- On this late summer evening ride, we start near Zug, Switzerland to scale the Rooter Berg located between Zug and Lucerne. After we pass through Zug downtown and outskirts, as well as the towns of Cham and Rotkreuz along gentle rolling hills, we reach Root at the base of the mountain. From here it gets a lot steeper, towards the summit also known as Michaelskreuz. On this narrow mountain road, we ride past lush grass pastures, typical Swiss farms and get rewarded with occasional peeks down into the Reuss valley below. Once we reach the top, we get to enjoy a descent towards Kuessnacht am Rigi, with wonderful views of the high alpine mountains in the distance and the Mountain Rigi close-by. After a short climb from Kuessnacht to Immensee, we join the Zugerlake and follows its shores counter-clockwise on quite flat roads until we get back to our starting location, the village of Oberwil bei Zug.
