Got a Novarossi Plus 12-3CT Serpent .12 engine… Fits well onto my Mugen Seiki MTX-2 Chassis, cleaning out my engine and it will be running rich and loud, that engine will be too…
@ those engines? They aren’t there anymore due to them because rare but at least I can take care of them, I got 2 new parts like the front differential from GPM and a monoblock that looked small but fitted onto my own engine that is also from GPM…
Just want to take the time and say thank you for doing a video like that cuz I am getting into the rebuild thing and when you replace piston and sleeve would you treat it as a new engine and break it in that way
I don't know if you have ever tried a "Buku" clutch/flywheel with Bonded Komposite clutch shoes or even their adjustable exhaust pipes. All I'm saying is that they make some really nice accessories that add allot of adjustable power, weather you want torque or top speed. I bought the clutch with "Bonded Komposite clutch shoes" and I must say, It really did pay for itself. The shoes last a very long time (for me one set lasted 3 racing seasons and still going!) if you adjust them correctly to your driving style. They are 110% better over any plastic or aluminum clutch shoes on the market. If you ever get the chance, check them out and do a review. Also I bought a complete old O.S.18TM for $60usd shipped, removed the 11K carb and then cleaned and sold the rest of the engine for the same price. I got the O.S.11K Carb for free and I couldn't agree more! It seriously is one of the best upgrades you can do to a Traxxas 2.5R or 3.3!
Those clutches are not even available here without big$$ as far as the 11k carb assignment on the Traxxas engines since that's what's available here. The os 21tm is like 500$
@@PaulSingh-dz1sn looks like your going to have to for now. Until they come back in stock. Ever since I made that video about them they sold out like crazy lol sometimes you can find the old non senior flywheels from Traxxas. However I did find a Robson racing flywheel RRP8052 is the part number. Hopefully that helps
Nope probably wasn't tuned for the fuel and ran to lean or the engine was already very warn and it was a matter of time. You gotta replace the bearings pin and rod around The gallon mark. And do a bit of a different break in process to put less stress on the engine. The Traxxas break in is very hard on the engine.
@@ggwoods5684 run a quality fuel no more than 12% oil OS LC3 glow plug. Preheat the engine with a heat gun to expand the sleeve away from the piston witch puts less stress on the piston pin bores and other moving parts. I do 4 tanks at idle before I start driving basically the same as the Adam drake method for breaking in a nitro engine. However I pull my engines apart if it's new and pre lubrication the connecting rod crank and bearings and a little on the piston as most engines are completely dry inside. Then start my break in. But that might be a little much for you. Just go with the Adam drake break in procedure
@@ggwoods5684 the Adam drake break in is on RUclips. And all these engines are shipped dry. Klotz super techniplate oil is designed for nitro engines. Be sure you feel comfortable with what you're doing and note direction of all parts very important! Because if you put it together wrong or the piston in backwards it will never run. I live in Canada where these engines cost almost 400$ so we take every step we can to make them last as long as possible.
