this. I am now sufficiently confused and psyched up.
I honestly do not know why i love Japanese music, it has some kind of energy that pulls people in, like if they sing with all they might, not just kind of sing. There are some European/American bands that can do it as well but much more rare. As for Masaaki Endoh, he is one of my favorite singers even tough i'm not Japanese. This son as i know is an adaptation but he is brutally good with this lyrics, and sounds like it's actually his song.

Yeah, once you've finished the series there's a movie. I think it's the second longest anime film ever made (2 hours, 46 mins). The movie is awesome so be sure to watch it! :D
I watched all the Endless Eight episodes non-stop, I almost went insane by the time episode eight finally came. I don't know why they decided to do that, I think they could of fit a lot more story in rather than repeating the same events over and over with subtle differences. Anyway, once you get past it (which I'm sure you have by now) you won't want it to end. I was so upset when I finished the series and the movie.
even though endless eight is the endless eight, i was not slaughtering myself all the way through, it actually gave me time to work out what was wrong, i was so close to it when it finished, endless eight is amazing tho.
