- Difference Between Monohull and Catamaran Fishing Boat 2021 - Invincible
When most people think of a fishing boat they are probably imagining a monohull (or single hull). However there are plenty of options and styles of boats to choose from, including the catamaran. One of the greatest benefits to the catamaran is the additional space you can get without going any longer. We wanted to do a side by side comparison of the traditional monohull vs catamaran. We chose to walkthrough Invincible's 42' Open Fisherman and 46' Catamaran to keep our comparisons within the same brand. Both boats have extremely similar features and layouts with notable differences in the beam, console storage and stability, just to name a few. Everyone might have their own opinion on what style they prefer but at the end of the day the best boat for you is the boat you're going to love and use.

This is the best brief explanation of the differences between a cat and a mono hull I’ve seen yet.. You ladies do a excellent job and are a credit to the sport of fishing and the boating community.. Keep it up ladies!
Very nice explanation. Love the channel.
Fantastic comparison! Well done, Cap'ns, and Invincible!
Love this video, Keep up what you are doing.
Nice thorough tour. I would have thought that the monohull would have had more of a need for a seakeeper though. Huge difference in the console/head area that I wasn't expecting.
Thanks for all the helpful information
Great video & subject Captains 🌷🌷Would love to see comparisons in other Brands 😁
Great video guys. We were there too. Really good show. Got to see them V12s
Thx for sharing! Such a great breakdown! on each boat!what do you think of the new 235 CC World Cat?
Always a pleasure having you both come by the booth!
Thanks for having us!!
How long before FWC figures out about the smuggling hold under the ⚰ 📦? 😂👍
Well done, Amanda and Emily! Invincible would be very smart to have you both represent their boats, especially with the large number of Subscribers you have.
Great overview and explanation.
@ 11:11 Love the smile when she says like this boat was made for twins....I think it's time for Invincible to step up and get these ladies into a new boat!!
Dumb idea...why would Invincible do that. Maybe you buy it for them...makes as much sense.
@@borysnijinski331 Why not? With all their subscribers they would certainly promote the brand. That boat would cost Invincible pennies on the dollar. Why would you think it's a dumb idea? With an idiotic comment like yours...why are you even watching their channel? Trolling?
@@QSSCEO Your idea was fine and valid. Many corps do exactly as you mentioned. Poor cancel culture trolls have no wisdom of their own. They have only been taught to tear down any other ideas. Feel sad for them as tgey will never have the satisfaction of valid useable ideas. Let alone anything groundbreaking.
@@borysnijinski331 it’s called advertising, very novel concept I know.
@@QSSCEO if you are lucky, a mere 1% of their viewers have means to buy one of these boats.
Great boat tours!!
Great job you two!!!!
Good Design!😍nice vid👍🏻
THESE GIRLS GOT ME MORE CONFUSED THAT I WAS BEFORE
THANK YOUUU 😝👍🏻
Girls? 1950 calling.
So there's two of yall congrats to you both
You twins have a great lovely parent and a great family. Great show.. I love your show so much.. Great job.
Very beautiful boat! Theyre both dream vessels, should do an interview with Stanzfam on this subject, he runs a cat currently but has run both. Would be a cool collab & could make an awesome fishing trip out of it as well!
Nice video 👍
Hey I was there on Thursday and walked on that same boat! So nice!
You can tell you girls really enjoy what you do and so glad you keep yourselves classy
Nice job w comparing the two. Was wondering if a Seakeeper was ever installed on a Cat. Def prefer mono hull for the depth (below deck) in the centre of the hull. The new design mono hull centre consoles are awesome for living space / heads secure rod and tackle storage ...but I do love all the fish fighting cockpit / side and bow area of a Cat!
Cats appear to make a better case for when you *need* to fish for a day and will put up with whatever conditions you have to, without needing luxuries like a Sea Keeper. From an engineering perspective, and from what I've read about sailboat yachting in deep water, I can see why many are huge advocates of these fishing cats. Mostly the stability, and the lateral room for vigorous fishing. They definitely make a real strong case for party boats, with pretty good extended trip functionality, if you check out some of the Aquila yachts. A lot of the people into actual sailing are big cat fans too. No keel to drag you under.
It didn't escape my notice, though, that you touched on extended trips in a smaller vessel in the *monohull* walk through. As evidenced by the head which could almost be a cabin, a monohull gives you space without the need to build up superstructure. A smaller boat can be more versatile with a monohull. Better for multi-purpose boating.
