Love to hear how comfortable the SOTR Lies are for prolonged wear? Obviously you can’t wear it on a plane, but an hour shopping you certainly can. Congratulations on all the nice stuff!
Bc it gives you temporal protection and still allows comms? Why would you willing give up ballistic protection at 0 extra cost? Mich you cant use comms so I get why you wouldnt run full cut. But high? Youre cutting off 1-2” of armor coverage on your dome for what trade off? Bc its not for comms. And its a very fractional margin of weight.
@@xxCOKERxxPWNxx don’t see how you can run peltors or other ear muff comms with out having the headband inside the helmet. Which is not doable on day to day ops because of loss of comfort. Also you can’t remove your comms like the high cut which is needed on summer ops.
Okay so you have a mid cut helmet with comms, now this I'm curious about. I still can't find anything examples on it like how it differs from a high cut when dropping the comms are over the ears. Do they need to be manipulated into place at all?
Do not get Chinese made helmets, especially like hard head veterans. If you can’t afford Ops Core, Revision, or Team Wendy helmets at the moment try to get your hands on an ACH/ECH helmet. You’ll typically see Soldiers wearing them, but anyways you may be able to find them in a military surplus store. Go to one if there’s one nearby. It may not have the same features but it provides the same protection, only difference is weight and appearance. You can still customize it if you want, you can make it high cut as well (just be careful). If I can recall I once saw an ACH or ECH helmet that costed $300-400 dollars. Also ask yourself if you actually need a ballistic helmet. If you can’t afford an ACH/ECH helmet, get your hands on a bump helmet (which I did). Go check out the Protec Alpha - Bravo, they’ve even been around before other helmets came out. The Military to this day still wears these, they are made in USA. Some level of protection is better than no protection.
@@cheapmagnets9909 Basically a bump helmet provides no ballistic protection but rather protection from getting hit in the head like if you fall or hit your head or someone hits your head. If you don’t need ballistic protection for your head, then go with a bump helmet.
Cheap Magnets, hey bro just wanted to say after reading these other comments to your question that I will totally disagree with ThatGearCollector 2002 ! I have a hardhead veterans helmet & it is awesome! It cost $503 which is a fraction of what any other helmet cost that provide comparable protection. True it is produced in China but with American materials, thereby keeping the cost down. It is NIJ tested & has the least amount of backface deformation out of any ballistic helmet........ANY!!! Hardhead veterans also stands behind their product with lifetime warranty on material & craftsmanship, something your not gonna get from a surplus ACH/ECH that only saves you $100. The protect helmets the other guy is talking about is ok for airsoft (which is all I’m sure he does) or for riding a bike. It is a bump helmet not a ballistic helmet, made to stop fragments & penetration from smaller caliber weapons. Check out some of the independent testing on hardhead veterans helmets I think you will be quite impressed. Hope this helps
Guys i have a question for you. Do you know if its posible or what type of headset can be mounted on mid cut helmet? I've been issued and have to use midcut, so geting high cut isnt an option.
$2500.00 dollars if not more worth of gear. I had my AMPS headset stolen out of my vehicle. I'm a retired Deputy and now on the auxiliary tac team and being that we have to supply a lot of our own gear including comms set up except for the hand held radio. Being retired on a fixed income money is extremely tight and it would take at least a year to come up with another set of AMPS. So I contacted Ops Core to see if I could possibly get a little help on another set of AMPS. I also forwarded all of my law enforcement credentials to them. Well they were rude and pretty much told me to go pound sand. After talking to 3 different people at ops core they said they would give me 10% off a set. Really 10% off $900 dollars. Do the math. They emphasized how they mainly work with the military. I got the impression ops core/gentex doesn't support law enforcement all that much. I sense had to resign from the auxiliary team and it sucks.
Thank you for the info and sharing the video. I'm researching NV so I can get one in 1-2 years. It seems a durable, good quality and high performing dual tubes is around $10,000 -$14000. Do you foresee the price going down in the next few years as the technology improves or are we looking at that price range of $10,000-$15,000 regardless technology changes?
Being forced to wear a skull crusher under a K-pot it an old-school kind of hell. It has to be as close as Jesus wearing the crown of thorns as on could get.
Please do the review on the SOTR first. It is a hot topic right now but with vaccine distribution that window is closing. I am very interested in getting one of these because I might be working in a hospital and need to wear a mask daily, for extended periods of time, while talking. I tried another brand of daily use mask with replaceable filters (Envo), but it is designed for people with short and flat faces. The area under my eyes did not seal well unless I had it on so tight that the tip of my nose touched the inside of the filter holder and that caused a seam in the gel seal to sit right on the bridge of my nose, not a long term solution. $300 is a lot to throw down on a gamble. Is the interior at least 3.5" - 4" tall? Could the top of the mask accommodate a protruding, long, thin nose (that sticks out 1" from the face where the cartilage starts at about a 110 degree angle (almost 90) and is about 1.75" long)? After spending a day in a gas mask I'd always have a red mark across my nose for hours and air was shooting up into my eyes the whole time. It'd be nice if there was way to custom fit these and/or have a gel seal around the edge.
The theory behind the mask was that you were preventing the moisture droplets from you from contaminating other people. The sotr has exhalation valves that would not stop that moisture. My work completely banned masks with exhalation valves. (I find the data shows the entire mask thing to be a hoax in regards to the China virus, but want a sotr someday to protect me from lead inhalation)

We have used these helmet since 2012 in the norwegian army. They are great
Not exactly. That is one of the newer helmets that came out a couple of years ago.
I believe the Norwegians use the Opscore FAST/high cut helmets.

Looking forward to your NV series

Hey Ivan, could you do a review on electronic ear pro? Or what your experience with electronic ear pro in real world situations has been?

Whoa, lucky dog!!! No wonder everything is out of stock 😥
I've been contemplating a ballistic helmet for awhile now but wasn't sure who I wanted to go with.
As Thunder Ranch says, "You should spend more time communicating with people than shooting them."
Great stuff looking forward to seeing the next videos
Awesome can’t wait to see it all set up
3:15: And how do you get attach rail headset for Ballistic Helmets
Ops-core makes stellar gear no doubt. I was blessed with a freakish head; 24”+ , their XL wouldn’t fit, had to go with HHV...
did you try an XXL?

do they offer the sentry with the super high cut rails now? interesting
How has the mid cut helmet worked with the railed AMPs?
Does the helmet mounting arms for the amp work with the low cut helmet?
it's a mid cut, not a full. Should work. But I asked him.
Wow, that 40 degree day melted all the snow..........
