you have explained the criterion related validity wrongly i guess. it is dependent on the outcome of the measure that whether the test was successful in un measuring the criterion that it claimed to be meausing

Hi, well the explanation is correct (based on AK Singh Book). Validity in general measures what you've written, & criterion related compares the outcome with an external already set criterion, instead of with peers.
