    Great review! I do wish that this NASB Large Print Wide Margin Bible used a two color scheme just like the Handy Size Preacher's Bible. But other than that, its a great Bible. I may purchase this after I read through the LSB Large Print Wide Margin one.😎

    Another excellent review. Thank you brother. This will be a big upgrade from my Foundation Side Column that I've had for 20 years. I just wish it had translator notes. I'll make my own. LOL. Have you seen the cowhide version? That's what I'm looking at.

    • @msctshrly

      They’re having a site-wide sale, so now’s the time to buy one. I have the cowhide paste down LSB-it is very nice.
      You will have to wait for at least another full year for the Stridon-esque 1995 from Lockman, which may arrive in Q1 of 2024.

    Would you choose this over the Passaggio? I love the margins on this because I like to take lots of notes but I also like the layout and the gilding on the Passaggio? Are there any other single-column, wide-margin, VBV Bibles? Thanks for your great reviews!

    • @msctshrly
      @msctshrly  Год назад +1

      For preaching, I would choose this Bible every Sunday, but for reading at home, I might prefer the Passaggio. I am not a big fan of the gilding on the Passaggio; it has less of the mirror finish that I prefer. Zondervan has the NASB Journal the Word Bible, but there is no gilding on the page edges.

      You’re right, none of the Steadfast Preacher’s Bibles-whether in the NASB or the LSB-have either footnotes or cross references.

    Thinking about purchasing this to pair with my Original Preacher’s Bible. I would want to use this Wide Margin edition to bring with me to the pulpit and likely pick it up and read while walking around so I’m not standing in one spot the whole time. How do you think that would work with this Bible size-wise? Is it small enough to pick up and preach out of while holding it? Great review!

    • @msctshrly
      @msctshrly  2 года назад +1

      This Bible is larger in all dimensions than most other Bibles. However, the 40 GSM paper, while it is thick, is not nearly as heavy as the coated 65 GSM paper of the OPB. You should be able to pick it up and hold it without any problems, but it might be kind of awkward if you wave your Bible around in the air.

    • @samdunyak
      @samdunyak 2 года назад

      @@msctshrly I gotcha! That’s what I’ve read/assumed. I’m much more willing to sacrifice a bit on the size for the sake of the wide margins. Makes a world of difference being able to have some notes right next to the Scripture, especially when preaching. I initially bought the OPB for the same reason I’m looking to buy this one, but it was so much bigger than I thought it was going to be. Still fell in love with it as a wonderful in-depth study tool, but something a bit smaller would’ve been ideal. This seems right up that alley. I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on a Handy Size Preacher’s Bible, but this wide margin seems like the perfect middle ground. So I may pull the trigger sooner rather than later. Appreciate the reply!

      The Lockman Prime series is magnificent, and their 2020 Reference Edition is good even in the cheaper editions. Lockman will be re-typesetting their 1995 lineup, and, if it is produced with as much quality as the Reference Edition, then I will be a very happy man.

      I’ve been very hesitant to buy a Schuyler NASB95 due to the 28GSM because I highlight and underline a lot and it’s also a pretty expensive bible just like that one but the Schuyler has everything I need in it for study and reading but especially the references and footnotes.
