Les Filles De Cadix by Leo Delibes. (There is an outstanding recording of it by Victoria De Los Angeles - Liz R only does 1 verse - presumably to fit the timing of the broadcast.) I have very happy schooldays memories of Liz Robertson as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady alongside Dame Anna Neagle as Mrs Higgins as I was taken to the production twice . Here her singing is a little bit spoilt by pitch problems - not always in tune, but that could be partly the age of the video recording. It is so good to see these shows preserved - a treasure trove.
The same song is featured as Rita Morris' second number on Good Old Days 1981 4/6. She sings the whole thing and makes a great job of it - as well as an aria from Giuditta by Lehar.
There really were the good old days. Nothing like that today. They were clean, colorful, entertaining, talented. RIP all concerned.
the song at 31.15 sung by Liz Robertson , can someone tell me the title please.............
