I LOVE THE DARK HINTERS SERIES BY SHERRILYN KENYON!!!!!!!!! Sorry don’t mean to yell but this is my favorite authour and I hope you love it also.
So, heads up about the series dark hunters … it is a VERY fun paranormal romance series , but it’s LONG. Like 30+ books and spin off series long- and it’s really important to know that each book is about a different couple , think Bridgerton. So , if you really like a pair , keep in mind you’re not going to get as much focus on them outside their own book. Dark hunters also branches out into its own type of MCU with were hunters , dream hunters , all kinds of gods and etc . My mom started reading it when I was in late middle school / early high school in the 2000’s .. and I picked it up in college when a friend got me into it (and I now have all my moms original copies XD ) some of it is very much dated , and there are hits and misses . Don’t take it seriously, and just enjoy the ride . ( also if you can find it , i HIGHLY recommend the guide book she came out with . It’s literally an encyclopedia for well… everything. lol)
Back in highschool when I started reading The Dark Hunter series and I became obsessed. But as the series went on I felt like I needed a flow chart (in a good way). I want to do a reread of the series before the next book comes out.
The dark hunters website is a god- send when it comes to reading order ! Personally, I ended up liking the were-hunter books more than the strictly “dark hunter “ ones. I would also recommend gena showalter’s lords of the underworld series and immortals after dark by Kresley Cole.
😊 I couldnt have said it better. I love this series, its so much but theres alot of heartbreak too. Acherons story gutted me, hes my favorite though, and Simi. One day we'll get the rest of the characters stories we've all been waiting on. Its alot of fun though

Oh my gosh, I'm SO excited for you to try Sherrilyn Kenyon! I was so obsessed with the Dark Hunters series in my late teens/early twenties and Fantasy Lover was my starting point too. A lot of the early books you can definitely start in any order and then the overarching storyline starts getting more important. So you could definitely begin with Night Pleasures - the reason I think why it's debatable which is the first book is that Fantasy Lover takes place in the same universe and is the first book chronologically but isn't actually a proper Dark Hunter book.
I read the entire PLL series a few years ago and I had SO MUCH fun lol, it was so nostalgic for me
I'm trying to finish Daughter of no worlds, of blood and fire, and potentially start Ship of Magic, but honestly its up in the air since I'm such a mood reader. I knew as soon as you started using your library it was going to be a case of "Danger, Will Robinson, you have entered the toxic domain of too many library books and not enough time, turn away". We all do it, sadly. 😅🥭🍊

My goal is to finish some of the books I’ve been reading for months, if not years. 😅 I also want to read the entirety of the Southern Reach Trilogy though because there’s a Jeff Vandermeer rerelease event for them at my local bookstore that I want to go to so I can get the new copies, but I haven’t read any of Southern Reach before. I just feel like I’ll really like it.
I hope you enjoy the Sherrilyn Kenyon book! I read her in HS, and even now I have fond memories of laughing at the amount of snark and sarcasm in her books. I will say, though, that her series do tend to be just a bit too long, and after a while all the male love interests seem to be clones of each other.
July is my mood reading/series catch up month. I'm definitely reading One Dark Window (a gift from a friend for my bday), and also "The Mortal Word" (5th book in the Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman), the 2nd book in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire, and the 3rd book in the Veronica Speedwell series. Other than that, it's just whatever I feel like pulling from my TBR pile or KU.
I’m planning on reading Golden Son by Piece Brown in July, I finished Red Rising at 3am this morning and absolutely loved it! I’m also carrying over 3 books over from June, which are:

GOLDFINCH is released in September! I’m rereading Time’s Convert to get ready for The Blackbird Oracle by Deborah Harkness. It releases in late July! It’s my most anticipated book of the month year and I have 2 copies coming!

In June I read the shadow of bones trilogy so for july I want to finish the grishaverse and all the smaller books with it. Also, I finally got twisted crown from the library so I'm starting the month off with that!

I made a TBR plan months ago for July.. and then found a readathon for Mermaids vs Pirates and of course I've gotta get in on that so now instead of changing my previous July plan I now have 4 times as many books than I can feasibly read for the month? Doing great!

I am sorry I never see up and budgeted for comicon. I’ll have to do that next year. I live in California so I can easily get the San Diego and I love comic con I went once 09 and once in 2010.

I’m wrapping up Alone with You in the Ether and honestly I am not prepared for the ending. I think after I am going to read Fathomfolk by Eliza Chan and Widowland by C J Carey. Really getting into mood reading and hoping it turns my year around.

I'm reading The Cruel Prince because my daughter is making me read it😂 I'm also doing rereads of Fahrenheit 451 and I who have never known men but the French version. I read 20 books in June for reading challenges so I'm slowly going back down to 5-6 books for July🪙

I'm currently trying to work through a backlog of subscription box books, and I've picked a bunch to prioritize this summer. I've got Evocation by ST Gibson and Warm Hands of Ghosts from OwlCrate's adult box, Winterwood and Ghost in the Machine from their YA box, as well as The Fox Wife, Weyward, and Ana Maria and the Fox from BOTM. No idea what I'm actually going to manage since I'm also being hounded by a few library holds, but I'm trying to be chill about it all, lol🪙
