Tutors, do you feel good about your prices or would you like to charge more (or less)? Tell me in the comments. There are ways to raise your rates, and there are ways to charge less without making less money. What?!! It's true. I've done it and actually made a lot more money (while charging my students MUCH less). So, let's talk about pricing!!!
A lot of people have a hard time asking for what they are worth. Dan Kennedy says to say the highest price you can say without laughing. I literally had a friend practicing saying a higher price than they were comfortable with in the mirror the other day. Left him there and told him not to leave until he could do it.
Kelly, your words are always EXACTLY what I need to hear! Thank you!! We are so used to being underpaid and we need to work on that mindset. We are professionals who deserve to make what we're worth!!
💯 Thank you for this comment! I still struggle with money blocks and probably always will. Esspecially when hearing other tutors say things like, "Wow! You charge that much!". Yup, and I deliver 10x that much value! It's all about the value.
Without giving real numbers for a variety of reasons (including maybe legal ones), I offer a discount with a package. It’s something like this (these are CERTAINLY not real numbers!!!): - I charge $1000 USD per half hour. However, if you buy a package of 10 half-hour lessons, it’s only $750 USD. 10 x $750 = $7500 total - I found a sweet spot by trial and error between “Whoa! Too high! I can’t afford it” and “What a cheap price! Sign me up now!” I kept ratcheting up the price until people started saying No a lot and then I backed off. I hope this helps someone.
May I ask a question? Who are you talking to? We the viewers do not feel as if you are speaking to us as you are not looking into the lens of the camera.

Thanks for sharing this! It's a great strategy and I can see how it would work very well.

Thanks for the tip. I use Zoom and I have a pretty low-tech setup for now. I'll do a better job of looking at the camera in the next video.
