a-rod, and i mean this with no disrespect to anyone in saosin, is one of the only drummers who stands head and shoulders musically above everyone else everything single time they play. some bands have that wild guitarist, or a crazy vocalist who can make you go wow, but a-rod consistently makes me question i even attempt to be drummer even after 20+ years

I come back to this video every once in a while. I miss the energy of shows, especially these intros! You can really feel the energy when the drums start playing, everyone starts moving a little bit more, people get super amped! Can't fucking wait to bawl my eyes out at my first show in a solid year and a half.
all my friends made the transition to main stream shit like rap and all this techno shit (not bashing it, just not my taste) as we got older. I still always listened to them and several similar bands for my workout music lol 24 here too

sitting in Norway and can't wait to see this band live. Hope they come over the dam soon. Was allways mad that i never got to see the original Saosin band live. BUT NOW YOU ARE TOGETHER AGAIN
I'll repost my response to Stephen Rodriguez asking why they kicked me out for those who don't want to go digging around in the comments: They lied and told me that Saosin's tour manager told them to take my camera. Then even as I was putting my camera away, a security guard tried to steal it from me several times. I mean he was literally putting his hands on me and trying to prevent me from putting it in the case and reaching for it. He said that if I didn't give it to him then they would kick me out. So I picked up my things and left. After the show, I spoke to a member of the band and he was appalled and upset about what I told him and said that they have never had a problem with cameras or videos in their career and have never done anything like what the security guard said they did.
+Hermie McCockpunch Not only that, the band member told me that Saosin had numerous problems with the security themselves throughout the day, something I've heard from numerous other artists that have played there. I haven't even had any issues with my camera at that venue despite that one show, and I know it wasn't Saosin that had an issue with it, so I'm thinking the security guard was just trying to get a free camera thinking I'd value half of the concert more than my $450 camera.
+TheRealConcertKing Was he trying to steal your camera? Or was he simply trying to confiscate it? I would have asked for his name and where I could pick my camera back up after the show because I doubt he was thinking "free camera".
Derek Dellinger He was trying to take it from me even after I had put it away, which was not their policy, so as far as I'm concerned he was trying to steal it. In the moment I was so upset that I didn't even think to ask for his name but I wish I had. They allowed it in the venue, I didn't sneak it in. Many other people were shooting video, it was not just me. So the only thing that makes any sense was that he saw an opportunity to try to get a free camera and tried to take mine. Only one time has venue security EVER made me give up my camera, and that was during the period at HOB when they were extremely anti-camera, and even then they didn't just forcibly take it from me, they sent me to a desk to check it in. This man forcibly tried to pry it from my hands, even after I put it away and said I wouldn't use it again.
The drums have a perfect sound. Anthony's voice live and overall performance has improved greatly from back when I saw Circa in 2006. I think back then he was going through some issues and has overcome them to be the best that he can be.
This is CRAZY! I remember listening to this song back in 2005 as a freshman in high school. Hell I even had the emo bang like the guitarist in the original music video :) Crazy times those were.
Fucking epic amazing, this band makes me feel so alive, literally the bast band this earth has ever walked. I really hope they are gonna release a new album.
If it's OK to watch and use your mind to remember the show, then it's OK to record that event for personal use. This isn't 1976, people aren't making tons of money off of bootlegs anymore. Everybody has a camera...several, in fact. Any venue or band still enforcing this old-school rule has got their head up their ass. That being said, thanks for filming what you did, looks like it was a great show!

Weird that they would boot you. I film shows on the east coast, and the only venue I'm kind of iffy on is The Electric Factory, and for no actual reason. I just remember going to see RX Bandits and they had a "No Cameras" sign, so I played it safe and put it back in my car. Although I had no problem filming Coheed two nights in a row on the front row barricade... and I filmed RX later at Union Transfer. Venues can be touchy sometimes. I know a lot of the Live Nation security guards (at least in my venue) aren't really a fan of people filming, so sometimes they might do it out of personal preference but mask it as a "venue or show policy," which is in no way fair or justifiable. At the same time, a lot of venues do have "no cameras or filming" policies stated, but security tends to ignore it and let it go since everybody has smart phones with okay cameras, and point and shoot ones don't generally get in the way. I guess "rare" and "reunion" shows can have different types of rules sometimes, but they're usually artist enforced. I caught Neutral Milk Hotel and they wouldn't even let people take photos on their phones (artist enforced I think)... but on the same hand, I had no problem filming The Sound of Animals Fighting set at the Trocadero. There are tons of videos from The Observatory online too, even from Thrice's last show. I don't get it.
I've filmed plenty of shows at The Observatory without issue. I have no idea what happened this night but it was completely unacceptable, especially trying to steal my property.
TheRealConcertKing Yeah, that definitely crosses the line. Asking you to put your camera away is one thing. Ejecting you is another... but trying to confiscate your property? Come on... Absolutely unacceptable.
***** Bands never care. Venues rarely care anymore, even though a lot of them state that it's against the rules they don't usually enforce it. They never said anything at any of the other 5 or so shows I've been to there. But regardless of their policies about allowing video, attempting to steal someone's property from their hands is not acceptable. They could have told me to stop recording and I would have just put my camera away, but they tried to steal my camera and then tried to threaten to kick me out if I didn't give it to them thinking that I'd value the concert over the camera I paid $450 for.
What the fuck he sound like 10 times better live than in the studio... I'm really suprised by this performance because i dont like the sound of anthony in the new songs
yeah and to be fair if you've never seen him live, video recordings don't do his voice the justice it deserves. Seeing him live in concert for the past couple years has been the best experiences of my life. After watching interviews on his thoughts on fans recording concerts on their phones, the last circa concert I went to I didn't touch my phone for the whole show and I really lost myself in the music. +Dylan Heilman Anthony quit Saosin. I'm pretty sure I read an interview somewhere, that he actually quit them over his own drug use and that the band environment didn't seem to be healthy at the time.
