This was the first song I heard from her. Never heard of her. 5 seconds into song and just couldn’t believe the voice. His pretty much the reaction of all first -time listeners. Total shock and joy, and she doesn’t even break a sweat. This is great robot test. Play five seconds thief stop. If you’re human you won’t be able to breathe. Not exaggeration.
That is why this is my favorite Angelina cover. That deep vibrato just runs down your spine. She has the ability to sing straight to your soul. She makes you feel the story.

When you ask how she can sing so convincingly about adult themes that she hasn’t yet experienced? Just get used to this-she is the best interpreter of lyrics you’ve ever heard. Couple that with her magical voice and the result is the best singer I’ve ever heard. Period.

My theory is that she learned music so early that emotions have sounds for her. At one and a half she was listening to jazz greats as well as modern voices. For her the idea of sadness has a particular resonance/timbre.

The jawdropping moment for me was when I compared it head on to the original. Before that I was so naive to think "yeah, masterful 1:1 copy". But she mactually made Lana sound flat in comparison.

Great reaction. Angelina's magic is her ability to capture the emotion and intent of any song she sings and express that emotion better than most adult artists out there. I believe she is 12 in this one. After a while you will get numb to her age and be able to just enjoy the gorgeous mature sound. She is a true artist that can change her tone and voice to fit the song instead of changing the song to fit her voice.

So I'm sure her Uncle Michael and her mom, who were born and grew up in Japan and who often speak Japanese to each other, passed on a little of the language to Angelina (and helped greatly with her Japanese songs she sang). 👍

Your reaction is so much like the rest of us and you have not even touched the surface. She taps into these “adult” feelings as a child by “channeling” the writers original intent when they wrote the music and then she (as another reactor says) spreads “Angel Dust” on it to make it her own. She is one if not the only singer that can adapt her voice to whatever song that she sings. The God given gift as well as the years of covering g a multitude of styles, genres and vocal techniques has taught her how to hear every nuance possible so far and replicate all of the techniques that she has heard, practiced and perfected thru the years. That is how she started...listening to jazz greats and learning to sing the way that they sang before she even went to elementary school. He catalogue of techniques is enormous and her voice while still developing can deliver like no other.
She also has the unique ability to be able to reach right thru you and touch your heart and soul. I cannot tell you how many people just listen to Angelina daily for their “fix”. She always leaves you in such a better place than when you started....a good place..peaceful..calm..positive..
She has a couple songs that you might enjoy right off that are considered “Masterpieces”. It actually had to be by channeling because she could not have been more than 10 or 11 possibly and the level of our and deep emotion is astounding. It is simply phenomenol..for an adult singer, a child singer......no words

As others have already mentioned it's NOT an original (unless you're Lana Del Rey), but just the idea that you could even consider that thought while listening to Ms. Jordan's cover of it says volumes about the raw talent of this young lady. She truly is a gift to the world of music and anyone who appreciates that world. Now that she has signed with a label I just hope I live long enough to hear a LOT more of what she has to offer, because her first 4-5 originals have already confirmed her as the force I thought she was going to be. I love Lana del Rey. And Adele. And then, Angelina covered them. And you realise that, while Lana and Adele are great artists, they're absolutely amazing songwriters. And that a pre-teen kid completely demolishes the original versions with her covers. I don't bother with the originals anymore, I just listen to Angelina's take on them. Which, by the way, is ONE take in front of a mike set up at home, and not countless perfections in a studio. Really does blow your mind, doesn't it?

You can really see in this video that she is completely, fully engaged in the story, like she's living it right then. Hi. There are several points about Angelina that I would like you to address (I am a musical composer). I tell you from my point of view and why they make this teenager (perhaps) the best singer of all time. 1) Plasticity. She can "imitate" any singer with her voice, imitating means having the ability to "absorb" from said singer colors, textures, musical smells, feelings, that's why I say that Freddie Mercury could only be Freddie Mercury but not Amy's textures Whinehuse or Elvis Presley and so vice versa. There is no singer of today, famous (Adele, etc) or in musical growth who has this capacity 2) humility. Absolutely all the singers at this moment personify the music, they create a show of everything they do, instead Angelina seems like a teenager who is continuously learning, practicing. How long is she going to practice? I don't know ... when she presents videos on RUclips and fans or haters admire or criticize they don't understand that she is only practicing, she is a girl who practices music, nothing more than that. I am impressed that she also practices when she is on stage, and it seems that she only does performances until now to give herself "little tastes" like going to AGT: SHE JUST WANTED TO SING HER IDOL Simon Cowell (AS SHE SAID IT) SING QUINCY JONES OR SING WITH THE NORWEGIAN BAND TO SHOW THE POWER THAT HIS SONG HAS (LITTLE LIKES THAT THIS GIRL GIVES HIMSELF IN LIFE) 3) There is something that very few Reactors have mentioned: she is continuously playing (if she is not the reincarnation of Elvis Presley I do not know what it is) I explain: at the moment she connects with some musicians of the orchestra and exchanges gestures, she often looks at the camera intently because she knows that someone is looking at her from this side, other times she is so possessed in the narration of the song that it is difficult for her to return to reality, it remains as in a strange state of regression 4) she is a musical teacher, she makes small corrections to the original musicians, without changing her style or original narration and she does it with n much respect. Angelina Jordan has an ongoing obsession with making music for all ages. NEVER SAW SOMETHING LIKE THIS, a musician (in this case sings an author) who is obsessed with the fact that music stops being fragmented into styles. How to achieve this? making the important thing is the dimensionality of the song, a singer whose purpose is to teach that singing is not a gymnastics, singing is not an Olympic vocal chord tournament, music is not a stage show: MUSIC IS SIMPLY ONE BEAUTIFUL SONG TO SHARE. GREETINGS TO THE COMMUNITY (I write this not as a fan but as a lover of good music). By the way, she's 14 years old ...

But i think Angelina goes even deeper then Lana,and that did put me off when i first heard this. I love Lanas voice because of how unique,somewhat deep she sounds and her music (Born in New York,and is currently 35 years of age) So many people have to look of disbelief when hearing Angelina sing. And she altered «Bohemian Rapsody» a bit because AGT only gives the artist a certain amount of time to performe. All the other songs are covers.
"Bang bang" and "Summertime" from the Norway got talent show is also a must. Just watching a 7 year do those is breathtaking.. It is like "bang bang" was written to her.

What´s not so difficult to understand. There are so many young kids that matured faster than others in music. There is 11 y. o. girl that is just as good drummer as Keith Moon and Ian Paice. Angelina has a famous grandmother who introduced her to jazz and when she was 5. Her grandmother has been her vocal coach since then. And her parents are into music too so it is no wonder she´s got much confidence and integrity to try to make her own versions of songs she likes.

Angelina is 12 here. And you are so right. It's MINDBLOWING what she has done with this super Lana Del Rey song. Lana is one of the most difficult singers to cover, mainly because of her low register. I've heard several singers try, and it wasn't good. Then along comes Angelina and performs it better than the original (IMO). This is one of my favorite covers by Angelina. Every time I hear it I'm blown away by her Incredible talent. Great reaction!