I also read that docking costs can be higher when you get into cat yachts. Then there are large ocean going vessels meant to withstand severe conditions, like military and cruise industry ships. In theory, an aircraft carrier would be more efficient in many of the aircraft respects as a giant cat, but this hasn't been done on a large scale. Ditto cruise ships. So, again, the more compact yet spacious design is predominant, I think, for a number of engineering related issues in uniting 2 truly large hulls.
Great work as always. Very informative.
Yes, invincible needs to hook up the gale force twins. They put a lot of time into very very informative on their videos and it’s much appreciated
Perfect video!
Wow, those boats are just 🤯🔥
Thanks for taking us along ... how was the cuisine ?
Can't wait to see which model you GalGales get, I vote Cat.
Great info ...
Perfect video. Good day for all of us. Good luck. hard work pays off. my best wishes. Harika balıklar emeğinize sağlık kim tutar sizi...
I enjoy the videos comparing mono hulls and catamarans and I see a lot of videos of sea trials in the bay with a bit of a chop. But are there any charter captains in south Florida running cats where I can fish with them for a day off shore to get a true feel for the boat in use?
I'm in love 😍
Oh, and I'm biased towards multihulls 😁😉
I fish with my Brother John. We usually only need a fish box the size a a kids school lunch box. "sigh" Great video ladies!
It would be nice to see a comparison of comparable length and power for fuel efficiency, performance, fishability and comfort in the water - maybe the next video?
Yes! Sounds like we need to do some sea trials 🌊
So nice presentation thumb up
I missed out on meeting y'all! I was there.
Amazing from Spain
In the 40' and under open fishing type boats one of the biggest _drawbacks_ to a catamaran is the lack of any sort of interior cabin. Unless you go with a completely custom console area anyway. With the monohull you can extend forward from the console and have a usable cabin area under the lounge seat. That said I'd prefer a catamaran of almost any size, from a TwinVee 24 to a Freeman 47.
Nice review!! Ou girls are doing great with your videos Let’s for for a million subs!!
“Girls”? You from 1950?
Thank you GFT
This was the first time I’ve ever seen the the “head” headroom on a cat! What a difference😮 ! Too bad the head isn’t worked into one of the hulls in a way that doesn’t inhibit walk-a-round🤔
Gale Force Invincible has a nice ring to it.
Hey girls that was an excellent video the only thing is you didn’t give us the prices of each boat or are you not allowed to but love your videos you’re doing great 👍
Very few of the fishing type boat reviews give pricing unfortunately, and the Invincible website doesn't have a "build-a-boat" feature even with MSRP's. Going by other builders though the monohull is going to be over $750k and the cat a little over $1M
That Fish holder is big enough to Tony Soprano a Body 🖤👌😂
Dexter too...
That's definitely a drug smugglers box.
I miss the old music but I still love the videos
We loved it too but ran into some copyright issues 🙃 even though we owned it....the internet is something else
@@GaleForceTwins I have to admit I get jealous that you get to fish all the time.
Very beautyfull boat❤💪
Gale.. bagus konten nya 👍
Salam dari 🇮🇩
Love catamarans for diving!
Could you show the types of trailers these boats sit on? Super random I know, but I’m always curious if boats this long are bumper pulls or 5th wheel. Fun boat tour!
The monohull bumper pull, the cat gooseneck.
Boats this size...5th wheel only.
Looking forward great 👍 boat 🚣
Ladies, you are amazing in the details of the interior of the boat! Some constructive criticism; Please start with the Motors, HP, Fuel Economy, and end with a overall description of the boat.
You get different kinds of motors, that’s negligible
Nice Cat!
Both of these boats are dream rides in I were fishing your warm blue waters..!
My fiance and I are going to be moving to the Seattle area in June so we are thinking about getting a boat. So we have been watching a few video's about a good affordable boat to buy. So minutes later you upload this video about two very nice but expensive Invincibles. Quick edit here, I posted this because Dan my fiance gave me the look of "can we have one?"
Ha. Definitely not affordable... but being in the Seattle area, there is a good selection of used boats for a fraction of the price of a new boat and usually already rigged our with electronics and addons
@@stingray4540 we plan on looking into getting a used boat but not discounting a smaller new one.
What sort of boating are you two interested in? If it's cruising you might want to look at the Ranger tugs lineup, for fishing Cutwater makes some nice looking boats. Another option would be an Aspen catamaran. All of them are (relatively) affordable and as long as you stay under 40' they're all trailerable as well. Oh, _AND_ they're all built in the Pacific North-West!
