I'm torn! I mean, I started reading in the 2-thousand-somethings, so to me White Phoenix of the Crown will always be her ultimate evolution. That said, Jean's color is green. Granted, lots of X-Gals look good in green, it's not Jean's only, but it is her banner color--and she looks so good in it, as a redhead! This book does a pretty good job of making the classic phoenix lewk actually look like an X uniform. Maybe best of both? She tends to bust out the white outfit when she needs to show down and throw down in the finales of arcs, but not like her main uniform?
@@burton7838 Basically she is THE WHITE PHOENIX because she's being established as ALWAYS BEEN AND FOREVER IS PHOENIX so technically thats it. Besides, Jean in the White and Gold means in the WHR basically not in the mortal realm like now. I'm thinking we need her here being 1000% That Bytch doing That Bytch type of moves like she's doing.
Now this is a great start. Actually makes me excited to see what’s coming next. It’s a retelling of a familiar story. It still seems fresh. Looking forward to seeing her character development.. artwork is like chef’s kiss as well.
My first comic was X-men 101 and Jean was my first favorite. Storm is my 2nd. I love this comic and what they're doing with Jean/Phoenix. My only concern is if they decide to bring her back to earth - she is going to be so powerful for "normal" villains and I'm afraid they are going to retcon or de-phoenix her again.
Jean's version, or the OG version of Phoenix, was never with the Rachel Summers firehair and all fire like in this issue AND IM ALL THE WAY HERE FOR IT. JEAN LOOKS GOOD!!
I agree. Since she governs life and death she could technically rob every being of ever have been alive and give new life to the beings she wants to be alive or just be alone in the multiverse 😂
Amazing read. I couldn't stop holding my breath. Really well represented and what powers Jeans wields as the Phoenix (as someone who isn't fully familiar with all the Phoenix feats, that was a good show on what she can do). I just hope that Storm's solo will carry the same weight as Jean solo.
I've loved the new beginnings. I was going to try all of them. But this one was really good. If anything I love the new two so much so far I should try all of them. But sadly money. But this was great. I wasn't going to continue but they won me over. Digging it bigtime. PLEASE ignore haters bs. You got real fans who appreciate what you do. Lastly the X-cards you've been adding are nothing short of phenomenal. Love it dude. I have re-read X-men like 4 times....should tell ya something.
Way too true about fans being the biggest haters. It's so exhausting but I love how each title right now feels like it's focusing on some classic X-Men trope. Exceptional will be the teaching of new mutants, adjetiveless will be finding those in need, Uncanny looks like it's going with the weird, Phoenix is doing the cosmic stuff, etc. I just want them written well and in the spirit of the characters
Love Jean and the Phoenix being on their cosmic level ishh &you were talking about a ton of interesting concepts however Stephanie Phillips isn't a talented enough writer to pull of 70% of the things that you mentioned. She's not nearly as terrible as Tini Howard or whomever wrote that Hawkgirl series but Phillips can't really pull off cosmic adventure. The background of Perrikus &the girl narrating the story could be great issues &same with a Jean &Scott date night but outside of that I fear for what is going to take place in this Phoenix series

In a recent issue we learned when Franklin goes to bed at night he is using his godlike power to watch over and make very minute corrections to this universe to keep it from collapsing/invasions. He is learning that making drastic changes or exerting too much of his powers has disastrous consequences hence only making minor adjustments here and there to avoid incursions and such. Its funny. You talk about people complaining that it isn't like Powers of X/House of X Hickman beginning of Krakoa Era. I am the opposite. I disliked Powers of X/House of X and thought the Krakoa era got better without him, though still wasn't a fan of the Krakoa Era. I am looking forward to all the stories post Krakoa. @@bash5679 Well check marvel database and it reads…’The Phoenix Force is one of the oldest known cosmic entities’ so your right about it being a FORCE and Im right about it being a COSMIC ENTITY 😁
the costume should be the original which was beautiful to me, this isn't jean an earth woman flying around in space saving ppl? and she's too powerful one can't identify with a god if she can do anything, there are no stakes the mutant reboot is disappointing so far
Comic publishers often continually make their characters more powerful. Sadly, this tends to make their heroes and villains less interesting to me. With so many cosmic/reality warping X-men, I find myself checking out.
Jean's gone cosmic road tripping on a Phoenix SilverSurfer like redemption arc
I love this so much Jean deserves her Phoenix back
Once an Always, Jean Grey is the Phoenix and the Phoenix is Jean Grey
This is starting off as some interesting X-Men storytelling.
Jean out there in them cosmic streetz! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly. She is and will always be the PHOENIX 🐦🔥
This is how you evolve the X-Men. Keep Jean in space. Not that wack back to basics Canadian X-Men.
Glad to have the Phoenix back where it belongs, with Mutants. We need Jean back in white now.

Do you think that Jean should have stayed dead after she died in The Dark Phoenix Saga?

Alessandro out here tracing other ppl's work and putting it in this book
Olivier Coipel’s work to be specific
I’m still skeptical but will see
The first issue feels a lot like Tom Kings Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and I’m totally down
I would like to see your rankings of all the #1 once they have all been released.
I honestly prefer dark phoenix who just wrecked everything and was totally out of control/ manic for dramatic effect 😂
