    Been watching John for a couple of years, and still never knew about the vocational ministry experience. Even more respect than I had before as a former part-time pastor myself. Appreciate the passion for church security. Hopefully, God will make it possible for me to move my full-time work in that direction eventually. Waiting and working for His timing.

      Perspective - Biblically you are in full time ministry. You may just happen to be doing it at a corporation etc. Jesus called us all to "Make Disciples". Good book on this - Your Work Matters to God - Doug Sherman. Hope this makes sense.

      The Mormons have full time security for most buildings. You can ask them for a security plan. But they also ban firearms from Church premises.

      @@Jkp1321 i know he was referring to the leadership and primary workspace. And as a Mormon that's seen several different building layouts for Mormon churches i can tell you that while they tend to be similar the layout isn't identical across all Mormon chapels.

    • @Direwolf1166
      @Direwolf1166 2 года назад +1

      @@ImperiumLibertas yeah if they have full time security I've never seen it at church. Maybe you are confusing regular chapels with church headquarters in Utah?
      Any way, while official church policy is don't bring it i tend to lean on the side of what they don't know won't hurt them. Plus they haven't put up any no gun signs and individual bishops can make the call for their ward. My dad's bishop wants him armed every week. Consequentially i simply don't ask.

    Dude, that’s 100% incorrect. There’s a reason we (pilots) call thunderstorms “airplane disassembly factories.” There are numerous accounts of airplanes crashing due to turbulence.

    2:28 - "Am I going to be able to connect with God if I don't feel safe?" You say no, but I totally disagree. Ask those believers in China or Iran or North Korea or Syria if they feel a connection with God in the most UNSAFE places to be a Christian ... I'll bet they feel more connected to God than any of us in our "secure" churches do. Acts 16:25-26 .

      Tulsi Gabbard was smeared a traitor for visiting those Syrian Christians and speaking up for them. The US neocons have done more harm to Christians than any political force for decades.

    Well that was not quite correct I am a pilot I fly jets for a living and yes there have been plenty of airplanes knocked out of the sky because of flying in extreme turbulence. Either clear air turbulence (go look at the B-52 that had its entire vertical fin tore off from clear air turbulence) or thunderstorm turbulence. But of course just a normal light turbulence he’s talking about is nothing more than like riding a boat over some waves.

      @@ASPextra That's right you are a Private Pilot. Good for you. Hope you get to fly some as busy you are. Some of the accidents in Thunderstorm turbulence were Commercial operations but that is true most of even those were not Airlines. Even small planes can be a Commercial Operation and Large Planes can be Private Operations. John Travolta used to own and fly a Boeing 707 privately and noncommercial. So that's right the airline sector of Commercial operations are very safe. We don't hear of Airline accidents in the U.S. almost ever anymore. But it has happened the weather channel even has a show called Airline Disasters that has a few cases where even airlines have broken up in midflight because of thunderstorm turbulence or Clear Air Turbulence over the Rocky Mountains. U.S. airlines know better now and just don't fly within 10 miles of thunderstorms. I guess you are right about just the light turbulence does not cause accidents that are just like a boat going over some waves. A few flight attendants have gotten broken legs and ankles from a few severe clear air turbulence events. I have seen a few of those in the news at my airline. This is a fun confidence booster. Last winter a hanger collapsed that a jet at my company was inside and the huge steel beam of incredible weight fell 50 feet onto the jet's wing below and was resting on it and did not damage the wing at all. It just scratched up the paint. It did crush the nose and the engine but the wing was not damaged! Modern jet wings are incredibly strong. Thanks for the excellent instruction that you give! As a commercial pilot I love getting good training and instruction in everything that I do.

      ??? If you're not at church, you're neither safe nor unsafe at the church. If you're in there, you're either safe or you're not but if you're not there then you can't be safe or unsafe.
      Avoiding cults is good, it's best to stick with the mainstream denominations. The biggest churches in any major town tend to be the most mainstream.
