Same, I caught two kings the weekend of Sept 14-15 but the ensuing heat wave a few days later shut everything down. Looks like the harbors are picking up the past few days however
Thanks for sharing. Its picked up for sure. I caught one today at Monroe harbor. There was probably a recent run of new kings. They should all be in the harbors by next week is my guess. Keep casting!
I started Sept 1 and finally got one yesterday after 11 trips to the lake. On a J-13 Rapala (bright orange / yellow ). Still pretty silver. These videos help so much.
Thanks for sharing. There were some bites and I got 1 king salmon a day after the rain this week. I guess the rain helped. What I can see now a lot fishes jumping but no bites. Definitely the weather will cool down soon and hope we get some action ! Tight lines !
This spot is where I caught my first coho last year! I got a 18lb king last week up north a few miles from here. My only problem with this spot is how long of a net you need. That drop is over 10ft !
I’ve been out to Kenosha, Racine and Waukegan both night and day at least 12 times. Very frustrating season with no salmon or trout to show for it. Last night we were at Kenosha. There was fish rolling and jumping but no takers. I got bored and with a pinkie jig I caught some nice rock bass… sad
Oops. No we didn’t get anything that day in the boat but had a nice time out. I’ve caught some nice ones since then. A 8 1/2 pound coho on a hot n tot north of Waukegan a couple kings same place One on a little 1:35 Cleo and one on a hot n tot. Then three nights ago a got three nights ago I did an all nighter and got three kings on a fire tiger stick bait!
@Lafoo_ I fish the harbor on the Illinois Wisconsin border. And no nothing seen yet. Fish report Saturday morning says the pike river in Kenosha is starting g to get some action
It was getting started 3 weeks ago and then it got warm. I landed a small one today so it is picking up again. The fish are there. They will get active for half an hour and then they shut off all day. Just get out as much as possible before its over.
Dt 10 by and J13 by rapala. Thunderstick, and Flying C are my go to lures. The fish are there. Just need to be there whey they decide to bite. You need to put in the hours and a little bit of luck.
@Jesus312Fishing Nice job buddy as usual. Never hooked up with a king before but I do plan too this season. Have to study one of the best at 1st thats the main reason I'm here lol. Thanks for all your hard work man. There's alot that has to be put into these videos. So keep at it bro🎣
I just got back from Michigan. I fished the Patte river, Leland Harbor and Travers City. A lot of visible fish in the rivers however no bites. I was nice to see them.
DuSable Harbor you can park right under lake shore drive, i hate when other fisherman say "its my spot" "its a secret" always hated this type of behavior from other anglers.
It’s actually DuSable Harbor off lakeshore drive, although I fish the 63rth st. Hayse drive, I fished there over 20 times this year and still have unfortunately not caught anything, makes me sad and almost depressing, but this guy gives me hope. I use lure on one rod, while I have my second set up with a drop weight and 5 foot lead off the bobber, shrimp , no luck ever, not even a bite, I’m going later today also and I pray this season is successful, good luck to also.
The fishing was good the second week of September. Afterwards the fish didn't like the warm 72-degree water. The fish are starting to bite now. I recommend trying different times of the day. It takes a lot of time and days to catch a fish. Switch up lures for different water depts. Keep it up!
Jesus, thanks for giving us these videos. Always look forward for these, especially the kings.
@@nandog6946 Awsome! Thanks!
Can't believe this dude. Nobody catches fish but this guy. Unreal
Lol. It looks easy on video. It has been a slow season this year.
That dude at the end wanted your autograph!! Good stuff bro!

@@robertfrance7320 I feel your pain. It's a slow bite this years. The salmon dint like the warm waters. Just got to keep trying.
The rock bass cooked with onions and eggs topped with cheese and salsa made for some good burritos!
nice
Thanks
I watched the video again I heard some dude in the background you are fishing 123 lol
Thats right. LOL. He got caught up in the moment. He walked up on me while I was landing the fish. It's all good.
I been meaning to make a youtube videos about Illinois fishing we should link up next Saturday and catch some fish

@@Jesus312Fishing hey thanks man I was out there this afternoon unfortunately got skunked tho
Question on the setup. why do you use a 4000 size reel? And do you need a 9ft plus rod?. Newbie salmon fisherman thanks.
I can cast further with this setup. It makes a difference when the fish are further away.

Montrose

Any spot recommendations?
Mostly any harbor has salmon right now. The most popular ones are Montrose, Belmont, Diversey, Burnham, 31st and 63rd st harbor.
Great catch “fishing 1-2-3!!!” It’s as easy as that. 3 casts. 1-2-3-boom. Ha. Nice hit and drag peel on that one.
@@michaelmccormick1016 Well said. Hearing the drag peel and feeling that first hit always gets the adrenalin pumping.
On your next video can you tell us the difference between a king salmon and the rest
Good Idea. Thanks
Whats the best way to eat these ?
Smoke
How long are they in the harbors?
End of October.
