Philadelphia Freedom - Live at UNSW International Night Markets (Oct 30th 2023)

Here is a performance of "Philadelphia Freedom" that I did for an International Night Markets event that my university was holding. I had played at the same event back in April (it's on my channel!), so I was happy to perform again. However, I was only allowed to play one song this time around, so I chose to perform "Philadelphia Freedom," which is one of my favourite songs to play on piano. Taking place well over a month since my last IRL performance, my piano and vocals for this song have improved immensely. However, I faced a few issues throughout this performance. First, the amps that were provided for my keyboard were not working properly, hence why you can hear a 'popping' noise in the louder parts of the choruses. Second, there are a few piano flubs and voice cracks throughout, which is not ideal considering I am playing in front of hundreds of people. Despite these issues, I give a good performance overall, demonstrating my vocal power and improved piano work. I sing the first "live and breathe this Philadelphia FreeDOM" in post-1999 phrasing, going down on "DOM." I also attempt long "born"s in both choruses. However, they come out sounding somewhat strained. I do not attempt any high "shine the light" belts, as I am still spooked from two recent attempts on September 21st and July 21st, both of which came out extremely rough.
