  • Went down to sumner nation forest this weekend to go do some offloading and camping with my brother and his friends. It was a good time had a few sketchy moments the first time trying to back down the hill climb to the summit campsite super late the first night. I didn't have enough torque, gearing or travel to get to that campsite, but ill come back and make it happen.
    Thanks for watching hope you enjoy!

    👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 looks like a lot fun. Hella jealous. Can’t find a manual crv anywhere. Where is this Charlie’s creek at? City and state?

    There’s actually a 250$ cheapie supercharger called the ar500. It’s not very well built but with a small pulley and an oil cooler it’d give a v a lot of low end torque I’d think. NOBODY USES THEM so good luck on finding a vid but I’m gonna give it a shot for just low end power. For 250$ you can’t go wrong.

    Hey whats up. I have a question 4 ya. Your ap1 s2000 steering wheel, is the airbag connected or functional? If not connected are you getting a SRS light on?

    • @beefybuilt488
      @beefybuilt488  3 года назад

      Srs plugs right in, cruise has to be wired in though. 👍

    You're losing a ton of torque because of those massive tires. Also, momentum is your friend. My 99 CRV has made it up stuff WAY steeper than that little hill, and it's an auto. You should probably be starting in 2nd at the bottom to get a run at it and shifting a bit sooner before you bog down, so you don't lose momentum, and then floor it in first to get up the rest of the way. Definitely the tires are hindering you, though. Looks like you guys had a ton of fun though, and that's what CR-V's are for! :D

      Theres no way i could have come through that bottom section in second. I typically shift into second at 4000ish rpm which is 24mph haha yeah big tires cause you to loose gearing and theyre heavy so you have more rotating mass to get moving. It is what it is ill get gears and boost eventually.

    Where were you camping the night before? Where is “the mountain” you were referring too?

    • @beefybuilt488
      @beefybuilt488  3 года назад +1

      Chestnut mountain if I remember correctly. I wasnt really sure the name of it. My brother just sent me coordinates and said meet me here. I took the easy way(couldn't make it), he took the hard way.

    Hey there how did you do your 6” lift. Spacers or different vehicle suspension? Please let me know

    • @beefybuilt488
      @beefybuilt488  3 года назад +3

      Spacers, i have a video covering the whole build

    How do you deal with the longer gearing you get from the tires? I feel like the 3.5 first is hardly enough and I'm only slightly larger than stock tires. Any plans to go lsd up front and pin the rear?

    • @beefybuilt488
      @beefybuilt488  4 года назад +1

      It does fine for the most part. No issues on the roads daily but when offroading in really steep mountains i run out of torque and gearing as you can see in the video when i try to get to the second campsites summit. It will get an lsd eventually.i wanna find an gear manufacturer to build a 1st and second gear before trying to get m factory to make another 20 lsds.

      As for the rear i have a spare diff to plate up and a viscous sitting under my tool box. I just need to get the driveshafts made

      @@beefybuilt488 I live in a really hilly part of CT and the lack of power is really apparent after the 5 speed conversion. I'm very interested in a custom 1-2 set as well. Or maybe a 5.1 final with a long fifth. Im on the ome lift with grabber at2s and I'm shocked at how capable the car is. I'm thinking about running a very small turbo like a gt2554r for some more low end power. I imagine it would start helping at around 2k even if it chokes above 5. The jrsc kit is hard to find otherwise that would be my first choice. Keep it up I love your build so much.

    Just wondering. I'm pretty sure I know, but is it a 4X4?

      No, its rt4wd i have clutches in my rear diff that engage when the front spins.
