Crazy how you showed up on my recommended videos, I've been on a BPD video binge after a recent episode. Subscribing and ready to hear more of your journey ❤
It has majorly been self-destructive and impulsive. Due to past experiences, my BPD symptoms show up mostly within the context of romantic relationships or any dating because that's where the previous trauma lies. Even the self-destructive and impulsive aspects show up within these relationship areas! It is quite odd for me to wrap my head around because none of this typically appears in friendships or professional relationships! Still just dealing with that!
This is an important point you bring up! I have read some papers on the overlapping symptoms and it does seem like a possible cause in some cases. However, I've not considered it so or it hasn't come up within the diagnosis because I've not met any symptoms or causes of autism, especially in terms of communication or social interactions. For me, BPD shows up in romantic relationships with major splitting and an identity disturbance caused by how I tend to interact with the relationship. However, being aware that diagnostic manuals are also problematic, if there is a unique testing scale created to gauge this, I'd be happy to explore and check. For now, my symptoms are mainly in line with BPD characteristics, and it has made sense to engage with therapies that tackle that! Hope this makes sense :)
@@bpdgirlie i tried pasting links to articles, but they were deleted by the algorythm. Women with autism mask and perform well socially. They often have moodswings and trauma. Theres overlap in the bpd and autism symptoms, but the solutions can be different. Business insider has a good article on it (called autistic women are often misdiagnosed with bpd) and the site Embrace autism too (article called its not bpd its autism). I hope you consider looking it up. My health and future got so much better when I got the right help, I wish the same for you
Ugh my answer keeps getting deleted. Women with autism are often misdiagnosed with bpd bc they perform so well socially and mask heavily. They often have moodswings and trauma. But there are different things that help when its autism. I hope you consider looking it up
You have such a soothing voice ❤
This just brought up a lot of memories from my termination session with my therapist two years ago 😮
Awwww! I can imagine. I think I am going back to thinking about it for time to come.

Question, what type of BPD are you recovering from?

Have you considered if it could be autism (female fenotype)? Often misdiagnosed as BPD