@@michiganengineer8621 Dan wants more of a fishing boat which I am ok with but I also want something we can swim or ski from.
Pacific North West is the absolute opposite type of climate compared to Florida. Most of PNW boat market is large aluminum boats. Hewescraft, North River etc. Most of these boats have some sort of enclosure. The large aluminum boats have been the go to on the west coast the past years. Center console would be a cold day on a boat except for the warmest days.
I thing on the outboards the outside 2 of 4 or 5 engines back there should b tight to stern & the middle engines should push back a ft or so, less scrubby bubbles fighting.
And these boats are just one lottery win away but it would be tough to choose advantages to both designs
Nice, but I wish there was some discussion about price ranges.
How could I get or earn or buy a gale force twins souvenir? Greetings caps !
Yes!!!
Omg this is my dream boat from now on but I'm only 12 years but I like fishing and boating
The mono hull is my favorite
Out of this world beautiful dream boats, but way more $ than my house😜. Thanks anyway, guys!
What about if we compare gas consumption, speed, comfort and handling? 😃
I preffer the one with the hig ceiling bathroom. 😎
What's going to give you a better ride when the water starts getting really rough
cost 1 hull vs the other?
I’d like to see you two fishing the waters where YBS , Youngblood is in Australia !
can you do the pursuit s428. I have a sales guy that will let you
“Invincible Ladies” 👍👍👍
Dumb question, but what is a tuna tube?
I love the Cat! Definitely not cheap! 😝
beautiful boat girl's 👍👍
What about the Tuna Tubes...you left us hanging?
👋I'll be your boat buddy😁
do a sand bar trip
The invincible 46 cat is awesome but the 33 iCat is all I would need
SAME 😊
420 Outrage for the win. Wouldn't you like some cabin space?
@@romewasnotbuiltinaday nope
love these girls
They both look cool.
I could never choose between one or the other.
u guys are so cute ong
What is a tuna tube for lol
9:05 that holder for the coil hose looks good 👍
2:58 Does the FWC know about that?
Two is always better then one :)
Than...better than one. English is your first language (and likely your only language) learn it. Do not tell me English is not your first language bec those who learn English as second (or third etc) do not make this mistake.
hve not seen a kite fish video yet but atleast I get to go fly a kite even if not biting even w/edit video.
Invincible has a kite fishing video actually. Do a search it’s pretty good
The cats also faster and burns less fuel at the same speed as the mono
Which one did you buy it girls ?
I don't get it🤔 .. both 40 footers and neither have any facilities to anchor up and camp overnight in a nice comfortable bed, but ship loads of storage for lots of fish, didn't see any bait stations?
If I was in the market for a boat like one of those I’d have to go monohull so I can have a head I can stand in. I’m to old and creaky for the catamaran style.
Some have platinum or black cards mine is wood
Not sure that'll cut it at the dealers 😂
The biggest difference not mentioned is the ride in rough water. Cats eat up rough water when monohulls may beat you to death. Cats are more efficient, too.
You did not mention the biggest difference between monohull and catamaran, the ride. One has a much smoother ride than the other one.
My tall and fat ass requires a full size restroom... so mono-hull it is 😂
Whats next? The difference between water and land!?
15:34 🎶🎵🎶 🤣👍
And how much does each cost as furnished? I need 3 life times to afford either one. Probably starting at $500,000 simolians that's dollars.
Higher 750k+ close to a million for the cat
@@muddpuppy07 Just for an open console no thanks. I can get a boat with a closed interior with a big deck and walk to front bow with efficient diesel inboards, kitchen, bedrooms, heat/Ac, heads for less.
@@opaman7518 I agree I would rather have a sport fish for that cost. Either style you wouldn't be hauling around on a trailer.
@@muddpuppy07 I think both center console styles are wider than 8ft 6inches so therefore need to pay extra for trailering behind vehicles on the road.
Dang your girls are freaking bombshell not just that but Ms. Knowing All.....👌👏
Yeah the cat you get the smoother ride and faster speed, but you give up a place to sleep and air conditioning. Which you need in the Bahamas and Pulley Ridge.
That's the biggest drawback to center console cats
Chances are if you're buying a 40'+ center console cat, you are already planning on being in a resort and leaving the boat at the marina at night anyway. There are few die-hard fishers in that income bracket that absolutely have to be sleeping out on the water.
@@cup_and_cone No resort at Pulley Ridge. Cat cay has very few houses to rent.
tuna tubes??
Still - hardest working twins in the USA.
