Dude, can you explain something to me? Everytime i see Soundsystems play their sessions they call it "DUB" or "Steppers" but then they play just Roots Reggae. Why is that? Why are soundsystems ALWAYS calling their sessions DUB sessions when they never even play Dub? In your whole set you played two versions the rest were vocal tunes, so why do you call it DUB? Its pretty annoying.
I understand what you mean. What I notice around me is that Roots Dub and Steppers have become container concepts, to which everyone gives their own interpretation, just like me. During long sessions I always play the roots Reggae and dub of a tune. not in short online sessions, which you rightly point out. I do this because it keeps my feeling interesting. My youtube channel is a hobby for me, where the goal is to share music and spread a positive message. Big up🙏 I translate my answer with google translate.
@@RootsandDubRecords You call yourself Roots and Dubs, why not calling your sessions ALSO Roots and Dub sessions or Reggae and Dub sessions? Even if you play the dub right after the original tune ( a practice that i always found extremely pointless and boring but i guess its part of Soundsystem tradition) its still half Reggae so why call it "Dub and Steppers Session" anyways? Also i don't get why "Steppers" has become a genre of its own. It's just a basic Reggae Rhythm just like the One Drop or the Peanut Vendor but i don't see people acting like "One drop" is a genre of its own suddenly. It's pretty confusing. Anyway thanks for your reply and i wish you the best. It was not my intention to offend you.
This could be Rotterdam or anywhere Liverpool or Rome ! It’s the awesome Selektor Arie’ in da house or rather his basement I see you shaking your groove thang all over the place - you are such a joyful soul and I so like your enthusiasm for all things reggae ! Imma bit late to this party and I see you started without me but I’m tuning in right now as I’m writing this comment - you are spinning out those big bombastic sounds of roots and dub and you’re doing very well selektor A & there is no doubt this session will be great from start to finish that’s why I’m confident in sending this comment before the end of this session has arrived ! I am enjoying this to the max oh yes ! There’s past and present tense in here as I don’t do things halfway hahahaha I’m fully all the way all of the time - that might not make sense but I’m just gonna go with it anyway hahahaha… Well done and thank you my friend - see you on the next one… Ttfn;)
Thanks again for your comment Joanna. I look forward to each session after uploading. It is a blessing to see that the effort is appreciated and that we share the same passion. Today I chose Google translate because with my limited English it is difficult to express myself. Bless up Joanna. you are a positive person in life and you are a blessing to the people around you.
